Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the seven-day-long Bangla Sangeet Mela 2016 at Nazrul Mancha today. About 1,800 singers and 300 musicians, including those from USA, UK and Bangladesh, are going to perform during the musical extravaganza, from December 15 to 21.
The Chief Minister also gave away the Sangeet Mahasamman and Sangeet Samman awards to eminent artistes. She also inaugurated the renovated Rabindra-Okakura Bhawan, an auditorium in Salt Lake.
This is the first time when the Bangla Sangeet Mela is being held in four places in north Bengal, including in Kurseong, Kalimpong, Darjeeling and Siliguri, simultaneously.
In Kolkata, the week-long programme will be held at ten different venues, – Rabindra Sadan, Rabindra Sadan Mukta Mancha, Sisir Mancha, Madhusudan Mancha, Madhusudan Mukta Mancha, Hedua Park, Deshapriyo Park, Phani Bhusan Vidyabinode Yatra Mancha, Rabindra-Okakura Bhavan and Moharkunja. The programmes at all the venues will start from 3 pm and end at around 8 pm on all the seven days.
On the eve of Bangla Sangeet Mela, there will also be programmes at 28 schools, colleges and localities under the banner of ‘Para-e Para-e Sangeet Mela’. Eminent artistes whose health didn’t permit them to travel to the 10 venues will be performing in the localities closest to their residences.
There will also be a discussion on the topic ‘Bangla Sangeet-e Biswa Sangeet-er Prabhab’ (effect of international music on Bengali music) on Decemeber 17 at Rabindra Mukta Mancha, an open-air venue situated at the newly beautified area in the Nandan-Rabindra Sadan complex. There will also be an exhibition in the memory of legendary artistes at Gaganendra Pradarshanshala.
বাংলা সঙ্গীত মেলা ২০১৬-র উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী
আজ সন্ধ্যায় মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় সাত দিন ব্যাপী (১৫ই ডিসেম্বর থেকে ২১সে ডিসেম্বর) সঙ্গীত মেলা ২০১৬র উদ্বোধন করেন নজরুল মঞ্চে। রাজ্যের এই বিশাল সঙ্গীত সমারোহে আমেরিকা, ইংল্যান্ড ও বিভিন্ন দেশের শিল্পী মিলিয়ে প্রায় ২০০০ শিল্পী অংশ নেন।
উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে বিশিষ্ট সঙ্গীতশিল্পীদের সঙ্গীত মহাসম্মান ও সঙ্গীত সম্মান প্রদান করা হয়।
এই প্রথম বার সঙ্গীত মেলা উত্তরবঙ্গের ৪টি স্থানে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে, কার্শিয়ং, কালিম্পং, দার্জিলিং ও শিলিগুড়িতে।
কলকাতায় ১০টি স্থানে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে এই মেলা, রবীন্দ্রসদন, রবীন্দ্রসদন মুক্তমঞ্চ, শিশির মঞ্চ, মধুসূদন মঞ্চ, মধুসূদন মুক্ত মঞ্চ, হেদুয়া পার্ক ও দেশপ্রিয় পার্কে। এই প্রতিটি স্থানেই প্রতিদিন বিকেল ৩টেয় অনুষ্ঠান শুরু হবে ও সন্ধ্যে ৮টায় শেষ হবে। প্রায় ১৮০০ শিল্পী এখানে সঙ্গীত পরিবেশন করবেন। এখানে আমেরিকা, ইংল্যান্ড থেকেও যেমন শিল্পীরা আসবেন, প্রতিবেশী রাষ্ট্র বাংলাদেশ থেকেও শিল্পীরা আসবেন।
এই সঙ্গীত মেলা চলা কালীন ২৮টি স্কুল, কলেজ ও বিভিন্ন স্থানে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে “পাড়ায় পাড়ায় সঙ্গীত মেলা”। যেসকল স্বনামধন্য শিল্পীরা শারীরিক কারনে কোন মঞ্চে যেতে পারবেন না, তাঁরা তাঁর নিকটবর্তী এই ২৮টি স্থানের কোথাও সঙ্গীত পরিবেশন করতে পারবেন।
নন্দন ও রবীন্দ্র সদনের সদ্য শোভিত রবীন্দ্র মুক্ত মঞ্চে ১৭ই ডিসেম্বর বাংলা সঙ্গীতে বিশ্ব সঙ্গীত শীর্ষক একটি আলোচনা সভারও আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। গগনেন্দ্র প্রদর্শনশালায়ে কিংবদন্তী শিল্পীদের স্মৃতির উদ্দেশ্যে একটি প্রদর্শনীরও আয়োজনও করা হবে।
