Mamata Banerjee is the guardian of the people of Bengal: Abhishek Banerjee

“The State government stood beside the people during the floods. The government extended all help to people during the natural calamity. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stood by the people like a guardian,” Abhishek Banerjee said on Saturday.

He was addressing a meeting at Chandi gram panchayat area in Amtala. He distributed cheques to the homeless people in the area for construction of houses and donated Rs 4 crore from his MPLAD fund for the construction of ‘Karma Tirtha’ marketing hub in the area.

He also laid the foundation stone for the construction of main gate and visitors’ rest room at Amtala hospital. “The surge of development has silenced those who were engaged in slander against Mamata Banerjee,” he said.

The development initiatives will continue unabated, despite all the smear campaign, he added.

Attacking the media, he added, “The more you burn iron, it gets stronger. Likewise with Mamata Banerjee. The more you attack her, the stronger she gets. For you can’t see what she is doing. For you there is no Kanyashree, no new employment and no development. But people are seeing it. And they are the ones who will keep her in power.”

Agnikanya Mamata Banerjee would remain an example all over the country: Abhishek

Trinamool Youth Congress President and MP Abhishek Banerjee addressed a rally organised by the south Kolkata Trinamool youth Congress at Hazra on Sunday in preparation for the Trinamool Congress’ annual Ekushe July Saheed Divas in Dharmatallah in memory of 13 Youth Congress activists who were killed in police firing on 21 July, 1993 during a law violation programme in the city.

The Youth Congress leader lashed out at the opposition and the media for what he called hatching a conspiracy against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee by “belittling” her performances in last four and a half years.

Listing the Trinamool Congress Government’s achievements, Abhishek said “the immense” contribution made by the West Bengal Chief Minister “for which the people of Bengal fondly call her the Agnikanya”, would remain an example all over the country, particularly her initiative to resolve the crises in Janmgalmahal and in Darjeeling hills, besides the innumerable developmental projects undertaken by her government.

Abhishek said he would not hesitate to praise the Trinamool Congress Chairperson considering her “selfless sacrifice to the cause of the people and exemplary courage, now-adays a rare quality among the politicians”.

Coming down heavily against the media, as also the CPI-M, BJP and Congress, he said “a conspiracy” was hatched against Mamata Banerjee and the Trinamool Congress, but hastened to add that the “war against the people will not pay”. “I find that the media and the opposition have waged a war on the Chief Minister who stands for the people and whose life is dedicated to the cause of the people. No use waging such a war against the people,” he warned.

The TMYC leader took a dig at those political leaders “who have no other job but to criticise the Chief Minister and find fault with her government only in the TV screen”, and said “I would like to ask these politicians to be answerable to the people for the job they are doing for the masses”. Recalling the contribution of Mamata in ensuring introduction of photo identity cards to voters, he said “May I ask if the opposition friends are aware of this?”

Sunday’s rally was attended by All-India Trinamool Congress Secretary-General Partha Chatterjee, Kolkata Mayor Sobhan Chatterjee, Trinamool Chief Whip in Assembly Sobhandeb Chatterjee, Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim, Trinamool President Subrata Bakshi, among party’s south Kolkata district leaders.

Bengal will not tolerate divisive politics: Abhishek Banerjee

Trinamool Youth  Congress President and MP Abhishek Banerjee held a curtain raiser meeting at Panchla in Howrah yesterday to raise awareness regarding the mammoth sized Ekushe July Saheed Divas rally. He has been holding such meetings all over the state from North Bengal to South Bengal.

At the meeting in Panchla, the Trinamool Youth  Congress President mentioned that the BJP president keeps visiting the State time and again. The irony being that he is making an effort to consolidate a stronghold in West Bengal without even being aware of the mind frame of the people here.

The BJP have some farfetched desire to remove Mamata Banerjee as the Chief Minister of the State, the Trinamool Youth  Congress President said. However, they have hardly any comprehension of the people who thrive on the soil of Bengal or their needs. The people of Bengal favour the Trinamool Congress because the party’s leadership has an intricate understanding of their needs and delivers promises.

The BJP have actively chosen to blur the lines between religion and politics. The people of our State will not support this sort of propaganda, Abhishek Banerjee said. We have a rich legacy of communal harmony and more than a working understanding of ethical politics, he said. Our government will take rigid steps to weed out any religion biased politics present in West Bengal, he said.

State ministers Arup Roy, Rajib Banerjee, Hyder Ali Safwi and MP Sultan Ahmed and other Trinamool leaders were also present in the meeting.

We will answer all attempts of slander on Ekushe July: Abhishek Banerjee

Trinamool Youth Congress President Abhishek Banerjee addressed a mass rally yesterday at Dakshin Barasat Football Ground, Joynagar which was a curtain raiser for the 21st July Saheed Divas commemoration calling for a more stronger resistance to the collective slander campaign by the opposition parties. “CPM-Congress-BJP are trying to take on Trinamool with their informal coalition. They have nothing to say against each other but are busy instigating violence between Hindus and Muslims. We will not let them succeed in their ill actions. The people are with us”, he said.

The Trinamool Youth Congress President said, “We will answer all attempts of slander on the 21st of July. We will begin our fight from the stage of ‘Ekushe july’. The slander against the party and the Government is increasing every day. But just as the slander is increasing, the support of the people in the party’s favour is also increasing. Our victory in the Panchayat, Lok Sabha and Municipal elections is a proof of that.”

Those present at the mass rally were AITC secretary general Partha Chatterjee, district president Sovan Chatterjee, MP Pratima Mondal, Dy Speaker Sonali Guha among others.

We will work, we will fight, we will build: Abhishek Banerjee at Asansol

Trinamool Youth Congress President Abhishek Banerjee addressed a mass rally yesterday at Girja More in Asansol which was a curtain raiser for the 21st July Saheed Divas commemoration. He said, “West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee will be in power for the next 50 years due to the amount of work that has been done in the last four years. There is no place in Bengal where she has made a commitment and the work has not been done. The amount of developmental work that this State Government has done cannot be compared to the work any State Government for the last 50 years.” “The more some other parties and media houses use slander campaigning against us, the stronger will Trianmool Congress get,” he said.

He attacked the BJP by questioning why they had not protested with the Prime Minister even as he has stopped paying for the 100 days job program and has slashed the funds of most other programs. He categorically stated that the BJP’s plan of threatening with CBI and ED will not work and that the more BJP uses such tactics, the more progress will speed up in Bengal and protests gain momentum.

The Trinamool Youth Congress President stated that the Left parties do not have any existence in the state and that the people of this state have broken their limbs and spine through the democratic process and now they will not be able to stand up in the next 100 years. He went on to say that the slogan for Trinamool now is “We will work, we will fight, we will build”.
