Sir, I rise to oppose the introduction of the Bill to amend The RP (Representation of the People) Act, 1950 and The Representation of the People Act, 1951. This Bill is opposed to the Supreme Court judgment by Justice (Retd) Puttaswamy wherein it is mentioned that while Aadhaar is given to all residents, EPIC is given to all citizens. Besides, the Central Government is interfering in the (work of the) Election Commission. The Prime Minister’s secretary wrote a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner … (Chair intervenes)
