Asit Kumar Mal’s Zero Hour notice on housing, pension, accidental death benefits for bidi workers
Madam, I want to say that more than one crore bidi workers make bidi for their livelihood in West Bengal, including
Birbhum District. Most of them are women and old men. These bidi workers need no educational qualification. They are very poor and needy. They have to work in unhygienic condition. I want that the Central Government should stand by them with all kinds of help such as making home for them, accidental death benefit, pensions for the
unorganized sector workers, etc. Through you, I appeal to the hon. Union Labour Minister to fulfil the crying
needs of the bidi workers which they can have as benefits and facilities from the Central Government. Thank you, Madam.
