To save several varieties of small fish, the State Government has taken to releasing their hatchlings across Bengal. One quintal of hatchlings was released by the Fisheries Minister at Sindrani in Bagda block in North 24 Parganas district, in the presence of almost 3,000 fishermen in November.

Among the varieties in danger are mourola, kholse, tangra, pnuti, folui, koi, singi, magur, lyatha, chang, etc.

These fishes grow naturally in water bodies like streams and lakes. But over-fishing in places is leading to their depletion. Hence, the department has also started programmes to educate fishermen to not to over-fish and to not to fish during two months of the rainy season to give the time for the fishes to grow.

লুপ্তপ্রায় দেশী ছোট মাছ বাঁচাতে রাজ্যজুড়ে বিভিন্ন জলাশয়ে এলাকাভিত্তিক দেশী মাছের চারা ছাড়ার উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে রাজ্য মৎস্য দপ্তর। এরই অঙ্গ হিসেবে উত্তর ২৪ পরগনার বাগদা ব্লকের সিন্দ্রানী এলাকায় প্রায় ১ কুইন্টাল দেশী মাছের চারা ছাড়া হল। এরপর বাকি ৩২ টি সমবায় সমিতির জলাশয়ে ৪৮ হাজার দেশী মাছের চারা ছাড়া হবে।

মৌরলা, খলসে, ট্যাংরা, পুঁটি, ফলুই, কই, শিঙি, মাগুর, ল্যাঠা, চ্যাং ইত্যাদির মত অঞ্চলভিত্তিক দেশী মাছ (স্থানীয়ভাবে যেগুলো রাণী মাছ হিসেবে পরিচিত) প্রায় হারিয়ে যেতে বসেছে। এই মাছ আলাদা করে চাষ করা যায় না, প্রাকৃতিকভাবে জলাশয়গুলিতে বেড়ে ওঠে।

এলাকাভিত্তিক এই মাছগুলির উৎপাদন বাড়াতে রাজ্যের প্রতি জেলার খাল বিল ও চুনোপুঁটি মেলার আয়োজনের মাধ্যমে এইসব মাছের চারা জলাশয়গুলিতে ছাড়া হচ্ছে। ছোট ইলিশ ধরার ক্ষেত্রে আইন করে বিধিনিষেধ আরোপ করে যেভাবে কিছুটা ফল পাওয়া গেছে, এক্ষেত্রেও আগামীদিনে ফল পাওয়া যাবে বলে মৎস্য দপ্তর আশাবাদী।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee held a high-level meeting on Wednesday in the state secretariat to ensure that the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) 2018 takes place in a much better way in its new venue, which is Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in New Town. BGBS 2018 is going to be held on January 16 and 17.

Top industrialists and delegates from different parts of the world are going to be present at the summit. Businessmen and entrepreneurs from across the country will also turn up to be a part of it. In the past years, BGBS has taken place at Milan Mela ground.

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had planned the setting-up of the international-level convention centre in New Town and it has come up as eastern India’s biggest convention centre with the main auditorium having a seating capacity of around 3,200, which is the highest in the country. The convention centre was inaugurated by the Chief Minister in October. Apart from exhibition halls, banquets and restaurants, there is also 112-bed accommodation in the convention centre.

The Bengal Chief Minister has directed to make proper arrangement for the accommodation of delegates to be present in BGBS, in the meeting held on Wednesday. This year, the accommodation of the delegates will be at the convention centre itself. So, they do not have to travel even a few kilometers to reach the venue. Despite that, concerned officials have been directed to ensure that accommodation in the hotels in the vicinity should also be kept available as it may be needed at that time for the delegates. Senior ministers including the state Commerce and Industry Minister Dr Amit Mitra, state Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Minister Firhad Hakim, Mayor and minister of the state Fire and Emergency Services department Sovan Chatterjee and minister of state for Information and Cultural Affairs department Indranil Sen were present in the meeting.

The Chief Minister has directed all concerned ministers and officials to ensure a foolproof arrangement for the delegates. The senior officials will be visiting the venue and a proper plan of action will be prepared to organise BGBS with proper coordination.

 

তিন হাজার শিল্পপতি এবার বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনে

দেশী বিদেশী শিল্পপতি ও বিনিয়োগকারীদের রেকর্ড ভিড়ে এবার আলাদা মাত্রা পেতে চলেছে ২০১৮ সালের ১৬ ও ১৭ জানুয়ারি অনুষ্ঠিত হতে চলা বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন। এবার প্রায় সাড়ে তিন হাজার প্রতিনিধি যোগ দেবেন এই সম্মেলনে। এর মধ্যে বিদেশী শিল্পপতি প্রায় চারশো। নামী শিল্পপতিদের ভিড়ে যেমন লক্ষ্মীনিবাস মিত্তল থেকে মুকেশ আম্বানি বা সজ্জন জিন্দাল থাকছেন, তেমনই ব্রিটেন, ইটালি, সিঙ্গাপুর, জার্মানি, চীন-জাপান ও এশিয়ার সব দেশেরই সফল শিল্পদ্যোগীরা আছেন।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর লন্ডন সফরের সময়েই মিত্তল সম্মেলনে যোগ দেওয়ার ব্যাপারে সবুজ সংকেত দিয়েছিলেন। আসবেন লন্ডন চেম্বার অফ কমার্সের প্রতিনিধিরা, মুম্বইয়ের নামী শিল্পপতিদের সংগঠন ওয়াইটিও। সব মিলিয়ে চাঁদের হাট বসবে নিউটাউনে নবনির্মিত বিশ্ব বাংলা আন্তর্জাতিক কনভেনশন সেন্টারে।

১৫ জানুয়ারি রাতে ইকো পার্কে রাজ্য সরকার নৈশ্য ভোজের আয়োজনও করা হয়েছে। প্রায় সমস্ত এশীয় দেশ থেকে প্রতিনিধিরা যোগ দেবেন বলে আশা করা হচ্ছে। অত্যাধুনিক কনভেনশন সেন্টারে থাকার ব্যবস্থাও আছে। এই সব আয়োজনের পাশাপাশি ট্রাফিক ও নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থায় জোর দেওয়া হচ্ছে।

2The State Cooperation Minister has announced recently that cooperative banks are going to be set up in 250 more villages across Bengal. Now there are 710 gram panchayats without any banks.

Cooperative banks are the primary banking institutions in rural regions, as bigger government and private banks cannot afford to serve such small populations. Hence it is crucial that more such banks are set up.

On December 6, a first-of-its-kind meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee where all the district cooperative bank chairpersons were present, as well as some of the senior ministers and State Government officials. This decision is an outcome of that meeting.

The 250 villages selected are those which are isolated, and hence most in need. People from these villages will have easy accessibility to loans from these banks, and interest rates of cooperative banks are not that high.

Currently, there are 29,000 cooperative banks in Bengal.

২৫০টি গ্রামে সমবায় ব্যাঙ্ক গড়বে রাজ্য

রাজ্যের ৭১০টি গ্রামে কোনও ব্যাঙ্ক নেই। কয়েক কিলোমিটার দূরে যেতে হয় টাকা জমাতে। গরিব মানুষের সঞ্চয়ের ইচ্ছায় বাধ সেধছে দূরত্ব। তাই এবার গ্রামে গ্রামে সমবায় ব্যাঙ্ক গড়বে রাজ্য। আপাতত ২৫০টি গ্রামে এই সমবায় গড়ার সিদ্ধান্ত হয়েছে। এ কথা জানিয়েছেন সমবায় মন্ত্রী।

তিনি বলেন, সরকারি বা বেসরকারি ব্যাঙ্ক করা রাজ্য সরকারের পক্ষে সম্ভব নয়। আমরা পারি সমবায় ব্যাঙ্ক করতে। এ কারণেই রাজ্যের বিভিন্ন গ্রামে সমবায় ব্যাঙ্ক গড়ার চিন্তা ভাবনা। যে সব গ্রাম একেবারে পিছিয়ে সেগুলিকে চিহ্নিত করে তালিকা করা হয়েছে। সেখান থেকে ২৫০ গ্রামকে বেছে নেওয়া হচ্ছে।

এই সমবায় ব্যাঙ্ক থেকে গ্রামের মানুষ সহজে ঋণ নিতে পারবেন। সুদও কম। ফলে সরকারি বড় ব্যাঙ্কের ঝামেলা থাকবে না। রাজ্যে ২৯ হাজার সমবায় ব্যাঙ্ক রয়েছে।

Farmers in Bengal are getting modern equipment thanks to ample help provided by the State Government.

Following Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s special instructions, the government took up the Financial Support Scheme for Farm Mechanisation (FSSFM). Till the financial year 2016-17, under this scheme, financial support worth Rs 225.8 crore has been given to 1.82 lakh farmers to buy modern small or medium-sized tools for farming.

It is not always possible for farmers to make such huge investments to buy the different types of heavy tools that are also necessary for farming. To ensure their availability for farmers, Custom Hiring Centres (CHC) have been set up across the state, from where heavy agricultural tools can be had on rent at a much subsidised rate. From 2014 to 2017, as many as 586 CHCs have been set up.

Besides financial assistance, the department has also helped farmers in gathering knowledge about modern and updated technology for farming. It has ensured an increase in production of crops. Moreover, the farmers have started getting the right price for their yield.

Soon after coming to power, the Chief Minister had directed all concerned departments to take necessary steps to ensure farmers can make a profit. It may be mentioned that average yearly income of farmers in Bengal has gone up to Rs 2.39 lakh during the 2016-17 fiscal, from Rs 91,011 during 2010-11. Moreover, 16.55 lakh hectares of agricultural land have been brought under crop insurance over the past six years; the total area has gone up to 21 lakh hectares currently, from 4.45 lakh hectares during the 2011-12 fiscal.

রাজ্য সরকারের ঐকান্তিক সহায়তার জন্য রাজ্যের কৃষকেরা পাচ্ছেন কৃষির আধুনিক যন্ত্রপাতি।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর নির্দেশে রাজ্য সরকার কৃষকদের সহায়তার জন্য বিশেষ প্রকল্প চালু হয়েছে রাজ্যে, যার পোশাকি নাম ফিনান্সিয়াল সাপোর্ট স্কিম ফর ফার্ম মেকানাইজেশন। ২০১৬-১৭ অর্থবর্ষ পর্যন্ত এই প্রকল্পের অধীনে ১.৮২লক্ষ কৃষককে ২২৫.৮ কোটি টাকার আর্থিক সহায়তা করা হয়েছে কৃষি কাজের জন্য ছোট ও মাঝারি মাপের আধুনিক যন্ত্রপাতি কিনতে।

কৃষিকাজের প্রয়োজনীয় সমস্ত যন্ত্রপাতি কেনা সবসময় সকল চাষির পক্ষে সম্ভব হয়ে ওঠে না। তাই কৃষকরা যাতে সহজে এগুলি পেতে পারেন, সেই উদ্দেশ্যে রাজ্য জুড়ে কাস্টম হায়ারিং সেন্টার খোলা হয়েছে। এই কেন্দ্রগুলি থেকে চাষিরা তাদের প্রয়োজনীয় কৃষি যন্ত্রপাতি ভাড়ায় নিতে পারেন, তাও আবার ভর্তুকি দেওয়া দরে। ২০১৪-১৭ সালের মধ্যে ৫৮৬টি কেন্দ্র তৈরী করা হয়েছে।

আর্থিক সহায়তার পাশাপাশি কৃষি দপ্তর কৃষকদের আধুনিক যন্ত্রপাতি ও সেগুলি ব্যবহার করার প্রশিক্ষণও প্রদান করছে। এর ফলে বেড়েছে ফলন। এছাড়া চাষিরা তাদের উৎপাদনের ন্যায্য মূল্যও পাচ্ছেন।

২০১১ সালে শাসনভার গ্রহনের সঙ্গে সঙ্গেই মুখ্যমন্ত্রী কৃষি সম্বন্ধিত সকল দপ্তরকে নির্দেশ দেন কৃষকদের আয় বাড়াতে প্রয়োজনীয় পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করতে। রাজ্যের কৃষকদের গড় আয় ২০১৬-১৭ অর্থবর্ষে বেড়ে হয়েছে ২.৩৯ লক্ষ টাকা, যা ২০১০-১১ সালে ছিল মাত্র ৯১,০১১ টাকা। এছাড়া ১৬.৫৫ লক্ষ হেক্টর কৃষি জমিকে ফসল বীমার আওতায় আনা হয়েছে গত ৬বছরে। এই মুহূর্তে ফসল বীমার আওতায় রাজ্যে কৃষি জমির আয়তন ২১ লক্ষ হেক্টর, যা ২০১১-১২ সাল পর্যন্ত ছিল মাত্র ৪.৪৫ লক্ষ হেক্টর।

To be prepared for any natural calamity or emergency situation in Bengal, the State Food and Supplies Department is setting up massive silos at five separate places that will be able to preserve rice for two years. In normal warehouses, rice can be stored for a maximum of seven months. The project will come up at a cost of Rs 800 crore.

Three such silos, which will be temperature-controlled to preserve the rice for long periods, will be located in south Bengal, with Bardhaman being one of the places, and two in north Bengal.

The plan is to conserve 10,000 metric tonnes of rice in each silo. Bardhaman has been selected as the location of one such silo; search is on for the other locations.

These plans were announced by the State Food and Supplies Minister at an interactive session on the achievements of the Khadya Sathi Scheme organised by Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BNCCI). Khadya Sathi is a crowning achievement of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The minister also said that that Bengal produces 10 lakh metric tonnes of paddy in excess annually. Presently, 200 trucks of rice are exported daily to Bangladesh through the Petrapole border outpost.

He further announced that under the instruction of the Chief Minister, the department will send food stock for three months to Darjeeling.

An official at the summit said the department is setting up warehouses with a total capacity of 5 lakh metric tonnes by the end of 2018 for storing foodgrains.

Recently, Rice Tech Expo was held in Bardhaman town where modern technology for preservation of the grain was displayed by representatives from Brazil, Sweden and Norway. The districts of Purba and Paschim Bardhaman comprise the rice bowl of Bengal.

চাল সংরক্ষণে এবার অত্যাধুনিক পরিকাঠামো গড়ে তুলবে রাজ্য। এই ধরনের পরিকাঠামোর পোশাকি নাম ‘সাইলো’। খাদ্যসাথী প্রকল্প নিয়ে ‘বেঙ্গল ন্যাশনাল চেম্বার অব কমার্স অ্যান্ড ইন্ডাস্ট্রি’ আয়োজিত এক আলোচনাসভায় এই খবর জানিয়েছেন রাজ্যের খাদ্যমন্ত্রী।

মন্ত্রীর বক্তব্য, কৃষকদের থেকে সরাসরি ধান কেনা হচ্ছে। কিন্তু আবহাওয়ার পরিবর্তন কিংবা অন্য কোনও কারণে ধান উৎপাদন ব্যাহত হলে যাতে ভাতের অভাব না হয়, তার জন্য এখন থেকেই ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হচ্ছে। আপাতত পাঁচটি সাইলো তৈরির পরিকল্পনা চলছে। তার মধ্যে দুটি হবে উত্তরবঙ্গে। বাকিগুলি হবে দক্ষিণবঙ্গে। এক একটি সাইলোতে ১০ হাজার মেট্রিক টন চাল দুবছর পর্যন্ত সংরক্ষণ করা যাবে।

মন্ত্রী বলেন, ধান মজুতের পরিকাঠামোও বৃদ্ধি করা হচ্ছে। বাম জমানার শেষের দিকে ৬২ হাজার মেট্রিক টনের গোডাউন ছিল রাজ্যে। এখন ৬ লক্ষ ১০ হাজার মেট্রিক টনের গুদাম রয়েছে। আগামী ডিসেম্বরের মধ্যেই আরও তিন লক্ষ পাঁচ হাজার মেট্রিক টনের গুদাম তৈরি হয়ে যাবে। এখানেই শেষ নয়, আগামী দিনে ধান মজুতের পরিকাঠামো আরও বাড়ানো হবে।

মন্ত্রী জানিয়েছেন, বর্তমানে রাজ্যে ১২৫০টি রাইস মিল রয়েছে। তার মধ্যে ২৫০টি মিল বন্ধ। সেগুলিকে খোলার জন্য তিন সদস্যের কমিটি তৈরি করা হয়েছে। মিল ধরে ধরে আলোচনা করা হবে। বণিক সভার সদস্যদের রাইস মিল তৈরিতে এগিয়ে আসার আহ্বান জানান তিনি। মন্ত্রী বলেন, নতুন রাইস মিল তৈরির জন্য ভর্তুকি দেবে রাজ্য। ট্রাইবাল এলাকায় মিল তৈরি করলে ৭৫ লক্ষ টাকা ভর্তুকি পাওয়া যাবে। অন্য জায়গায় মিল তৈরিতে মিলবে ৫০ লক্ষ টাকা ভর্তুকি।
খাদ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর নির্দেশে তিন মাসের বকেয়া খাবার এবার দেওয়া হবে দার্জিলিংয়ে। তার জন্য ব্যাপক প্রচার করা হবে। চা বাগানগুলিতে ফেয়ার প্রাইস শপ করা হবে বলেও জানান তিনি। তিনি বলেন, এই ধরনের ১২৬টি ফেয়ার প্রাইস শপ তৈরির কাজ চলছে। প্রতিটি চা বাগানেই এই শপ খোলা হবে।

The State Government has decided to run special trams for tourists from December. Being a heritage mode of transport (introduced by the erstwhile British rulers in 1873), trams are popular especially among foreign tourists.

These trams are going to be jointly run by the Transport and Tourism Departments. One of the routes decided would cover the points of Victoria Memorial, Race Course and Shahid Minar, all holders of a rich historical legacy. This tram would run from Esplanade to Khidderpore, and would see service from December 15, in time for the holiday season.

The trams would have luxurious seating, and would have curtained windows. Snacks would be served inside. Five such trams, which would be non-AC, would be run initially.

 

ভিক্টোরিয়া-রেসকোর্স-শহীদ মিনার দর্শন এবার ট্রামে চেপে

 

সালটা ১৮৭৩। প্রথম ঘোড়ায় টানা ট্রাম কলকাতার পরিবহন ব্যবস্থার মুকুটে নতুন পালক যোগ করেছিল। আজও গণপরিবহনের অন্যতম স্তম্ভ কল্লোলিনী কলকাতার এই ট্রাম।

তিলোত্তমার ইতিহাস আর ঐতিহ্যর সঙ্গে অঙ্গাঙ্গীভাবে জড়িয়ে গেছে শহরের প্রাচীনতম এই বাহন। জন্মলগ্নে যার গন্তব্য ছিল আর্মেনিয়ান ঘাট থেকে শিয়ালদহ, আজ তা শাখাপ্রশাখা বিস্তার করে পৌঁছে গেছে শহরের একপ্রান্ত থেকে অন্যপ্রান্তে। তাই শহরকে চিনতে এর জুড়ি মেলা ভার।

এবার ঐতিহ্যের ভিক্টোরিয়া-রেসকোর্স-শহীদ মিনার দেখা যাবে ট্রামে করেই। সৌজন্যে রাজ্য পর্যটন ও পরিবহন দপ্তর। জয় রাইডের জন্যই এই ট্রাম। আগামী ১৫ই ডিসেম্বর থেকে যাত্রা শুরু করবে। প্রথম পর্যায়ে ধর্মতলা থেকে খিদিরপুর পর্যন্ত ট্রাম যাতায়াত করবে।

এই মুহূর্তে দু’কামরার পাঁচটি নন-এসি ট্রাম চালানোর সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়েছে। ট্রামে থাকবে আরামদায়ক আসন। ট্রামে থাকবে স্ন্যাক্সের ব্যবস্থা।

ধর্মতলা থেকে যাত্রীদের তুলে রেসকোর্সের সামনে নামিয়ে দেওয়া হবে। ভ্রমনার্থীরা স্থানগুলো ঘুরে দেখতে পারবেন। নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের পর ট্রাম এসে যাত্রীদের নিয়ে যাবে পরের গন্তব্যতে।

In order to give them an identity makeover, West Bengal Transport Corporation (WBTC) has introduced a uniform for the drivers and conductors, as well as the inspectors, of its buses.

The shirt is sky blue in colour while the trousers are dark blue. Significantly, the two chest pockets are imprinted with the identifiers of two of the most-recognised projects of the Bengal Government. The right pocket has written on it ‘Safe Drive Save Life’, the government’s landmark and very well-received safe driving project, while on the left pocket is the blue-green-yellow logo of Biswa Bangla, the government’s all-encompassing brand for all things Bengal.

There are 2,347 drivers and 2,398 conductors manning the 1,300 buses of the WBTC. In addition, there are a large number of inspectors. All are required to wear the uniform. Initially, two sets of uniforms are being given to them.

Over the last six years, since the Trinamool Congress Government has been in power, the transport sector of Bengal has seen a marked change. New and state-of-the-art buses, new routes, app for tracking buses, improved social benefits for the workers, and now, new uniforms – it has been good fortune all the way.

রাজ্য সরকারের বাসের ড্রাইভার ও কন্ডাক্টররা পাবেন নতুন উর্দি

এক নতুন পরিচিতি তৈরি করার লক্ষ্যে রাজ্য পরিবহণ নিগম একটি উর্দি দিচ্ছে ড্রাইভার, কন্ডাক্টর ও বাসের ইন্সপেক্টরদের।

জামাটি হবে আকাশী নীল রঙের ও প্যান্ট হবে গাড় নীল রঙের। জামায় বুক পকেটে থাকবে দুটি। এই পকেট দুটিতে রাজ্যের সবচেয়ে বিখ্যাত দুটি প্রকল্প মুদ্রিত থাকবে। ডান পকেটে লেখা থাকবে ‘সেফ ড্রাইভ সেভ লাইফ’ এবং বাম পকেটে থাকবে বিশ্ব বাংলার লোগো।

এই মুহূর্তে ২৩৪৭ জন ড্রাইভার, ২৩৯৮ জন কন্ডাক্টর ১৩০০টি বাস চালান। প্রচুর সংখ্যায় ইন্সপেক্টর আছে, সবাইকে এই উর্দি পরতে হবে। প্রাথমিক ভাবে দু জোড়া উর্দি দেওয়া হবে সবাইকে।

As part of the ongoing restoration project of the iconic Town Hall, a heritage structure, being undertaken by the Bengal Government, it has been decided to upgrade it to an earthquake-proof building.

The strengthening of the more-than-200-year-old structure is being undertaken keeping in mind the series earthquakes, though of lesser intensity, in the past few years. Experts from IIT Roorkee have prepared a detailed report on restoring the structure, and the decision for earthquake-proofing is based on it.

An official from the Public Works Department (PWD), which is overseeing the restoration, said that as per the planning, fibre-reinforced concrete around the huge pillars in front of Town Hall will strengthen it and at the same time, steel will be used to fix the structure of the roof with the pillars.

At the same time, the lighting arrangements will be done in such a way that they add more elegance to the building’s look.

ইতিমধ্যেই টাউন হলের সংস্কারের কাজ শুরু করেছে রাজ্য সরকার। এই উদ্যোগের অংশ হিসেবে এই ঐতিহাসিক ভবনটিকে ভূমিকম্প-রোধক বানাবে রাজ্য।

গত কয়েক বছরে কলকাতায় বেশ কয়েকটি ভূমিকম্পের ঘটনা ঘটেছে। যদিও সেগুলির প্রবলতা খুব বেশি ছিল না, তবুও সংশয় থেকেই যায়। ঠিক এই কারণেই, দুশো বছরেরও বেশী পুরনো এই ভবনটিকে ভূমিকম্প-রোধক বানাতে উদ্যোগী সরকার। আইআইটি রুরকির বিশেষজ্ঞরা এই বাড়িটি সংস্কারের বিশদ রিপোর্ট তৈরী করেছে ভূমিকম্পের বিষয়টি মাথায় রেখেই।

পূর্ত দপ্তর এই সংস্কারের দায়িত্বে। ফাইবার-যুক্ত-কংক্রিট দিয়ে এই হলের থামগুলিকে মজবুত করা হচ্ছে। থামের সাথে যুক্ত ছাদের অংশটিতে স্টিল ব্যবহার করা হবে।

এছাড়াও, টাউন হলের শোভাবৃদ্ধির জন্য আলো দিয়ে সাজানোও হবে।

The Bengal Government has decided to set up an advisory council for the state’s scheduled tribes (ST). The council will provide suggestions on ways to improve the social, educational, cultural and economic aspects of such people. A chairman would be appointed soon.

The decision to form the council was taken after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, during her recent trip to Jhargram for an administrative review meeting, promised to appoint resources for the welfare of tribals and Adivasis.

In a related development, the State Government has decided to bring out advertisements for the appointment of teachers proficient in the Ol Chiki script. Mamata Banerjee has made it one of her missions to make Ol Chiki (the script for Santhali language) a viable medium for students from Santhal communities.

 

পৃথক তপসিলি উপদেষ্টা কাউন্সিল গঠন রাজ্যের

রাজ্যের তপসিলিদের উন্নয়নের লক্ষ্যে তপসিলি উপদেষ্টা কাউন্সিল গড়বে রাজ্য সরকার। এই কাউন্সিল মূলত সামাজিক, শিক্ষা, সংস্কৃতি ও অর্থনৈতিক বিষয়ক উন্নয়নের দিকেই নজর দেবে।

সম্প্রতি ঝাড়গ্রাম সফরে তপসিলি জাতীর উন্নয়নের প্রতিশ্রুতিও দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। তার পরেই এই কাউন্সিল গঠন। এবার থেকে এই কাউন্সিল সব ক্ষেত্রের উন্নয়নের বিষয়টি দেখবে ও রাজ্যের সঙ্গে সংযোগ রক্ষা করবে। শীঘ্রই কাউকে এই কাউন্সিলের চেয়ারম্যান হিসেবে নিযুক্ত করা হবে।

এ রাজ্যে অল চিকি ভাষার শিক্ষকের অভাব আছে। অল চিকি ভাষায় শিক্ষক নিয়োগের বিজ্ঞপ্তিও শীঘ্রই প্রকাশ করবে রাজ্য।

The State government has decided to open five more universities. This was announced by the Education Minister recently.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the Trinamool Congress government has improved the education infrastructure of Bengal in a major way. During the last six years, 17 universities and 47 colleges have been established. The number would now go up to 22.

Two of the universities would be located in Purba Medinipur and Jhargram districts. The business school, Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM) would be elevated to a university. The other two universities would be Green University in Hooghly district and Biswa Bangla University in Shantiniketan.

 

রাজ্যে আরও ৫ টি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়

রাজ্যে আরও ৫টি নতুন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় হতে চলেছে।

শিক্ষামন্ত্রী পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায় জানান, গত ৬ বছরে ৪৭টি কলেজ ও ১৭টি নতুন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় তৈরী হয়েছে। আরও পাঁচটি নতুন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় হবে। পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর, ঝাড়গ্রামে দুটি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় হবে।

সেই সঙ্গে Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM) কে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে উন্নীত করা হবে। হুগলীতে গ্রিন ইউনিভার্সিটি ও শান্তিনিকেতনে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় গড়ে তোলা হবে।
