West Bengal Tourism Development Corporation (WBTDC) and the Calcutta State Transport Corporation (CSTC) have made arrangements to show some of the Heritage Pujas in and around the city. This is a chance to traverse down Kolkata’s memory lane during Durga puja now have the option of visiting the city’s centuries-old palaces and bonedi baris .Fascinatingly, each puja has a different story to tell or at least a unique ritual that sets it apart from the rest.

One of the tours begins from the house of the Sabarna Roy Choudhurys of Behala Barisha, where the historic agreement took place with Job Charnock in 1698 that gave the British trading rights of Kolkata. The aatchala (eight-pillared courtyard) still exists and so does this heritage puja.

The bus trip takes a tourist through the city’s majestic heritage to Rani Rashmoni’s house on S N Banerjee Road, where the Goddess and her family has features like Lord Jagannath of Puri to Dutta Baari (Thanthania), where one gets to see the Goddess Durga relaxing on Mahadev’s lap.

The CSTC takes tourists through heritage pujas starting from Belur right upto Barisha on a Volvo Bus from Esplanade on Saptami, Ashtami and Nabami. Food is on the house with an elaborate lunch being served at the Sovabazar Rajbaari. One offbeat puja covered on this trip is the Baghbazar Halderbaarir pujo where the idol is a two feet Goddess made from Kostipathar.

The tour also take tourists to Belur where the Kumaripuja is famously held on Ashtami morning. CSTC takes tourists to Belur, Bagbazar Haldarbaari, Sovabazar Rajbaari, Latubabu, Chatubabu, Rani Rashmoni’r baari, Mukherjeebaari (Behala), Sonar Durga (Behala), Sabarna Roy Choudhury’s baari in Behala Barisha.

The day trip includes a visit to Khelat Ghosh’s Baari, Sovabazar Raj Baari, Chhatubabu Latubabur Puja, Chandra Baari, Rani Rashmoni Baari, Thanthania Dutta Baari while the noon trip takes you to Khelat Ghosh’s Baari, Sovabazar Raj Baari, Chhatubabu Latubabur Puja, Chandra Baari, Rani Rashmoni Baari and  Bagbazar.

 

এবার পুজোয় কলকাতার বনেদি বাড়ির দেখার সুযোগ করে দিল পর্যটন দপ্তর

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ পর্যটন উন্নয়ন নিগম এবং কলকাতা ভূতল পরিবহণ নিগম যৌথ প্রয়াসে এবছর এক অভিনব উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে। এবার পুজোয় কলকাতার ঐতিহ্যের আস্বাদ নিতে, স্মৃতি বিজরিত নানা বনেদি বাড়িতে দুর্গা পুজোর সাক্ষী হওয়ার সুযোগ দর্শনার্থীদের। পর্যটন বিভাগ ও সিএসটিসির উদ্যোগে এবারে পুজোয় থাকছে একটি ট্যুর যাতে কলকাতার সমস্ত বনেদি বাড়ির পুজো ঘোরা যাবে।

বেহালার সাবর্ণ রায়চৌধুরীর বাড়ি থেকে শুরু করে ধর্মতলায় রানী রাসমণির বাড়ি, ঠনঠনিয়ার দত্তবাড়ি থেকে শুরু করে বেলুড় – এই ট্যুরে থাকছে অনেক আকর্ষণ। পাওয়া যাবে শোভাবাজার রাজবাড়িতে পাওয়া যাবে দুপুরের ভোগ খাবার সুযোগ। দেখতে পারবেন বেলুড়ের কুমারী পুজোও। এই ট্যুরে আপনি যাওয়ার সুযোগ পাবেন বাগবাজার হালদার বাড়ি, লাটুবাবু-ছাতুবাবু, বেহালার মুখার্জী বাড়ি, বেহালার সোনার দুর্গা এবং আরও অনেক পুজো।

Trinamool Chairperson Mamata Banerjee launched the Festive Edition (‘Pujabarshiki’) of Jago Bangla today at a colourful ceremony at Nazrul Mancha.

Like every year, the cover of the Festive Edition has been designed by Mamata Banerjee.

This year’s edition has articles by party functionaries, intellectuals and veteran columnists.

The Trinamool Chairperson has penned her thoughts on the recently concluded Assembly elections which Trinamool won with a landslide margin, negating all the smear campaigns and conspiracies.

জাগো বাংলার উ९সব সংখ্যা প্রকাশ করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

আজ নজরুল মঞ্চে জাগো বাংলার উ९সব সংস্করণের প্রকাশ করলেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

প্রতি বছরের মত, উ९সব সংস্করণের প্রচ্ছদটি তিনি নিজেই ডিজাইন করেছেন।

প্রত্যেকবারের মতই এবছরও উৎসব সংখ্যায় দলের নেতারা ছাড়াও লেখা দিয়েছেন বিশিষ্টজনেরা।

এই বছরের সংস্করণে, সমস্ত কুৎসা ও অপপ্রচারকে নস্যাৎ করে বিধানসভা নির্বাচনে তৃণমূলের বিপুল জয় নিয়ে কলম ধরেছেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated and laid the foundations stones for a bouquet of developmental projects for Hooghly district today during an administrative review meeting in Chinsurah at 4 pm.

The projects that were inaugurated by the Chief Minister today included new administrative buildings for the district, water projects, irrigation projects, road projects, bridges, parks, hostels and police stations, among others.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones for numerous projects including hostels, roads, administrative buildings and Karma Tirthas, among others.

She distributed cycles under Sabuj Sathi, Kanyashree, Yubashree and Sikshashree benefits, agricultural machinery and land pattas.

 

হুগলী জেলায় আজ প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর

আজ বৃহস্পতিবার হুগলি জেলার চুঁচুড়ায় প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

চুঁচুড়ায় সার্কিট হাউসের উল্টো দিকে নবনির্মিত প্রশাসনিক ভবনে বৈঠকটি হয়। বিভিন্ন দফতরের মন্ত্রীরা ছাড়াও পুলিশ এবং প্রশাসনের আধিকারিকেরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন বৈঠকে। আগের প্রশাসনিক বৈঠকে যে সব সিদ্ধান্ত হয়েছিল, সেই সব কাজের অগ্রগতি কতদূর হল, তার হিসাব এবং হাল-হকিকত মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর কাছে পেশ করেন প্রশাসনের কর্তারা।

বৈঠকের পরে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী চন্দননগরের উড়ালপুল-সহ কিছু সরকারি প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন করেন। প্রথামাফিক নানা সরঞ্জাম সহ বিভিন্ন সরকারি পরিষেবা প্রদান করেন তিনি।

The state environment department has taken up an initiative to run CNG run vehicles in Asansol-Durgapur area. Easy availability of CNG in the region has prompted the state government to introduce the environment friendly transport in the industrial and trading hubs.

The change from the present system of running the public transport system will be implemented in phases. In the first phase 500 state run buses will be asked to convert into CNG. Apart from this fleet of South Bengal State Transport Corporation (SBSTC) run buses, the state will ask at least 2000 auto rickshaw operators in the Durgapur-Asansol area to opt for CNG, state environment minister Sovan Chatterjee said.

If the experiment in this region bears fruit, the same will be offered as an option for Kolkata and its adjoining areas, Chatterjee said. The state environment department will give Rs 5 crore to the state transport department for the conversion.

Easy availability of Coal bed methane gas which is a variant of CNG has made the conversion possible in the area. There are two private firms which are producing the natural gas in the region. This makes the conversion easy for us,” the minister said.

 

যৌথ উদ্যোগে পরিবেশ বান্ধব যান এবার রাজ্যে

এসবিএসটিসি আর পরিবেশ দফতরের যৌথ উদ্যোগে এবার রাজ্যে নামছে পরিবেশ বান্ধব বাস ও অটো৷ ইতিমধ্যেই নতুন এই বাস, অটো চালু করার জন্য এসবিএসটিসি-কে পাঁচ কোটি টাকা দিয়েছে পরিবেশ দফতর৷

পরিবেশ মন্ত্রী শোভন চট্টোপাধ্যায় জানিয়েছেন, তৈরি হয়ে গিয়েছে ব্লু প্রিন্ট৷ দু’টি কোম্পানির সঙ্গে কথাও হয়ে গিয়েছে৷ যার মধ্যে সবুজ সঙ্কেতও দিয়েছে একটি কোম্পানি৷ কেমন হবে পরিবেশ বান্ধব যান? মূলত ন্যাচারাল গ্যাস বা সিএনজিতে চলবে এই বাস এবং অটো৷ এই সমস্ত যান বাহনে দূষণের পরিমাণও অনেক কম৷ কলকাতার রাস্তায় কাটা তেলের অটোর বদলে এখন যেমন সিএনজি গ্যাসের অটো চলছে একই কায়দায় চলবে এই ধরনের যানবাহন৷ প্রাথমিকভাবে ঠিক হয়েছে ২০০০ অটো ও ২৫টা বাস নামবে রাস্তায়৷ তবে এখুনি কলকাতার রাজপথে নয়, পরীক্ষামূলকভাবে প্রথমে আসানসোল, দুর্গাপুরেই চলবে এই পরিবেশ বান্ধব বাস ও অটো৷

পরিবেশ মন্ত্রী শোভন চট্টোপাধ্যায় বলেছেন, “দীর্ঘদিন ধরেই রাজ্যে পরিবেশ দূষণ রোধ করার কথা ভাবছে রাজ্য সরকার৷ তারই ফলশ্রুতি হিসাবে চালু হচ্ছে এই পরিবেশ বান্ধব যান৷” ‘এসার’ আর ‘জিইসিএল’ নামে দু’টি প্রাকৃতিক গ্যাসের কোম্পানির সঙ্গে কথা হয়েছে৷ আপাতত দুর্গাপুর, আসানসোলে চললেও পরবর্তীকালে কলকাতার রাজপথেও এই ধরনের যানবাহন চালানোর কথা ভাবছে রাজ্য সরকার৷

The state government has decided to install monorail from Budge Budge to Ruby Connector, said Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The CM said: “We have taken decision to install monorail in the city. It will connect Budge Budge to Ruby via Taratala, New Alipore and Prince Anwar Shah Road. It will come up at a cost of Rs 4,216 crore.”

She further said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between Burn Standard Company Limited and the state transport department for execution of the project to install the monorail.

“Burn Standard Company Limited will be funding the project and the state government will provide land,” she said adding that there would not be any problem over land acquisition as minimum land would be required to construct pillars and elevated tracks would be laid connecting them.

 

বজবজ থেকে রুবি চলবে মনোরেল, জমি দেবে রাজ্য, বললেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

বজবজ থেকে রুবি মোড় পর্যন্ত মনোরেল চালু হতে চলেছে। বার্ন স্ট্যান্ডার্ড কোম্পানি ৪২১৬ কোটি টাকা খরচ করে তা তৈরি করবে। এর জন্য তারা একটি প্রস্তাব রাজ্য সরকারকে দিয়েছে। তা বিবেচনা করে মনোরেল তৈরির ব্যাপারে সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। এর জন্য পরিবহণ দপ্তরের সঙ্গে বার্ন স্ট্যান্ডার্ড কোম্পানির একটি ‘মউ’ স্বাক্ষর হবে। এর জন্য যে জমি লাগবে, তা রাজ্য সরকার ব্যবস্থা করবে বলে জানান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জানিয়েছেন, বজবজ থেকে তারাতলা, নিউ আলিপুর, প্রিন্স আনোয়ার শাহ রোড হয়ে রুবি মোড় পর্যন্ত যাবে মনোরেল। রেলের অধীনস্থ বার্ন স্ট্যান্ডার্ড কোম্পানি সেটি তৈরি করবে।

এদিন নবান্নে শিল্প উন্নয়ন এবং প্রোমোশনাল বোর্ডের বৈঠক করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। সেই বৈঠকে শিল্প ও অর্থমন্ত্রী অমিত মিত্র, বিদ্যুৎ মন্ত্রী শোভনদেব চট্টোপাধ্যায়, ক্ষুদ্রকুটির শিল্প দপ্তরের মন্ত্রী স্বপন দেবনাথ, মৎস্যমন্ত্রী চন্দ্রনাথ সিনহা, খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ মন্ত্রী রেজ্জাক মোল্লা ছিলেন। এছাড়াও সংশ্লিষ্ট দপ্তরের প্রধানসচিবরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। সেখানে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় শিল্প প্রস্তাব নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন। যে কোনও শিল্প প্রস্তাবে সব দপ্তরকে সাহায্য করতে নির্দেশ দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। আলোচনা হয় মনোরেল নিয়েও।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee declared Hooghly as an open-defecation free (ODF) district at the administrative meeting in Chinsurah today. North 24 parganas was also declared as an ODF district.

Nadia was declared as the country’s first ODF district on April 30, 2015. The State Panchayat and Rural Development Department has taken steps to make all the districts in Bengal open-defecation free by March 2019.

April 30 is celebrated as Nirmal Bangla Dibas in the State.

The CM held an administrative meeting in Chinsurah today where the chief secretary, additional chief secretaries and other senior officials were present. She then inaugurated a slew of projects.

 

 

হুগলী ও উত্তর ২৪ পরগনাকে নির্মল জেলা ঘোষণা করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

নদিয়ার পর উত্তর ২৪ পরগনা এবং হুগলী জেলা যুগ্মভাবে রাজ্যের দ্বিতীয় নির্মল জেলার ‘শিরোপা’ পেল। আজ হুগলী জেলার চুঁচুড়ায় প্রশাসনিক বৈঠকের সময় এই দুই জেলাকে নির্মল জেলা হিসেবে ঘোষণা করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

বাড়ি বাড়ি শৌচাগার নির্মাণের মাধ্যমে শহর ও গ্রামের পরিচ্ছন্নতা বজায় রাখা, স্কুলে স্কুলে স্বাস্থ্যবিধি মেনে মিড ডে মিলের খাবার পরিবেশন সহ একগুচ্ছ লক্ষ্য মাত্রা পূরণ হওয়ায় এই পুরস্কার দেওয়া হচ্ছে।

মিশন নির্মল বাংলাকে সামনে রেখে এই জেলায় অনেক ‘কমিউনিটি টয়লেট’ তৈরি করা হয়েছে। উত্তর ২৪ পরগনা জেলা একদিনে একসঙ্গে ২৫ লক্ষ মানুষকে হাত ধোয়ানোর কর্মসূচিতে অংশগ্রহণ করানোর ফলে ‘বিশ্ব রেকর্ড’ করে ফেলেছে। এমনকি গিনেস বুক অফ রেকর্ডেও মনোনয়ন মিলেছে এই জেলার।

বৃক্ষরোপণ কর্মসূচীর ওপর জোর দেওয়া হয়েছে এবং নির্মল উত্তর নামে ব্যানার টাঙিয়ে প্রশাসনের তরফে সচেতনতা কর্মসূচীও করা হয়েছে। হুগলী জেলাতেও শৌচালয় নির্মাণের কর্মসূচী সফল হয়েছে।

Bringing under one roof the whole gamut of the creative genius of Bengal – ranging from handloom-handicrafts to literature – a new “Biswa Bangla” store was thrown open to the public today at Park Street, Kolkata.

Traditional sarees, beautiful handloom products and hand-crafted marvels of Bengal, and Darjeeling tea as well as Bangla books, CDs of Bengali music and classic films will be available at the Biswa Bangla store.

It is expected to be the one-stop shop for everything Bengali – an initiative that is aimed at catering to domestic consumers as also building brand Bengal in the international market.

This is the eighth showroom of ‘Biswa Bangla’. Other showrooms are located at Dumdum Airport (domestic and international), Dakshinapan Shopping Complex, Bagdogra Airport, Rajarhat, Darjeeling and New Delhi.

 

 

পার্ক স্ট্রিটে যাত্রা শুরু নতুন বিশ্ব বাংলা শোরুমের

পুজোর আগে পশ্চিমবঙ্গবাসীদের জন্য সুখবর। কলকাতার প্রাণকেন্দ্র পার্কস্ট্রিটে খুলে গেল বিশ্ব বাংলার নতুন শোরুম। এবার  এক ছাদের তলায় পেয়ে যাবেন বাংলার হস্তশিল্প থেকে শুরু করে তাঁত, বই এমনকি আকর্ষণীয় খাদ্যসামগ্রীও।

বাংলার ঐতিহ্যবাহী শাড়ি, সুতির বস্ত্র, হস্তশিল্প থেকে দার্জিলিংয়ের চা, বাংলা বই, গানের সিডি, পুরোনো দিনের সিনেমার ডিভিডি সবই পাওয়া যাবে এখানে।

আশা করা যায় পর্যটকদের অন্যতম গন্তব্য হয়ে উঠবে বিশ্ব বাংলার এই শোরুম। দমদম বিমানবন্দর (আন্তঃদেশীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক), দক্ষিণাপন শপিং কমপ্লেক্স, বাগডোগরা বিমানবন্দর, রাজারহাট, দার্জিলিং এবং দিল্লির পর বিশ্ব বাংলার অষ্টম শোরুম এটি।

The banks of Bagjola canal, located near the upcoming international convention centre at New Town, is set for a facelift, complete with a floating market in the waters.

This is part of the beautification plan that the Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO), along with the irrigation department, has taken up for the 2 km stretch along the canal. The irrigation department will carry out a survey to look into the quality of the water and ways to improve it.

HIDCO authorities will take help of an architect from the Indian Institute of Architects implement the project, which is likely to include landscaping, flower gardens, walkways and places to sit down and take in the view. Suggested by the CM, the authorities will look into the possibility of starting a market, where merchandise will be sold on boats, like those in Srinagar, Thailand and Indonesia.

বাগজোলা খাল সংস্কারের উদ্যোগ, চালু হবে ভাসমান বাজারও

নিউ টাউনের কনভেশন সেন্টারের কাছাকাছি বাগজোলা খালের পাড় সংস্করণ করা হবে এবং এখানে চালু হবে ভাসমান বাজার।

শহরের সৌন্দর্যায়নের জন্য ২ কিলোমিটার বিস্তৃত এই খালের ওপর হিডকো এবং কৃষি দপ্তরের যৌথ উদ্যোগে এই পরিকল্পনা গ্রহণ করা হয়েছে। জলের মান পরীক্ষা করার জন্য এবং কিভাবে  সমগ্র প্রক্রিয়াটিকে আরও উন্নত করা যায় সেজন্য কৃষি দপ্তর একটি সমীক্ষা করবে।

এই প্রকল্পের নকশা তৈরির জন্য ইন্ডিয়ান ইন্সটিটিউট অফ আর্কিটেক্টের একজন স্থপতির সাহায্য নেবে হিডকো। নকশার মধ্যে থাকবে ফুলের বাগান, সাধারণ মানুষের হাঁটার ও বসার জন্য নির্দিষ্ট জায়গা। মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর প্রস্তাব অনুযায়ী শ্রীনগর, থাইল্যান্ড ও ইন্দোনেশিয়ার মতো নৌকার ওপর ভাসমান বাজার চালু করবে কর্তৃপক্ষ। নৌকাগুলিতে নিত্যপ্রয়োজনীয় ও সাংসারিক প্রয়োজনীয় সমস্ত পণ্য বিক্রি করবেন বিক্রেতারা।

The state government is planning to set up green corridor at Mal sub-division of Jalpaiguri district adjacent to Garumara sanctuary which will not only present pollution free environment but will also create employment in the area.
The district administration has a plan to start the work of setting up green corridor in various blocks of Jalpaiguri after Pujas.

Around 5 lakh people from across the state and abroad visit Dooars every year. The proposed green corridor would come up in the area like Lataguri, Moulani under Mal block and Batabari, Baradighi and Chalsa and other adjoining areas of Metli block.

Local families, hotels, resorts, schools would be included in the project. Various bio-degradable elements, kitchen produces collected from the hotels and resorts could be utilised for preparing organic manure.

জলপাইগুড়ি জেলায় সবুজ করিডোর বানানোর উদ্যোগ রাজ্যের

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার পরিকল্পনা নিয়েছে জলপাইগুড়ি জেলার মাল মাহকুমায় গরুমারা অভয়ারণ্য লাগোয়া অঞ্চলে একটি সবুজ করিডোর তৈরী করার। এর ফলে পরিবেশ দূষণ যেমন কমবে, তেমনি কর্মসংস্থানও তৈরী হবে।

দূর্গাপুজোর ঠিক পরেই এই সবুজ করিডোর তৈরীর কাজ শুরু করবে জেলা প্রশাসন। মাল ব্লকের লাটাগুড়ি, মৌলানি, মেটলী ব্লকের বাটাবাড়ি, বড়দিঘি, চালসা অঞ্চলে সবুজ করিডোর তৈরী হওয়ার কথা।

দেশি ও বিদেশি মিলিয়ে আনুমানিক পাঁচ লক্ষ পর্যটক প্রতি বছর জলপাইগুড়ি আসেন। এর ফলে তারাও উপকৃত হবে।

এই অঞ্চলের বিভিন্ন পরিবার, স্কুল, হোটেলগুলিকে এই সবুজ করিডোরে যুক্ত করা হবে। হোটেল বা বাড়িগুলি থেকে বিভিন্ন বায়ো-ডিগ্রেডেবল আবর্জনা সংগ্রহ করে জৈবিক সার উৎপাদন করা হবে।

In a bid to foil the bandh called by the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) in Darjeeling Hills, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said there will be no shut down in the hills.

“Bengal’s economy was affected by bandhs. There was enough bandh politics. There should be no more bandhs and blockades,” she said at a gathering in Murshidabad.

Three ministers of the West Bengal Cabinet, Goutam Deb, Rabindranath Ghosh and James Kujur are in the Hills to monitor the situation. The Bengal Government has also decided to enforce a three-day pay cut for it’s employees in Darjeeling who will not attend their offices during the bandh in the Hills.

Trinamool Congress organised a rally yesterday requesting people to maintain normalcy of life during the bandh.

 

পাহাড়ে বনধ বরদাস্ত নয়: মমতা

গোর্খা জনমুক্তি মোর্চার ডাকা বনধকে নস্যা९ করে মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় মঙ্গলবার বলেন পাহাড়ে বনধ বরদাস্ত করব না।

মুর্শিদাবাদের জনসভা থেকে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “বনধের কারণে বাংলার অর্থনীতি ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়। এতদিন অনেক বনধের রাজনীতি হয়েছে। আর কোন বনধ নয়”।

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ মন্ত্রীসভার তিনজন মন্ত্রী গৌতম দেব, রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঘোষ এবং জেমস কুজুরকে পাহাড়ের পরিস্থিতির ওপর নজর রাখার দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছে। বনধের কারণে দার্জিলিঙে যেসকল রাজ্য সরকারী কর্মচারী অনুপস্থিত থাকবে তাদের তিন দিনের বেতন কেটে নেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছে রাজ্য সরকার।

বনধের সময় জনজীবন স্বাভাবিক রাখার আবেদন জানিয়ে গতকাল একটি মিছিলের আয়োজন করেছিল তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস।
