The Bengal Government is planning to construct an underground network of cable TV lines in an effort to keep the city clean, state Urban Development Minister said on Wednesday.

“In New Town, we have done it and will start soon in Bidhannagar. In Kolkata, we will soon start a pilot project for underground laying of cable TV lines,” he said at the inauguration of ‘Cable TV Show’.

He said this is part of a plan by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who wants the city to look more beautiful without wires hanging from every nook and corner. According to the minister, this would also give jobs to many unemployed youth in the city.

The move would minimise chances of any outside disturbances in connectivity as sometimes wires get damaged during cyclones, felling of trees and other similar instances.

দৃশ্যদূষণ রুখতে এবার ভূগর্ভস্থ কেবল তারের ব্যবস্থা করার সিদ্ধান্ত নিল রাজ্য সরকার। তিলোত্তমাকে পরিষ্কার পরিচ্ছন্ন রাখতেই এই ব্যবস্থা।

বুধবার পুর ও নগরোন্নয়ন মন্ত্রী ফিরহাদ হাকিম জানান, ইতিমধ্যেই নিউ টাউনে ভূগর্ভস্থ কেবল তার নিয়ে যাওয়ার ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে। বিধাননগরেও এই ব্যবস্থা করা হবে। খুব শীঘ্রই কলকাতায় পাইলট প্রজেক্ট হিসেবে এই  নিয়ে যাওয়ার পরিকল্পনা হয়েছে।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর স্বপ্নের প্রকল্প ‘ক্লিন সিটি, গ্রিন সিটি’ সেখানে চারদিকে কালো ঝুলন্ত তার মহানগরীর সৌন্দর্য নষ্ট করছে। মন্ত্রীর কথামত এর ফলে বেশ কিছু বেকার লোকের কর্মসংস্থানও হবে।

এই পদক্ষেপের ফলে বাইরের বিভিন্ন আঘাত বিভিন্ন প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগ যেমন ঘূর্ণিঝড়ের সময় গাছ পড়ে গিয়ে যেসব ক্ষতি হয় সেইসব সম্ভাবনা কমবে।

The Bengal Government’s Labour department is all set to introduce a web-based technology to help unorganised sector workers in availing benefits for their social security, given by the state government, without facing any inconvenience.

With introduction of the technology, the workers of the unorganised sector do not have to walk to the labour offices to get themselves to apply for the benefits including the State Assisted Scheme of Provident Fund for Unorganised Workers. They can do the same using the web-based technology for which they just need an internet connection.

At present there are 1.5 crore workers in the unorganised sector in Bengal. The huge numbers of workers are engaged in 80 to 85 different fields of work including building constructions, van rickshaw pullers, bidi workers, truck and auto-rickshaw drivers.

In the past five years, initiatives were taken to provide benefits of the state government to the maximum number of the workers. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had introduced Samajik Mukti Card. Using the same card, a worker of unorganised sector can avail all the benefits including medical, children’s education, allowances and compensations.

Till 2011, only 26 lakh workers from the unorganised sector had gotten enrolled by the erstwhile Left Front government to help them get the benefits. With efforts and several initiatives taken by the state government after the change of guard in the state, around 85 lakh workers have been enrolled and they have got Samajik Mukti Card. The process is on to provide the card to more number of workers so that they can avail all sorts of benefits.

Now with the initiative of the State Labour department to introduce the web-based technology, the workers will no more have to incur loss of even an hour’s earning in order to visit the nearest labour offices to get their work done. In case of any mistakes done while filling up the form, the person had to visit the office again. But with the introduction of the new system, they can fill up the forms online, can check the status of their application and at the same time and also track whether the amount that a beneficiary is supposed to get has been deposited in his or her account. The entire process will be a hassle free and fast. A worker will no more have to visit the concerned offices many times to get their work done. Moreover, the worker contractors can also avail the facility to apply for licence.

At present there are around 480 labour welfare facilitation centres and 68 regional offices of the state Labour department. With the introduction of the new system, the work of the respective zones under each offices will get expedited, the official said adding that soon all the 1.5 crore workers of the unorganised sectors will start deriving the benefits given by the state government.

 

অসংগঠিত ক্ষেত্রে শ্রমিকদের জন্য নতুন প্রযুক্তি রাজ্যের

অসংগঠিত ক্ষেত্রে শ্রমিকদের সামাজিক সুরক্ষা দিতে তথ্যপ্রযুক্তির ব্যাবহার করতে চলেছে রাজ্য সরকারের শ্রমিক দপ্তর।

এই তথ্যপ্রযুক্তির ব্যবহারের ফলে অসংগঠিত ক্ষেত্রের শ্রমিকরা বিভিন্ন সুযোগ সুবিধা বা বিভিন্ন সরকারি অনুদানের জন্য তাদের শ্রমিক দপ্তরে যাওয়ার প্রয়োজন পড়বে না। ঘরে বসে ইন্টারনেট সংযোগের মাধ্যমে করতে পারবে।

বর্তমানে রাজ্যে ৮০ থেকে ৮৫ টি অসংগঠিত ক্ষেত্রে প্রায় দেড় কোটি মানুষ নিযুক্ত আছেন।

অসংগঠিত ক্ষেত্রের শ্রমিকদের উন্নয়নের জন্য গত ৫ বছরে অসংখ্য উদ্যোগ নেওয়া হয়েছে। রাজ্য সরকার সামাজিক মুক্তি কার্ড চালু করেছে। এই কার্ড ব্যবহার করে অসংগঠিত ক্ষেত্রের যে কোন শ্রমিক চিকিৎসা, শিশুদের শিক্ষা, বিভিন্ন ভাতা ও ক্ষতিপূরণ পেতে পারেন।

বিগত বাম আমলে মাত্র ২৬ লক্ষ শ্রমিকের নাম নথিভুক্ত ছিল এইসকল সুবিধা পাওয়ার ক্ষেত্রে। সরকার পরিবর্তনের পর নতুন সরকারের ঐকান্তিক প্রচেষ্টা ও উদ্যোগে এই সংখ্যা আজ ৮৫ লক্ষ।

এবার রাজ্য সরকার তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি নির্ভর পরিষেবা চালু করলে শ্রমিকদের আর দৈনিক মজুরি নষ্ট হবে না। সাধারনত কোনও ফর্মে ভুল হলে শ্রমিককে আবারও শ্রমিক দপ্তরে যেতে হত ভুল সংশোধনের জন্য, কিন্তু, তথ্য প্রযুক্তি নির্ভর সুবিধা পাওয়া গেলে শ্রমিকরা তাদের নিজের কর্মস্থল থেকেই সব কিছু জেনে নিতে পারবে। এই পুরো প্রক্রিয়াটি বিনামুল্যে ও তাড়াতাড়ি হবে।  এই প্রযুক্তির মাধ্যমে শ্রমিক কন্ট্রাক্টররা তাদের লাইসেন্সও পাবে।

বর্তমানে রাজ্য শ্রমিক দপ্তরের ৪৮০টি শ্রমিক কল্যাণ কেন্দ্র ও ৬৮টি রিজিওনাল অফিস আছে।

Bengal Finance Minister Dr Amit Mitra on Wednesday staged a walkout from a pre-Budget meeting saying there was ‘financial emergency and ‘political environment of fear’ in the country.

Dr Mitra, who was in full attendance at the two-day meeting of the GST Council chaired by the Union Finance Minister that ended on Wednesday, said the Union Budget had become a “meaningless” exercise after Prime Minister, in his address to the nation on new year’s eve, made announcements similar to a Budget presentation.

He said that before walking out, he made the Union Finance Minister, who had called the meeting, hear the expectations of States on his fourth budget to be presented on February 1 and also make him aware of the “financial emergency” imposed by demonetisation and the job losses it has led to. “I wanted the Finance Minister to hear the reality on the ground, the financial emergency in the country, the political environment of fear all around,” he told after emerging from the meeting.

The Trinamool Congress, he said, is on Wednesday is demonstrating against “the political emergency that seems to have happened at every nook and corner on every matter.”  Dr Mitra also said currency demonetiation has led to closure of small industries and left hundreds jobless across the country, including the BJP-ruled States.

দেশজুড়ে চলা ‘আর্থিক জরুরি অবস্থা’ এবং কেন্দ্রের প্রতিহিংসার রাজনীতির প্রতিবাদ করে বুধবার কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের প্রাক বাজেট বৈঠক বয়কট করেন অর্থমন্ত্রী অমিত মিত্র। তিনি বলেন, নোট বাতিলের পর দেশে অর্থনৈতিক জরুরি অবস্থা চলছে৷ এই পরিস্থিতিতে প্রাক-বাজেট নিয়ে আলোচনা অর্থহীন৷

দুদিনের জিএসটি সংক্রান্ত বৈঠক সেশের পর বুধবার ছিল প্রাক বাজেট সেশন। তাঁর অভিযোগ। “প্রধানমন্ত্রী ইতিমধ্যেই বাজেটের সমস্ত বিষয় ঘোষণা করে দিয়েছেন। তাই বাজেট এখন গুরুত্বহীন বিষয়। ইতিহাসে এই প্রথমবার বাজেট গুরুত্বহীন হয়ে গেল। আমি এর প্রতিবাদ করে অয়াক আউট করলাম”।

এদিন সাংবাদিকদের সামনে ক্ষোভ প্রকাশ করে অর্থমন্ত্রী বলেন, নোটবাতিলের পর থেকে জাতীয় অর্থনীতির মেরুদণ্ড ভেঙে গেছে। যার প্রভাব পড়েছে সারা রাজ্যে।  বিভিন্ন কলকারখানা, ক্ষুদ্র ব্যবসা বন্ধ হয়ে গেছে। শ্রমিকরা মজুরি পাচ্ছেন না।

তাঁর অভিযোগ শুধুমাত্র অর্থনৈতিক জরুরি অবস্থা নয় দেশ জুড়ে ভয়াবহ পরিস্থিতি তৈরি হয়েছে। ভয়ের রাজনীতি চলছে।

36 MPs belonging to Trinamool Congress were rounded up and detained by Delhi Police while they were peacefully holding a demonstration outside the Prime Minister’s residence. Several veteran MPs were manhandled, women MPs were also badly behaved with.

The MPs were taken to Tughlaq Road Police Station where they sat on a dharna.

Trinamool delegation meets the Governor

To protest against the political vendetta of the Centre and the emergency-like situation prevailing in the country, Trinamool today organised massive protests across the State. A delegation of Trinamool MLAs met the Governor to register the party’s complaint against the constant attacks on federal structure.

After meeting the Governor, Secretary General of the party, Partha Chatterjee said: “We have complained to the Governor about attempts to break the federal structure Without consulting the State Govt CRPF was deployed in Bengal outside BJP party office. This is an assault on federalism.”

“Just because Trinamool is vocal about people’s interest in demonetisation issue, conspiracies are being hatched to malign the party Why should leaders of other parties, like Babul Supriyo who are associated with chit funds, not be arrested We cannot be silenced by these fear-mongering tactics. We are with the people. We will stand beside the people,” he added.

“Our backbone cannot be broken like this. We will continue our movement against DeMonetisation Leaders from outside, who do not know the history or geography of Bengal cannot scare us. Mamata Banerjee has the support of people,” Partha Chatterjee said.

Protests across Bengal

Rallies were taken out in various parts of Kolkata. Protests were held in Coochbehar, Singut, Dankuni, Asansol, Kulti, East Midnapore, Malda, Canning, Sodepur, Titagarh, Kharagpur, Nadia, Hooghly, north Dinajpur, Haldia and several other places.

Dharnas were organised outside CGO Complex in Kolkata as well as CBI office in Odisha.

 

কেন্দ্রের রাজনৈতিক প্রতিহিংসার বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ সমগ্র বাংলা জুড়ে

প্রধানমন্ত্রীর বাসবভবনের সামনে শান্তিপূর্ণভাবে বিক্ষোভ দেখানোর সময় তৃণমূল কংগ্রেসের ৩৬ জন সাংসদকে আটক করে দিল্লি পুলিশ। আটক করার সময় পুলিশ তাদের চূড়ান্ত হেনস্থা করেছে। ঘটনায় আহত হয়েছেন দুই সাংসদ। এমনকি মহিলা সাংসদদেরও রেয়াত করা হয়নি।

আটক করার পর সাংসদদের তুঘলক রোড পুলিশ স্টেশনে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয় সেখানে তারা ধর্নায় বসেন।

তৃণমূলের প্রতিনিধি দলের সঙ্গে রাজ্যপালের সাক্ষাৎ 

এদিন তৃণমূলের শীর্ষ নেতা-নেত্রীদের এক প্রতিনিধি দলও রাজভবনে রাজ্যপালের সঙ্গে দেখা করেছেন। রাজ্যপালের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাতের পর সাংবাদিকদের মুখোমুখি হয়ে পার্থ চট্টোপাধ্যায় জানান, “কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার যুক্তরাষ্ট্রীয় কাঠামোকে ধ্বংস করার চেষ্টা করছে এ বিষয়ে আমরা রাজ্যপালের কাছে অভিযোগ জানানো হয়েছে। রাজ্য সরকারের সঙ্গে আলোচনা না করেই ওরা বিজেপির দলীয় কার্যালয়ের বাইরে কেন্দ্রীয় বাহিনী মোতায়েন করেছে – এটা গণতন্ত্রের অপমান”।

বাবুল সুপ্রিয়র মত অন্য দলের নেতারা যারা চিট ফান্ডের সঙ্গে যুক্ত তাদের কেন গ্রেফতার করা হচ্ছে না এই প্রশ্নও তুলেছেন তিনি। তাঁর বক্তব্য, “আমরা এই ধরনের আক্রমণে ভয় পেয়ে চুপ করে থাকব না। আমরা মানুষের পাশে আছি, মানুষের পাশে থাকব। এভাবে আমাদের শিরদাঁড়া ভাঙা যাবে না। নোট বাতিলের বিরুদ্ধে আমাদের প্রতিবাদ চলবে”।

তিনি আরও বলেন, “বাইরের নেতারা যারা কখনও বাংলার রাজনৈতিক ইতিহাসে ছিলই না, তারা আমাদের ভয় দেখাতে পারবে না কারণ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের সঙ্গে মানুষের সমর্থন আছে। একথা গোপন নয় যে বিজেপির কেউ কেউ রাজ্যপালকে ও তাঁর আসনকে ব্যবহার করার চেষ্টা করছেন। রাজ্যপাল এই ঘটনায় দুঃখিত। রাজ্যপালকে এভাবে কালিমালিপ্ত করার চেষ্টাকে আমরা তীব্র ভাষায় নিন্দা করছি”।

বাংলা জুড়ে প্রতিবাদ

কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের রাজনৈতিক প্রতিহিংসার প্রতিবাদে বুধবার সকাল থেকে পথে নেমেছে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস৷ মহানগর সহ রাজ্যের প্রতিটি প্রান্তে তৃণমূল কর্মীদের মিছিল ও প্রতিবাদে উত্তাল রাজ্য ৷

কলকাতার আলিপুর, গোপালনগর, কাঁকুড়গাছি সহ বিভিন্ন এলাকায় প্রতিবাদ মিছিল করেছে তৃণমূল কর্মীরা।

এদিন ভুবনেশ্বরে সিবিআই অফিসের বাইরেও বিক্ষোভ কর্মসূচি পালন করে তৃণমূল সমর্থকরা।

এছাড়া, কোচবিহার, আলিপুরদুয়ার, সিঙ্গুর ও ডানকুনি আসানসোল, পূর্ব মেদিনীপুর, ওড়িশা সীমানায়, মালদহের ফোয়ারা মোড় ক্যানিং, সোদপুর, কোচবিহার, টিটাগড়ে বিটি রোড, খড়গপুর ৬ নং জাতীয় সড়ক, নদিয়া, হুগলি, উত্তর দিনাজপুর ও হলদিয়াতেও প্রতিবাদ মিছিল হয়।

Welcoming the judgment of Supreme Court that any appeal for votes on the ground of “religion, race, caste, community or language” will amount to “corrupt practice”, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said: “We have to build a united country. I don’t support riots and will not allow anyone to instigate the same that will affect the harmony of the state.”

She was speaking at the inauguration of Jangalmahal Festival in Midnapore on Tuesday.

“I welcome the judgement of the Supreme Court. Religion doesn’t mean vote bank. It is not right if someone creates rivalry between two groups for their own benefit. I condemn such move and would fight till the end to keep Bengal free from all such ill effects,” she said.

“Bengal is the land of renaissance and it is not the place for such cheap politics. In a bid to ensure safety and security of the people I will not allow anyone to create any situation that would hamper the peace in any parts of the state,” she said, adding that steps will be taken to restrict anyone from creating any fresh trouble.

“We will continue to fight against those who are trying to inflame communal passion in the country and engineer riots. We will thwart their ill designs,” she said.

Asserting she would go as far necessary to uphold secularism, the Bengal CM said, “Won’t allow anyone to play dirty politics by the name of religion”.

She said that the Centre is threatening using its agencies like Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation. “The agencies are kept ready to take action against the people those who will raise their voice against the Centre’s decisions those are hampering the federal structure of the country,” Banerjee said adding that Modi government has nothing to give to the people and PM is banking either on notebandi (demonetisation) or dangafandi (conspiracy to create riot).

But such politics cannot continue for long, she said adding that “it causes damage to the future of the country. The people of the country gave their blessing once, but it will not give a second opportunity.”

 

বাংলায় সাম্প্রদায়িক সম্প্রীতি নষ্ট হতে দেব নাঃ মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

ধর্মের নামে রাজনীতি করা যাবে না সুপ্রিম কোর্টের এই নির্দেশকে স্বাগত জানান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

গতকাল জঙ্গলমহল উৎসবের উদ্বোধনী অনুষ্ঠানে গিয়ে তিনি বলেন, “আমাদের দেশকে একতার বন্ধনে বাঁধতে হবে। আমি দাঙ্গাকে সমর্থন করি না, এরাজ্যে কেউ দাঙ্গা লাগানোর চেষ্টা করলে তা বরদাস্ত করা হবে না”।

তিনি আরও বলেন, “আমি সুপ্রিম কোর্টের নির্দেশকে স্বাগত জানাচ্ছি। ধর্মের নামে কোন ভোট নয়। কেউ নিজের  স্বার্থসিদ্ধির জন্য সাধারণ মানুষের মধ্যে ঝামেলা লাগাবে এটা কাম্য নয়। আমি এই ধরনের কার্যকলাপের জন্য ব্যাথিত। আমি শেষ অবধি লড়ে যাব। আমি সাধারণ মানুষের পাশে আছি, থাকব”।

“বাংলা নবজাগরণের ভুমি, এখানে এসব সস্তার রাজনীতি চলবে না। বাংলার শান্তি শৃঙ্খলায় বিঘ্নিত হয় এরকম কোন কাজ আমরা মেনে নেব না। এই ধরনের কাজ যারা করবে প্রয়োজনে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে উপযুক্ত ব্যাবস্থা নেওয়া হবে। সাম্প্রদায়িক সম্প্রীতি বজায় রাখতে যা করনীয় সেই সবকিছুই সরকার করবে বলে জানান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। এখানে ধর্মের নামে কাউকে রাজনীতি করতে দেওয়া হবে না” বলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

তিনি আরও বলেন, “কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের বিরোধিতা করলেই ওরা সিবিআই ও ইডি’র মত কেন্দ্রীয় সংস্থাগুলির মাধ্যমে ভয় দেখাচ্ছে। তাদের এইসকল কার্যকলাপের ফলে যুক্তরাষ্ট্রীয় পরিকাঠামো বিপর্যস্ত হচ্ছে। মোদী সরকারের জনগণকে দেওয়ার  কিছু নেই, প্রধানমন্ত্রী ব্যস্ত আছেন হয় নোটবন্দি না হয় দাঙ্গা লাগানোর ফন্দি নিয়ে। এসব দীর্ঘদিন চলতে পারে না। এর ফলে দেশের ভবিষ্যৎ নষ্ট হচ্ছে। জনগণ একবার তাদের ক্ষমতায় এনেছেন মানুষের চাহিদা পূরণ করার জন্য, সেই কাজে তারা ব্যর্থ হলে মানুষ তাদের দ্বিতীয়বার আর সুযোগ দেবে না”।

With less than three weeks left for the commencement of the third edition of Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS), the state government is ready with its ‘Advantage Bengal’ campaign.

The campaign will specifically showcase advantages and opportunities for investment in Bengal to industry captains and foreign delegates at the summit.

‘Advantage Bengal’ will be promoted at different sessions, including the ‘inaugural plenary session’, multi-country interactions and B2B meetings.

The campaign will highlight the strategic location of the Bengal, which is advantageous for trade purposes. The campaign says that Bengal is the gateway to South-East Asia and North-East India. It shares international borders with Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. Moreover, the state is well connected with Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia – which are part of the booming Asian economy.

All 10 members of ASEAN would be participating in the business summit. Delegations from Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam have already confirmed their presence.

There are many other specialities that will be highlighted through the ‘Advantage Bengal’ campaign. Bengal has the third largest road network in the country, with more than 3,15,404 km of roads. Richly-endowed with natural maritime advantages, Bengal has 950 km of water front. It is the leading state in the country in terms of spread density and reach of National Inland Waterways. It has two international airports at Kolkata and Bagdogra. It has around 4,000 km of railway tracks, including the second largest Metro Rail network in the country.

‘Advantage Bengal’ will also underline the power scenario of the state. Bengal is leading in power generation, distribution, quality and availability in India. The feature which will be showcased prominently will be the fact that Bengal achieved India’s highest bank credit flow to the tune of $15 billion to MSMEs in the last five years since 2011-12, which Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Finance Minister Dr Amit Mitra will highlight to industrialists.

Port, mining and MSME will be the thrust areas at the BGBS 2017. The state government recently framed its Maritime Policy with the help of global analytical company CRISIL. Moreover, the government has also opened the door to widen ‘post-based industrialisation’ to add a sharp edge in Bengal’s trade scenario.

বিশ্ব বঙ্গ বাণিজ্য সম্মেলন ২০১৭ শুরুর মাত্র তিন সপ্তাহ আগে রাজ্য সরকার সর্বতভাবে প্রস্তুত। সম্মেলনের প্রচারের থিম “Advantage Bengal” বাংলায় বিনিয়োগ করার সুবিধা তুলে ধরা হবে দেশ ও বিদেশের বাণিজ্য প্রতিনিধি দলের সামনে।

এই প্রচারের মাধ্যমে তুলে ধরা হবে বাংলার উল্লেখযোগ্য ভৌগলিক অবস্থানকে যা বানিজ্যের ক্ষেত্রে সুবিধার। বাংলাই হচ্ছে দক্ষিন-পূর্ব এশিয়া ও উত্তর-পূর্ব ভারতের প্রবেশদ্বার। বাংলাদেশ, নেপাল ও ভূটানের সঙ্গে যেমন বাংলা সীমান্ত ভাগ করে নেয়, তেমনই থাইল্যান্ড, সিঙ্গাপুর ও মালয়েশিয়ার মত খুব প্রগতিশীল এশিয়ান দেশগুলির খুব কাছাকাছি অবস্থিত এই রাজ্য।

ASEAN কমিটির ১০জন প্রতিনিধি এই সম্মেলনে অংশগ্রহণ করবেন। মালয়েশিয়া, মায়ানমার, ফিলিপিন্স, সিঙ্গাপুর, থাইল্যান্ড ও ভিয়েতনামের প্রতিনিধিরা ইতিমধ্যেই তাদের অংশ নেওয়ার কথা জানিয়ে দিয়েছে।

দেশের তৃতীয় দীর্ঘতম সড়কপথ আছে বাংলাতেই (৩,১৫,৪০৪ কিঃ মিঃ এর অধিক) যা বানিজ্যের জন্য খুব উপযোগী। রয়েছে ৯৫০ কিঃ মিঃ জলপথ। বাংলাতে দু’টি আন্তর্জাতিক বিমানবন্দর আছে কলকাতা ও বাগডোগরা’য়। আছে ৪০০০ কিঃ মিঃ রেলপথ, দেশের দ্বিতীয় দীর্ঘতম মেট্রো রেল।

বাংলার বিদ্যুৎ ভাণ্ডারের কথাও তুলে ধরা হবে সম্মেলনে। বিদ্যুৎ উৎপাদন, বণ্টন, গুনমান ও পরিমানে বাংলা দেশের মধ্যে অগ্রণী। ব্যাঙ্ক থেকে মাঝারি ও খুদ্র শিল্পে ঋণ পাওয়ার ক্ষেত্রেও গত পাঁচ বছর ধরে দেশের মধ্যে বাংলাই শীর্ষে, এ কথাও তুলে ধরা হবে।

বন্দর, খনি, ক্ষুদ্র ও মাঝারি শিল্পই মুল থিম হবে এবারের বাণিজ্য সম্মেলনের।

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today gave away Tele Academy Awards 2016-17 at Nazrul Manch. The prize distribution was followed by a colourful cultural programme with performances by Bengali television artistes.

Speaking on the occasion, the CM said: “The artistes and technicians who are associated with the television industry are in the reckoning worldwide. The tele artistes and technicians are in no way less than the cine industry. Tele serials can become a medium of mass awareness. You can raise awareness about social evils.”

The West Bengal Tele Academy Awards covers the entire array of television productions, rewarding excellence in production, programming, photography and technology, among others. The awards have been constituted as a token of respect and gratitude to the entire Film and TV industry in West Bengal.

Actors and technicians working in the television industry will be awarded for their outstanding performances through their career as well as in the last year. A Hall of Fame recognition has also been instituted since 2015.

 

টেলি অ্যাকাডেমি পুরস্কার প্রদান করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

আজ নজরুল মঞ্চে টেলি অ্যাকাডেমি পুরস্কার (২০১৬-১৭) তুলে দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। নজরুল মঞ্চে হয় এই অনুষ্ঠান।

এই টেলি অ্যাকাডেমি অ্যাওয়ার্ড ছোট পর্দার টেলি জগতের বিভিন্ন অভিনেতা অভিনেত্রী ও কলাকুশলীদের সম্মান জানানোর একটি প্রয়াস।

20 MPs and senior Ministers met Sudip Da from outside. We gave him the confidence that we are all together. We are fighting this Modi Govt and Amit Shah. We will continue out fight against Note Bandi. This is not the end. We will fight this till the finish. We will sit on a dharna at our Parliamentary Party Office in Delhi tomorrow.

Our leader Mamata Banerjee asked us to stand beside Sudip Da. We will not bow down our heads. Our movement cannot be stopped by politics of vendetta. We will launch series of protests from tomorrow in Bengal & other states.

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today inaugurated the third edition of Jangalmahal Utsav from the Medinipur College Ground in Paschim Medinipur district today. She also distributed prizes for the Jangalmahal Cup. The festival will be held from January 3 to 10.

The festival will showcase the region’s rich traditional cultural forms including dance forms like Chung, Rono-pa, Pata, Jhumur, Chhou, Bhadu-Tusu, Raibeshe and many others. Bengal’s folk music will add to the attractions. Dhamsa and madol, two popular folk percussion instruments of the State, were distributed among 480 cultural groups from 24 blocks.

Around 40 stalls and 4 pavillions will showcase and promote handicrafts from the Jangalmahal region.

The Jangalmahal Cup, organised by the State Youth Welfare Department in association with West Bengal Police, the  has been a tremendous success during the last few years. It was held in the districts of Paschim Medinipur, Bankura, Purulia and Birbhum, with competitions in sports like football, kabaddi and archery. The cultural competition included Chhou and other tribal dance forms.

 

Following are some of the key points from the Chief Minister’s speech:

  • The Jangalmahal Utsav starts today; it will showcase different forms of tribal culture.
  • I am happy that 45000 young sportspersons are participating in the Jangalmahal Cup.
  • We have allocated Rs 1 lakh per police station to organise sporting events in their areas.
  • I welcome the ruling of the Hon’ble Supreme Court banning politics of religion.
  • Life is about celebration and togetherness, not about politics and slander.
  • We do not support riots and disturbing the communal harmony. The Government will take strong action against this.
  • True religion is about respecting and loving all religions and standing by one another.
  • Bengal does not support anyone who incites violence among religions communities.
  • The Bengal Government will crack down heavily on anyone who tries to spread communal violence and disrupt peace.
  • Our Government provides benefits through Kanyashree, Sikhshashree, Yubashree, Sabuj Shree, Sabuj Sathi and many other schemes.
  • All the 553 people who received prizes today will be given jobs by the Government.
  • Kalimpong, Asansol and Jhargram will become new districts by Poila Boishakh.

 

 

তৃতীয় জঙ্গলমহল উৎসবের সূচনা করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

আজ পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুরের কলেজ মাঠে তৃতীয় জঙ্গলমহল উৎসবের উদ্বোধন করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। জঙ্গলমহল কাপ-এর পুরস্কার বিতরণী অনুষ্ঠানও হল আজ। বিজয়ীদের হাতে জঙ্গলমহল কাপ তুলে দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। জঙ্গলমহল উৎসব চলবে ৩-১০ জানুয়ারি পর্যন্ত।

পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের যুব কল্যাণ দপ্তর আয়োজিত এই অনুষ্ঠান থেকে মানুষের হাতে বিভিন্ন সরকারি পরিষেবাও তুলে দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। একইসঙ্গে জঙ্গলমহল অন্তর্ভুক্ত ২৪ টি ব্লকের ৪৮০ টি সাংস্কৃতিক গোষ্ঠীকে ধামসা-মাদল প্রদান করা হয়।

এই উৎসবে জঙ্গলমহলের পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর, বাঁকুড়া, পুরুলিয়ার আদিবাসী সাংস্কৃতিক গোষ্ঠীর নৃত্য গীত পরিবেশিত হবে – চাং নৃত্য, রণপা নৃত্য, পাতা নাচ, ঝুমুর গান, ছাপল নৃত্য, ভাদু-টুসু, ঘোড়া নাচ, নাটুয়া নাচ, ছৌ নাচ, সারপা নৃত্য, করম নৃত্য, বাহা নৃত্য, ভুয়াং নৃত্য, লোকসঙ্গীত, পাইক-ঢালি-রায়বেঁশে নৃত্য এবং অন্যান্য লোকসঙ্গীত ও নৃত্য, অন্যান্য লোকসঙ্গীত এবং ত্রিপুরা, মণিপুর ও ওড়িশার প্রাদেশিক লোকনৃত্য।

মেলা প্রাঙ্গনে রয়েছে বিভিন্ন দপ্তরের ৪০ টি স্টল, সঙ্গে পশ্চিমাঞ্চল উন্নয়ন পর্ষদ, পুরুলিয়া বাঁকুড়া ও পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলার ৪ টি সুদৃশ্য প্যাভিলিয়ন ও জঙ্গলমহলের ৬০ টি হস্তশিল্প বিক্রয় কেন্দ্র।

Bengal’s longest free WiFi-enabled road was inaugurated today. Free WiFi will be available over the entire stretch on Biswa Bangla Sarani, between its intersection with Eastern Metropolitan bypass on one side and VIP Road on the other via New Town covering a distance of 13.5km.

The inaugural programme was held at Nabadiganta Industrial Township Authority (NTIA) where the State Urban Development Minister did the honours. The step has been taken to facilitate IT professionals.

Free WiFi will also be available on Ring road. So long this facility was available from VIP Road — Biswa Bangla Sarani intersection till Technopolis more.

The facility will be extended till EM bypass on Tuesday. WiFi for the first half an hour will be free of cost and subsequently, the service will require one to pay. Free WiFi connection will help Airport-bound professionals taking Biswa Bangla Sarani.

The thoroughfare is used by hundreds of IT professionals from their homes to their working place. The facility will help them along with students going to different educational institutions in New Town.

আজ উদ্বোধন করা হল বাংলার দীর্ঘতম WiFi যুক্ত সড়কের। এই পরিষেবা পাওয়া যাবে পুরো বিশ্ববঙ্গ সরণি জুড়ে। একদিকে ই এম বাইপাসের সংযোগস্থল থেকে অন্যদিকে নিউ টাউন হয়ে ভিআইপি রোডের সংযোগস্থল পর্যন্ত মোট ১৩.৫ কিঃ মিঃ রাস্তাজুড়েই মিলবে এই পরিষেবা।

আজ নবদিগন্ত ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল টাউনশিপ আধিকারিক ভবনে এই পরিষেবার উদ্বোধন করলেন রাজ্যের নগরোন্নয়ন মন্ত্রী।

রিং রোডেও এই পরিষেবা পাওয়া যাবে। এতদিন পর্যন্ত এই WiFi পরিষেবা শুধুমাত্র ভিআইপি রোড ও বিশ্ববঙ্গ সরণির সংযোগস্থল থেকে টেকনোপলিস পর্যন্ত পাওয়া যেত। আজ থেকে ই এম বাইপাস পর্যন্ত বাড়ানো হল।

প্রথম আধ ঘণ্টা এই পরিষেবা বিনামুল্যে পাওয়া যাবে WiFi। এই পরিষেবার মাধ্যমে বিশ্ববঙ্গ সরণি থেকে বিমানবন্দরগামী রাস্তায় যে তথ্যপ্রযুক্তি কোম্পানি গুলি আছে সেখানে কর্মরত পেশাদারদের সাহায্য হবে। এছাড়াও নিউটাউনের বিভিন্ন শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠানের ছাত্র ছাত্রীদেরও সাহায্য হবে।
