Rajya Sabala Mela from December 3 to 11 in Kolkata
The Bengal Government is organising the Rajya Sabala Mela from December 3, that is, today to December 11 at Central Park in Salt Lake, Kolkata.
The fair is a Bengal Government initiative to promote the creations of self-help groups (SHG). Handifcrafts and handloom products, food products and various other types of products made by members of SHGs across the State are being sold at the fair.
Through the Muktidhara scheme, a project initiated by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, SHGs have been successful in creating a thriving employment scenario in the rural regions of the State.
The Sabala Mela was inaugurated yesterday by the Bengal Self-Help Group & Self-Employment Minister. The eighth edition of this fair has 250 stalls.
Many of these self-help groups are run by and employ rural women. Hence, the SHGs have also been successful in empowering women, many of whom are now the key earners in their families.
The Minister, during his speech at the inauguration ceremony, also informed that the State Government recently sent some SHGs to India International Trade Fair in Delhi, where, happily for them, most of their products were sold out.
স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠীর সবলা মেলা শুরু হলো
সল্টলেকের সেন্ট্রাল পার্কে শুরু হলো রাজ্য ‘সবলা মেলা’। রাজ্য সরকারের স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠী ও স্বনিযুক্তি দফতরের উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত এই মেলা। জেলার স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠীর প্রতিনিধিদের তৈরি সামগ্রী নিয়ে আড়াইশোর বেশি স্টল হয়েছে সবলা মেলায়। মেলার সূচনা করেন রাজ্যের স্বনির্ভর ও স্বনিযুক্তি দফতরের মন্ত্রী।
বাংলার নিজস্ব হস্তশিল্পকে তুলে ধরা হলে এই মেলার মধ্যে দিয়ে। ২৫০টি স্টলে পাওয়া যাচ্ছে বাংলার দেশজ হস্তশিল্পের অনন্য ভান্ডার।
স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠী ও স্বনিযুক্তি বিভাগের পৃষ্টপোষকতায় এবং প্রশাসনিক নিয়ন্ত্রণে ‘মুক্তিধারা’ প্রকল্পটির আওতায় স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠীর সদস্যদের জন্য সুদূরপ্রসারী কর্মসংস্থানের ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে এর আগেই। সেই সব স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠীর মহিলারাই এবার সবল মেলার অষ্টম বর্ষের প্রধান মুখ।
