Poor to benefit from KMC move – 11 lakh get medical insurance
The Kolkata Municipal Corporation has set precedence by providing free medical insurance in collaboration with National Insurance to 11 lakh citizens from 1.5 lakh families belonging to the BPL category. Apart from this allowance schemes for widows, senior citizens and physically challenged citizens, and families affected by major accidents were also announced. However, the honorable Mayor has reminded that if there are any errors in the BPL list, they will be corrected and revised with immediate effect.
