Opposition bowled out in Jangalmahal: Abhishek Banerjee in Bankura
Trinamool Youth Congress President and MP Abhishek Banerjee said that the people of Jangalmahal have hit sixes in every ball of the 18-over match and ousted the Opposition beyond the boundaries, while referring to the first day of the first phase of the Assembly elections in Bengal.
The young leader held three rallies in the district on Tuesday, in Saltora, Bishnupur and Indus.
He said that the developmental work in the last four-and-a-half years has brought a huge wave of change in West Bengal, which had been made barren prior to 2011.
He pointed out that while the main intention of the CPI(M)-Congress alliance is just to come to power, Trinamool is more inclined to serve the people of the State with developmental programmes like Kanyashree, Yuvashree, rice at Rs 2 per kg and many such benefits.

তৃণমূল যুব কংগ্রেস সভাপতি অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এদিন তার প্রচারসভায় বলেন আসন্ন বিধানসভা নির্বাচনের প্রথম দফার নির্বাচনে জঙ্গলমহলের মানুষ সত্যি ১৮ ওভারের খেলায় ছক্কা মেরেছেন যাতে বিরোধীরা একেবারে বাউণ্ডারির বাইরে চলে যায়।
মঙ্গলবার বাঁকুড়ার শালতোড়া, বিষ্ণুপুর এবং ইন্দাসে জনসভা করেন অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।
গত সাড়ে চার বছরে সারা রাজ্যজুড়ে যে উন্নয়ন হয়েছে গত ৩৪ বছরে তার ১০ শতাংশ কাজও বাংলায় হয়নি।
তিনি বলেন আজ ক্ষমতায় আসার জন্য সিপিএম-কংগ্রেস জোট করেছে। তৃণমূল ক্ষমতায় এসে শুধু উন্নয়নের জন্য কাজ করেছে। সবুজ সাথী থেকে কন্যাশ্রী, যুবশ্রী সহ ২ টাকা কেজি চাল পাচ্ছে রাজ্যের মানুষ।
