Mother Teresa Wax Museum in Rajarhat to house statues of legends like Lata, Amitabh, Shahrukh Khan
WB CM Ms Mamata Banerjee is going to inaugurate the Wax Museum at Rajarhat on November 10, 2014. The museum, which has been named after Mother Teresa by the Chief Minister, will house wax statues of legends like Lata Mangeshkar, Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan.
The museum has been planned on the lines of London's Madame Tussauds wax museum. It is located at Rajarhat New Town on a 5000 sq ft area on the top floor of the Finance Centre building.
Mother Teresa Wax Museum will be the city's first ever wax museum and a major tourist attraction in the city. The authorities had invited sculptors and artists to give them life size exquisite wax statues of eminent personalities.
After coming to power, developing Rajarhat has been a priority for WB CM. From the Eco Park to a Convention Centre, Rabindra Tirtha to Nazrul Tirtha – Rajarhat Newtown is gradually becoming a world-class tourist destination. HIDCO has already launched a bus-tour around Rajarhat for tourists.
