Labour Dept for massive campaign to bring in more people under SSY
0The State Labour Department is going to start a massive campaign soon to bring in more people from the unorganised sectors under Samajik Suraksha Yojana (SSY).
Already, 92 lakh people have been made beneficiaries of different schemes under SSY. The department also introduced an online system last October to enable people from any part of the state to apply for schemes under SSY without having to visit the offices of the department.
It may be mentioned that SSY was introduced by converging the social security schemes for construction workers, transport workers, bidi workers and workers in other unorganised sectors. Under the scheme, they get education benefits for their children, support for marriage of two of their daughters, health cards and other benefits.
In this connection, it also needs mention that the Trinamool Congress Government started the Samarthan Scheme last February for unorganised sector workers from Bengal working in other states, left jobless after the promulgation of demonetisation by the Central Government, which has turned out to be a massive fraud committed on the people of the country.

অসংগঠিত ক্ষেত্রের আরও শ্রমিককে সামাজিক সুরক্ষা প্রকল্পে সংযুক্ত করতে সচেতনতা প্রচার করবে রাজ্য শ্রম দপ্তর।
ইতিমধ্যেই সামাজিক সুরক্ষা প্রকল্পের অন্তর্গত বিভিন্ন প্রকল্পে ৯২ লক্ষ মানুষ উপকৃত। গত বছর অক্টোবর মাসে রাজ্য সরকার এই প্রকল্পে অনলাইন আবেদন করার ব্যাবস্থা চালু করেছে, যার ফলে শ্রম দপ্তরের অফিসে না গিয়েও যে কোনও শ্রমিক এই প্রকল্পে নিজেকে নথিভুক্ত করতে পারেন।
অসংগঠিত ক্ষেত্রে বেশি শ্রমিককে এই প্রকল্পের আওতায় আনাটাই এই প্রচারের মূল লক্ষ্য হবে সেটাই।
প্রসঙ্গত, নির্মাণ শ্রমিক, বিড়ি কর্মী ও অন্যান্য অসংগঠিত ক্ষেত্রের শ্রমিকদের জন্য যে সব সামাজিক সুরক্ষা প্রকল্প ছিল, সেগুলিকে একত্রিত করেই এই সামাজিক সুরক্ষা প্রকল্পের সূচনা হয়। এই প্রকল্পে শ্রমিকরা নিজেদের স্বাস্থ্য সুরক্ষা থেকে শুরু করে সন্তানের শিক্ষা, এমনকি মেয়ের বিয়ে দেওয়ার জন্যও সুবিধা পাবেন।
প্রসঙ্গত, যে সব শ্রমিক নোটবন্দির ফলে ভিন রাজ্যে কাজ হারিয়ে বাংলায় ফিরে এসেছে, তাদের জন্য ‘সমর্থন’ প্রকল্প চালু করেছে রাজ্য সরকার। এই প্রকল্পে ৫০০০০টি পরিবারকে ৫০০০০ টাকা আর্থিক সহায়তা করা হবে নতুন উদ্যোগ শুরু করতে।
