CM attends Valediction Sesquicentennial Celebrations of the Calcutta High Court at Netaji Indoor Stadium
West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee on May 5, 2013, lights the lamp during the valediction sesquicentennial celebrations of the Calcutta High Court at the Netaji Indoor Stadium. President Pranab Mukherjee and Chief Justice of India Altamas Kabir were also present at the celebration. 
Ms Banerjee, in her address to the gathering highlighted the importance of the executive, judiciary and legislature working together. She said, “If they function together, it would be better for the people. I respect the judiciary as they perform their job to protect the interests of people.“ 
The Chief Minister praised the judiciary and exhorted them to continue and uphold the true values of justice while delivering judgment. She reiterated that justice delayed is justice denied. She said,“I expect the judges should be truthful to their duty, so that they deliver the right judgment and keep people well. I would like the judiciary to work to give relief to the people.“
