Bengal felicitates 40 people on International Day of Persons with Disabilities
The Bengal Government felicitated forty specially-abled people on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3.
The State Government organised various programme all through the day at different parts of the city to celebrate the occasion.
While handicrafts made by specially-abled people are on display at different fairs, camps for vaccination, health check-ups, etc for specially-abled people are also being organised.
On this occasion, around 500 flower plants were distributed among visitors to the Eco Park in Rajarhat, Newtown, which had the participation of more than hundred specially-abled people.

আন্তর্জাতিক প্রতিবন্ধকতা দিবসে ৪০ জনকে পুরস্কৃত করল রাজ্য
গত ৩ ডিসেম্বর আন্তর্জাতিক প্রতিবন্ধকতা দিবস উপলক্ষে রাজ্যের নারী, শিশু উন্নয়ন ও সমাজ কল্যাণ দপ্তরের উদ্যোগে একটি অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়। বিশেষ প্রতিভা সম্পন্ন প্রতিবন্ধী ব্যক্তিদের পুরস্কার প্রদান করা হয়।
কলকাতা ও বিভিন্ন জেলা থেকে আসা এরকম ৪০ জন প্রতিবন্ধকতা যুক্ত ব্যক্তিদের কুর্নিশ জানাল রাজ্য সরকার। এছাড়াও এঁদের নিয়ে কাজ করছে এরকম কিছু স্বেচ্ছাসেবী সংস্থাকেও পুরস্কৃত করা হয়।
গত দু’বছরের মতো এ বছরও কলেজ স্কোয়্যারে রোজগার মেলার আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। ৪ ও ৫ ডিসেম্বর দুপুর ২টো থেকে রাত ৮টা পর্যন্ত চলবে। মেলায় প্রতিবন্ধকতা যুক্ত ব্যক্তিদের হস্তশিল্পের প্রদর্শনী হবে, বিভিন্ন সংস্থাও অংশগ্রহণ করবে।
এদিনের অনুষ্ঠানে প্রতিবন্ধীদের সফলতার কাহিনী নিয়ে নিয়ে বই ‘স্ফূরণ’ প্রথম সংখ্যা উদ্বোধন করা হয়।
আন্তর্জাতিক প্রতিবন্ধী দিবস উপলক্ষে এদিন রাজারহাটের ইকো পার্কে ঘুরতে আসা মানুষদের পাঁচশোরও বেশি ফুলের গাছ উপহার হিসেবে দেওয়া হয়।
