Bengal Govt eyes tourism in Jhargram with a tribal focus
The Government of West Bengal is taking serious interest in promoting Jhargram as an attractive tourist destination with a focus on its rich tribal art and culture.
On her visit to the district of Paschim Medinipur, the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday inaugurated Tribal interpretation Centre cum Museum at Jhargram.
Earlier in the day, West Bengal had chaired the first meeting of the Tribal Advisory Council at Jhargram.
The one hour meeting discussed various issues regarding the problems faced by the tribal people of the State and their solutions. The MLAs of the State belonging to the tribal communites handed over their demands to the Chief Minister.
The Trinamool Government, in its first term has taken the problems faced by the tribal people as a prime agenda and had worked for their development.
More developmental works will be undertaken for various tribal areas in road infrastructure, drinking water supply, education and power supply.
The tribal people of the State are already receiving food grains at Rs 2/Kg.
ঝাড়গ্রামে আদিবাসী সংগ্রহশালা, পর্যটন বিকাশে নতুন আকর্ষণ
ঝাড়গ্রামকে আকর্ষণীয় পর্যটন কেন্দ্র হিসেবে গড়ে তোলার জন্য আদিবাসীদের শিল্প ও সংস্কৃতিতে জোর দিচ্ছে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকার। জঙ্গলমহলে পর্যটক আকর্ষণের আরও একটি কেন্দ্র তৈরি হল।
পশ্চিম মেদিনীপুর জেলা সফরে গিয়ে মঙ্গলবার ঝাড়গ্রাম আদিবাসী সংগ্রহশালার উদ্বোধন করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। জঙ্গলমহলের আদিম জনজাতি-উপজাতি সম্প্রদায়ের তাঁতশিল্প, হস্তশিল্পের পাশাপাশি নিত্য ব্যবহার্য নানান জিনিস, যা বিলুপ্ত হয়ে যাচ্ছিল সেসব ঠাই পেয়েছে।
পর্যটকরা যাতে যাতে জঙ্গলে এসে লোকগান ও লোকনৃত্য দেখতে পারেন সেজন্য সংগ্রহশালার পাশেই তৈরি একটি মুক্তমঞ্চে লোকসংস্কৃতির অনুষ্ঠানের ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে, যা পর্যটকদের কাছে আরও বেশি আকর্ষণীয় হয়ে উঠবে। প্রশাসনের উদ্যোগে তৈরি এই সংগ্রহশালার মাধ্যমে জঙ্গলমহলে বেড়াতে আসা পর্যটকরা এখানকার ইতিহাস ও সমাজকে সহজেই জানতে ও চিনতে পারবেন।
এদিন বন দপ্তরের প্রাকৃতিক পর্যটন কেন্দ্রের সেমিনারে আদিবাসী উপদেষ্টা পরিষদের সঙ্গেও বৈঠক করেন তিনি। আদিবাসীদের উন্নয়ন নিয়ে এই বৈঠকে বিস্তারিত আলোচনা হয়। সেই সঙ্গে আদিবাসী বিধায়করা তাদের এলাকার দাবিদাওয়া গুলি মুখ্যমন্ত্রীকে লিখিত ভাবে জানিয়েছেন।
প্রথমবার ক্ষমতায় আসার পরই তৃণমূল সরকার আদিবাসীদের জীবনযাত্রার মান উন্নয়নের জন্য বেশ কিছু পদক্ষেপ নিয়েছে এবং তা কার্যকর করেছে। আদিবাসী এলাকাগুলির জন্য রাস্তাঘাট নির্মাণ, পানীয় জল সরবরাহ, শিক্ষা ও বিদ্যুৎ সরবরাহ প্রকল্পের কাজ নেওয়া হয়েছে।
ইতিমধ্যেই রাজ্য সরকারের ‘খাদ্য সাথী’ প্রকল্পের আওতায় আদিবাসীরা ২টাকা কেজি দরে চাল পাচ্ছেন।
