Sudip Bandyopadhyay asks question on Review of performance of Major Ports
Madam, Hon’ble Minister is greatly praised by every corner but I have a specific question. The private owners of the ports are your competitors in different ports. Representatives of the private owners are being inducted into the Port Trust Advisory Boards where local MPs are not because I am the MP of the city, Kolkata and the whole of the port area falls under the jurisdiction of my constituency. But, I find that those ports who have private owners, their representatives are taken inside the policy framing bodies of the Boards.
My question is who is your competitor if he is inducted in the Government Board making decisions where it is taken , whether it is damaging the interest of the Government ports and any attempt to compromise with the private owners.
So my question is very clear. Whether the Government is taking such type of steps by which the interest of Government posts are being damaged and will face a challenge
