Kolkata to become India’s first fully Wi-Fi enabled metro city

Kolkata will become India’s first fully Wi-Fi enabled metro city in the next two or three months. West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee made the landmark announcement at the inauguration ceremony of the 39th Kolkata International Book Fair.
Reliance Jio will be providing Wi-Fi services to people throughout all the 145 municipal wards of the city, starting with Park Street in early February, 2015. The rest of the city will be made Wi-Fi enabled in phases over the next three months.
After making the announcement, the CM tweeted:
