Partha Chatterjee to write to the Governor

Kolkata, 27 Jan: The Trinamool Congress will now ask for central intervention on the fact that the state government is spending crores of rupees to blow its own horn by false propaganda before the Assembly elections. The Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, Mr. Partha Chatterjee today decided to write to the Governor Mr. K R Narayanan about this. On Thursday, Mr. Chatterjee complained that the total debt of the state is over 2 lakh crores of rupees. The state is nearly bankrupt. Still lakhs of rupees are being spent now for their propaganda. All this points out to the fact that it is being done to further damage the debt-ridden economy. So that, when there would be change of power, the new government will face difficulties. He said that he will include all these facts in his letter to the Governor. He commented that for the last 34 years the state government has not done anything but to create an anarchical state and loot government money. While no proper development has taken place, the funds allotted for village projects are used to buy arms and ammunitions. There is even no proper audit of central funds. He also added that, if the state government has worked hard, then why is the need for such propaganda now? If somebody has worked for the people, the people would return them, but in this case, the general people want a change!
