Chief Minister greets on Durga Puja, inaugurates Puja pandals across city
West Bengal Chief Minister Ms. Mamata Banerjee who loves to interact with people and believes in the philosophy of Maa, Mati, Manush takes another initiative to reach out to the masses. The Chief Minister inspite of her hectic schedule is taking out time to visit Puja Pandals across the city.
Ms. Mamata Banerjee on her facebook page greeted all on the occasion of Mahalaya, ` Today is Mahalaya, the beginning of Debipaksha which denotes the end of darkness. The resonance of `jago durga jago dashaprohronodharini` has been beating in our hearts since early morning today. I convey my best wishes to all of you on the auspicious occasion of Mahalaya`.
She inaugurated three Puja pandals on the auspicious occasion of Mahalaya.
The Chief Minister has invitations from over 100 Puja pandals in the city. According to sources requests are still pouring in from various Puja Committees asking Didi to take out some time and inaugurate their Puja pandals.
Hustle and bustle across the Puja pandals can be seen as the decorators and artists find themselves in a huff adding the last minute touches to the idol of Goddess Durga and the pandal.
The Chief Minister who is concerned about the people and their well being has instructed the Members of Legislative Assembly (MLA) to be present in their respective constituencies during the festival. She has also set up a 24-hours control room at Writers` Building and designated officials who will attend duty in shifts.
