West Bengal council of Ministers to be expanded, new faces will join Team Mamata

With an aim towards providing even better and speedy governance to the people of the State, the Trinamool Government is going to induct two new ministers into the State Cabinet on Thursday 26 December, 2013. While Minister of State Swapan Debnath will take the oath at Raj Bhavan as a Minister with Independent charge.

Shashi Panja, MLA from Shyampukur, will be inducted into the Council of Ministers; she will take the oath at Raj Bhavan as a Minister with Independent charge, according to sources.

Hiten Burman, who is currently the Forest Minister in the West Bengal Government, has tendered his resignation to the Chief Minister citing health issues and illness. He will be replaced by the MLA from Mathabhanga (Coochbehar district), Binay Burman.

The new ministers will be administered their oath of office at Raj Bhavan on Thursday.

GJMM leader Bimal Gurung will also take oath as the Chief of Gorkhaland Territorial Administration.
