The sports infrastructure in Bengal during the last six years, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has improved significantly.

The Department of Youth Services and Sports has undertaken a lot of programmes on the education, health, employment and holistic mental and physical development of students and the youth.
Development of playgrounds: Financial assistance given to 331 institutions/ organisations

Setting up of multi-gyms: Financial assistance given to 2,244 institutions / organisations

Construction of mini indoor games facilities: Financial assistance given to 635 institutions/ organisations

Tournaments: Organisation of Annual Youth Festivals and Jangalmahal Cup, and financial assistance to police authorities for conducting the Sunderban Cup and Himal-Tarai Dooars Sports Festival.

Mountaineering and adventure sports: Encouraging the youth to take up mountaineering and adventure sports activities under the aegis of the West Bengal Mountaineering and Adventure Sports Foundation (WBMASF). During the last six years, 18 mountaineers from the state have conquered Mt Everest (compare this to only 4 from 1947 to May 2011). Stringent rules have been framed to select the climbers for Mt Everest and other 8000 metres above peaks. Through the department, rock climbing courses, coastal trekking, mountaineering expeditions, mountaineering courses at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (HMI) in Darjeeling, assistance to mountaineering clubs, etc. are organised. Radhanath Sikdar and Tenzing Norgay Adventure Awards and Chhanda Gayen Bravery Award have been introduced, and are given every year.

Bangla Yuba Kendra: To create a healthy socio-cultural ambience, a three-tier organisation (block-level, district-level and state-level) named Bangla Yuba Kendra has been set up to coordinate the different programmes of this department.

Budgetary allocation: The Plan Expenditure has increased by multiple times in the last six years – from Rs 5.52 crore during 2010-11 to Rs 185.3 crore during 2016-17 in the case of Youth Services and from Rs 29.29 crore during 2010-11 to Rs 237.21 crore during 2016-17 in the case of Sports.

Building of stadiums and sports complexes: Stadiums in Nayagram (Jhargram district), Salboni (Paschim Medinipur district), Memari and Bhatar (Purba Bardhaman district), Onda (Bankura district), Islampur (Uttar Dinajpur) and Uluberia (Howrah district), Archery Academy in Jhargram district, swimming pools in Baruipur and Canning (South 24 Parganas district), sports academy (including stadium) in Khatra (Bankura district), sports complexes (including stadiums) in Barrackpore and Naihati (North 24 Parganas district), and sports complex at Tala Park in Kolkata.

Renovation and modernisation of sports infrastructure: Flood lighting and renovation of the Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting grounds in Kolkata, flood lighting of Kanchenjungha Stadium in Siliguri, renovation of Lebong Stadium in Darjeeling, the indoor stadium at Rajbati Stadium Complex in Cooch Behar, Howrah Municipal Corporation Stadium, Eastern Ground in Chinsura, the swimming pool in Barijhati (both in Hooghly district) and Jhargram Stadium, upgradation and renovations of Bolpur and Suri Stadiums (Birbhum district), Ranaghat, Shantipur, Krishnagar,Kalyani and Nabadwip Stadiums (Nadia district), and Spandan Sports Ground at Kalna Aghorenath Park Stadium (Purba Bardhaman), construction of Balurghat Indoor Sports Complex (Dakshin Dinajpur district), construction and renovation of stadiums in Diamond Harbour Sports Complex and Kultali Dr BR Ambedkar College (South 24 Parganas district), renovation of Aurobindo Stadium (Purba Medinipur district), construction of Rakhal Memorial Sports Complex (Purba Medinipur district) and indoor stadium and sports hostel in Purulia and Kashipore Stadium (Purulia district), and the development of DSA Stadium, Brindabani Park and Satya Chowdhuri Indoor Stadium in Malda.

Management and monitoring of sporting activities: Management and monitoring of sporting activities in the districts to achieve the goals of district and sub-divisional sports councils.

Awards: Khel Samman to 89 present sportspersons, Banglar Gourab awards to 114 retired sportspersons, Kriraguru Sammans to 34 eminent coaches and Lifetime Achievement Awards to eight eminent sports personalities.

FIFA Under-17 World Cup: Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK) has been upgraded and beautified for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup matches to be held there.

 

 

ছ’বছরে ক্রীড়াক্ষেত্রে অভূতপূর্ব উন্নতি বাংলার

 

২০১১ সালে তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস ক্ষমতায় আসার পর থেকেই যুগান্তকারী পরিবর্তন এসেছে বাংলার ক্রীড়ার চিত্রপটে। শুধু খেলোয়াড়দের সম্বর্ধনা দেওয়া নয়, গড়ে উঠছে খেলোয়াড় তৈরি হবার পরিকাঠামো। খুলে গেছে আরও নতুন খেলার দিক।

জেলার খেলাধুলোর পরিচালন ও নজরদারিতে যুব কল্যাণ এবং ক্রীড়া দপ্তর গুরুত্ব দিয়েছে এবং লক্ষ্য অর্জনে জেলা ও মহকুমা স্পোর্টস কাউন্সিলগুলিকে পুনর্গঠন ও কার্যকরী করে তুলেছে।

অতীত এবং বর্তমান কৃতী ক্রীড়া ব্যাক্তিত্বদের কৃতিত্ব অর্জনের স্বীকৃতি জানানো রাজ্যের যুব কল্যাণ এবং এবং ক্রীড়া বিভাগের পরিকল্পনায় রয়েছে। ‘খেল সম্মান’ দ্বারা ৮৯ জন বর্তমান খেলোয়াড়, ‘বাংলার গৌরব’ সম্মানে ১১৪ জন অতীত খেলোয়াড়, ‘ক্রীড়াগুরু’ সম্মানে ৩৪ জন প্রখ্যাত কোচ এবং ‘লাইফটাইম অ্যাচিভমেন্ট অ্যাওয়ার্ডে’ ৮ জন প্রখ্যাত ব্যাক্তিত্বকে এই সময়কালের ভিতর সম্মাননা জ্ঞাপন করা হয়েছে।

রাজ্যের ৮৩৬৩ ক্লাবকে যুব কল্যাণ এবং ক্রীড়া বিভাগ খেলাধুলা এবং স্থায়ী সম্পদের জন্য আর্থিক সহায়তা দান করেছে। রাজ্য পর্যায়ের স্পোর্টস অ্যাসোসিয়েশনগুলিকে প্রত্যেক খেলাধুলোর জন্যও ৫লক্ষ টাকা হারে আর্থিক সহায়তা প্রদান করা হয়েছে।

যুব কল্যাণ এবং ক্রীড়া দপ্তর সুন্দরবন কাপ, হিমাল-তরাই ডুয়ার্স ক্রীড়া উৎসব আয়োজনের জন্যও পুলিশ কর্তৃপক্ষকে আর্থিক সহায়তা দান করেছে.

এই বছরে ফিফা অনূর্ধ্ব-১৭ বিশ্বকাপ আয়োজিত হবে বিবেকানন্দ যুবভারতী ক্রীড়াঙ্গনে। তাই, আন্তর্জাতিক মানের সঙ্গে সমন্বয় রেখে বিবেকানন্দ যুবভারতী ক্রীড়াঙ্গন এবং তার সংশ্লিষ্ট এলাকার উন্নয়ন ও সৌন্দর্যায়ণ হয়েছে। আন্তর্জাতিক প্রতিযোগিতা পর্যায়ের সঙ্গে সঙ্গতি রেখে সম্পূর্ণ শ্রীবৃদ্ধিসাধন, খেলার মাঠ, আলোর ব্যবস্থা, অভ্যাসের জায়গা সহায়ক সুবিধার ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে।

আর্থিক কর্মসম্পাদন যা ২০১০-১১ সালে ছিল ২৯.২৯ কোটি টাকা, তা আজ ২০১৬-১৭ সালে বেড়ে হয়েছে ২৩৭.২১ কোটি টাকা।

The Youth Affairs and Sports Department of the Bengal Government has instituted the Khelashree Scheme to encourage sporting activities. This is yet another developmental initiative by the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress Government.

As per the scheme, schools, colleges and clubs of the state would be given five footballs each. Madhyamik and Higher Secondary schools, High Madrasahs, colleges, universities, all clubs from the first to the fifth divisions of the Kolkata League as well as all clubs and sports institutions which have been getting annual financial aids from the State Government would get these footballs.

The footballs would be distributed during a programme to be organised on October 9 and 10. To drive awareness about this scheme and the programme, On October 7, colourful processions would be taken out in all the districts.

খেলাশ্রী প্রকল্পে ফুটবল বিতরণ করবে রাজ্য সরকার

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর অনুপ্রেরণায় পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সরকারের যুব কল্যাণ ও ক্রীড়া দপ্তরের উদ্যোগে চালু হয়েছে ‘খেলাশ্রী’ প্রকল্প। এই প্রকল্পের অধীনে আরও এক নতুন পদক্ষেপ নেওয়া হয়েছে।

রাজ্যের সব স্কুল ও ক্লাবগুলিকে ৫ টি করে ফুটবল প্রদান করা হবে। যেমন – মাধ্যমিক, উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক স্কুল, হাই মাদ্রাসা, কলেজ, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, কলকাতা লিগের ১ম ডিভিশন থেকে ৫ম ডিভিশন পর্যন্ত সমস্ত ক্লাব এবং ২০১১ সাল থেকে অনুদানপ্রাপ্ত সব ক্লাব ও সংগঠন।

আগামী ৯ ও ১০ অক্টোবর একটি অনুষ্ঠানে এই ফুটবল বিতরণ করা হবে। এই উপলক্ষে ৭ অক্টোবর প্রতিটি জেলায় কেন্দ্রীয় ভাবে বর্ণাঢ্য পদযাত্রা আয়োজিত হবে। ২০১১ সাল থেকে খেলাধুলার উন্নয়ন ও পরিকাঠামো নির্মাণের লক্ষ্যে যুব কল্যাণ ও ক্রীড়া দপ্তর ক্লাব ও সংগঠনগুলিকে অনুদান দেয়।

‘Atithi Bandhu’ or ‘Friend of Guest’ – around 200 students studying Hospitality and Tourism Management courses in Kolkata have been trained to act as such during the days of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Kolkata. Ten matches, including the final would be played in the city.

They would be guides to some of the approximately 3,000 foreign tourists expected to be in the city daily during the duration of the World Cup. This number is expected to become 10,000 per day around the days of the final.

The Bengal Tourism Department is involved in getting these students trained in Spanish, Portuguese and German – languages other than English which are expected to be the mother tongues of most of the foreign tourists – at the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, as well as giving them other necessary training to turn them into effective tourist guides.

Kolkata is one of the favourite cities with foreign tourists and the grand sporting occasion is expected to act as a major boost to the number. Be it Victoria Memorial, India Museum, Kalighat Temple or the other historical and cultural sites of Kolkata, or the places linked to the lives of Mother Teresa, Rabindranath Tagore and Satyajit Ray – the three most-recognised personalities from the City of Joy – these ‘Atithi Bandhus’ or ‘Friends of Guests’ would be the ideal people to interpret the significance of these places and guide tourists through them.

Details regarding the identities of these guides – like names, e-mail addresses, etc. – as well as the cost of hiring them would be available on the website of the State Tourism Department. Tourists can contact the guides directly through the website.

This is not a one-off project though. The State Government, through the Tourism Department, is going to make ‘Atithi Bandhu’ an ever-continuing project, for foreign tourists arrive in Kolkata throughout the year; and Christmas is the next big occasion.

অতিথিকে ফুটবলের শহর চেনাবে বন্ধু

 

ফুটবল-মহোৎসব দেখার পাশাপাশি এবার ফুটবলের শহরটাও ঘুরে দেখবেন বিদেশি অতিথিরা। ‘পুজোর শহর’ বদলে যাচ্ছে ‘যুব বিশ্বকাপ ফুটবলের শহরে’। ফুটবল দেখতে দেখতে কলকাতাকে দেখার ইচ্ছে হলে কোনও চিন্তা নেই। আপনাকে শহর ঘুরিয়ে দেখাবে অতিথি-বন্ধু।

চিলে, ইংল্যান্ড, ইরাকের ফুটবলারেরা ইতিমধ্যেই কলকাতায় হাজির। মেক্সিকোও দু’এক দিনের মধ্যে এসে পড়বে। চার দেশের ফুটবলারদের সঙ্গেই আসছেন কয়েক হাজার সমর্থক। এই বিদেশিদের কাছে টেনে কলকাতার পর্যটনকে জনপ্রিয় করতে এখন মরিয়া রাজ্য সরকার।

রাজ্যের নতুন অস্ত্র— ‘অতিথি-বন্ধু’। এরা আসলে হসপিটালিটি এবং ট্যুরিজম ম্যানেজমেন্টের বাছাই করা শ’দুয়েক পড়ুয়া। যাদের তৈরি করা হয়েছে বিশেষ প্রশিক্ষণ দিয়ে। ‘অতিথি-বন্ধুরা বিদেশি পর্যটকদের নিয়ে যাবেন তাঁদের পছন্দসই সাবেক কলকাতার নানা জায়গায়।

অতিথি-বন্ধুরা সকলেই ইংরেজিতে স্বচ্ছন্দ। গোলপার্ক রামকৃষ্ণ মিশন থেকে স্প্যানিশ, পর্তুগিজ ও জার্মান ভাষায় কথা বলার প্রাথমিক পাঠও তাঁদের দেওয়া হয়েছে। নাম, ই-মেল আইডি-সহ অতিথি-বন্ধুদের যাবতীয় তথ্য দেওয়া থাকছে রাজ্য পর্যটন দফতরের ওয়েবসাইটে। সেখানেই যোগাযোগ করে কথাবার্তা আগাম সেরে রাখতে পারবেন বিদেশিরা। গোটা বন্দোবস্তের অবশ্যই কিছু খরচ রয়েছে। একই ভাবে সাম্মানিক পাবেন অতিথি-বন্ধুরাও।

গ্রুপ পর্বের খেলা চলার সময়ে কলকাতায় দৈনিক গড়ে ৩ হাজার পর্যটক থাকবেন। ফাইনালের সময়ে তা ১০ হাজার ছাড়াবে। এদের থাকার জন্য শহরের পাঁচতারা হোটেলগুলি সহ ধর্মতলার আশপাশের হোটেলগুলিকেও তৈরি রাখা হচ্ছে। বিশ্বকাপ শেষ হলেও অতিথি-বন্ধুদের কাজ ফুরোবে না। কলকাতায় বিদেশিদের আনাগোনা লেগেই থাকে। বড়দিনে তা আরও বাড়বে।

Bengal has started exporting vegetables in larger and large quantities. Over the last one year, the demand for vegetable from Bengal has picked up in many overseas markets. The countries in West Asia have turned into major markets. Plans are on to export to Europe and USA as well.

Now chillies are being planned to be exported to Japan. The Bengal Government is facilitating this export. An official of the organisation conducting the export said that Indian restaurants are popular in Japan. A part of the exports are meant for these restaurants. Another reason for the export is the demand in Japanese cuisine for fresh red chillies (unlike for dry red chillies here).

Also, about 15 per cent of the population of Japan is engaged in agriculture. Hence, a large part of the vegetables and fruits have to be imported.

For all these reasons, chillies from Bengal have a ready market in Japan. According to the State Agriculture Marketing Department, there is potential for exporting 1,000 kg of chillies per day to the East Asian country.

In Bengal, chillies are primarily cultivated in Haldibari, Dhupguri, Kaliaganj, Manikchak, Beldanga, Purbasthali, Memari Egra and Contai.the amount grown far exceed the state’s requirement. So, a good quantity is exported to other states too – Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and others. Now the growers would get a better price from exporting to other countries.

 

বাংলার লঙ্কার গন্তব্য এবার জাপান

এবার বাংলার লঙ্কা পাড়ি দেবে জাপানে! বছর দুয়েক আগে বিশ্ব বঙ্গ শিল্প সম্মেলনে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের লঙ্কা জাপানে নিয়ে যাওয়ার আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করেছিল একটি জাপানি বেসরকারি সংস্থা। কৃষি বিপণন দফতরের সঙ্গে এত দিন আলোচনা চলছিল। শেষ পর্যন্ত নবান্নের সবুজ সঙ্কেত মিলেছে। তার পরেই কলকাতার এক রপ্তানিকারক সংস্থার সঙ্গে বৈঠক করেন জাপানি প্রতিনিধিরা। সব ঠিক থাকলে খুব শিগগিরই জাপানের বাজার মাতাবে বাংলার লঙ্কা।

কৃষি বিপণন দফতরের হিসেবে, রপ্তানির পথ খুলে গেলে প্রতি দিন গড়ে ১০০০ কেজি লঙ্কা পাঠানোর সুযোগ পাবেন স্থানীয় রপ্তানিকারীরা। সংশ্লিষ্ট মহলের দাবি, জাপানে উন্নত মানের এক কেজি লাল লঙ্কার বাজারদর ভারতীয় মুদ্রায় প্রায় ৮০০ টাকা। আর এ রাজ্য থেকে লঙ্কা আমদানি করলে খরচ দাঁড়াবে কেজি প্রতি ২১০ টাকা।

চাহিদার সঙ্গে তাল মিলিয়ে সরবরাহে কোনও ঘাটতি হবে না বলে দাবি রাজ্যের। কৃষি বিপণন দফতরের কর্তারা জানাচ্ছেন, পশ্চিমবঙ্গে যে পরিমাণ লঙ্কা চাষ হয়, তাতে রাজ্যবাসীর চাহিদা মিটিয়েও তামিলনাড়ু, মহারাষ্টের মতো বেশ কয়েকটি রাজ্যে রপ্তানি হয় ফি বছর।

মূলত হলদিবাড়ি, ধূপগুড়ি, কালিয়াগঞ্জ, মানিকচক, বেলডাঙা, পূর্বস্থলী, মেমারি, এগরা ও কাঁথিতে লঙ্কার চাষ হয়। এক সময় সাগরে প্রচুর লঙ্কা হত। কিন্তু ইদানীং সেখানকার চাষিরা অন্য চাষে মন দেওয়ায় লঙ্কার পরিমাণ ও মান দুই-ই পড়েছে। তা সত্ত্বেও দেশের বাজারে বাংলার লঙ্কার জোগান কিছুমাত্র কমেনি। এমনকী, খ্যাতি ছড়িয়েছে সাগরপারেও।

The Bengal Transport Department has decided to start re-issuing licenses for luxury taxis outside the Gatidhara Scheme.

According to Transport Department officials, this would have multiple benefits – providing employment to youths, increasing the number of luxury taxis, and, through the latter, indirectly, ensure that the app-based taxis do not indulge in unnecessary surge pricing, something which causes a lot of problems for commuters.

The applications have to be made online, for which purpose the department’s website is being updated with the necessary inputs.

 

গতিধারা প্রকল্পের বাইরেও ফের লাক্সারি ট্যাক্সির পারমিট দেওয়া শুরু করছে রাজ্য

বেকারদের সার্বিক কর্মসংস্থানের লক্ষ্যে ফের সরাসরি লাক্সারি ট্যাক্সির পারমিট দেওয়ার রাস্তা খুলে দিতে চলেছে পরিবহণ দপ্তর।

দপ্তরের এই সিদ্ধান্তে এক ঢিলে দুই পাখি মারা যাবে বলে মনে করছেন কর্তারা। প্রথমত, গতিধারা প্রকল্পের বাইরেও বহু যুবক যুবতী এই গাড়ি নামিয়ে স্বনির্ভর হতে পারবেন। দ্বিতীয়ত, এতে লাক্সারি ট্যাক্সির যোগান বাড়বে আরও। তাতে পরোক্ষভাবে অ্যাপ নির্ভর লাক্সারি ট্যাক্সির সংস্থাগুলিকে ‘সার্জ প্রাইস’ নিয়ন্ত্রণে চাপ বাড়ানো সম্ভব হবে।

নয়া সিদ্ধান্ত অনুসারে গতিধারা প্রকল্পের বাইরে লাক্সারি ট্যাক্সির পারমিটের জন্য আবেদন করতে হবে দপ্তরের ওয়েবসাইটে। তার জন্য দপ্তরের ওয়েবসাইটে প্রয়োজনীয় পরিকাঠামো তৈরির কাজ ইতিমধ্যেই শুরু করা হয়েছে। অনলাইন হওয়ার ফলে এই প্রক্রিয়ায় স্বচ্ছতা বাড়বে।

They have endured taunts, insults, threats and even physical attacks. Yet they never strayed from their path of working for the welfare of the girl child.

During the last two years, these ‘Kanyashree Yodhas’, or ‘Kanyashree warriors’, as they have been named, of Hariharpara in Murshidabad district have managed to stop 39 child marriages, and most of these children are now back in school.

These bravehearts are among the beneficiaries the of the Bengal Government’s landmark, internationally-feted Kanyashree Scheme, the brainchild of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

To celebrate their achievements, and to encourage more and more girls to emulate these brave Kanyashrees, the local panchayat samity has built a park specially for them. It has been named ‘Kanyashree Yoddha Park’, and is spread over 5,000 square metres.

It was inaugurated recently in the presence of 85 such ‘Kanyashree Yodhas’ and their guardians by the block development officer (BDO) of Hariharpara, who is the driving force behind this initiative.

Here, they would learn and practice karate, play football and do other physical activities. In the park, there is also a room with computers. It is meant to be a meeting room as well as a place for the girls to discuss and exchange news related to their activities and development from across the world through the internet.

 

কন্যাশ্রী যোদ্ধাদের জন্যই পার্ক মুর্শিদাবাদে

কোথাও জুটেছে গালি, কোথাও শারীরিক নিগ্রহ, কখনও পথে-ঘাটে হুমকি, কটূক্তি। ওরা হার মানেনি। দু’বছরে রুখেছে অন্তত ৩৯ জন নাবালিকার বিয়ে। যে মেয়েদের অনেকেই ফিরেএসেছে স্কুলে।
যাদের দৌলতে নাবালিকা বিয়ে রোখায় অন্যতম অগ্রণী মুর্শিদাবাদের হরিহরপাড়া, সেই কন্যাশ্রী যোদ্ধাদের জন্যই গড়া হল পার্ক। সেখানে তারা ক্যারাটে শিখবে, ফুটবল খেলবে, লাগোয়া ঘরে বসে বিনিময় করবে খবরাখবর, মিটিং করবে। কম্পিউটার ঘেঁটে জানবে দেশ-বিদেশের তথ্য, অনলাইন আবেদনও করতে পারবে।

হরিহরপাড়া ব্লক অফিসের সামনে পঞ্চায়েত সমিতির প্রায় পাঁচ হাজার বর্গমিটার জমি ঘিরে গড়ে তোলা সেই ‘কন্যাশ্রী যোদ্ধা পার্ক’-এর উদ্বোধন হল। ঘাসে ছাওয়া পার্ক ঘিরে রকমারি গাছ। পাঁচ জন বসতে পারে এমন ছাউনি দেওয়া আটটি বেঞ্চ চারদিকে ছড়ানো, সঙ্গে দোলনা। সকা‌ল থেকে বিকেল ৫টা পর্যন্ত এই পার্ক থাকবে কন্যাশ্রীদের দখলে।

উদ্বোধনে হাজির ছিল ৮৫ জন কন্যাশ্রী যোদ্ধা আর তাদের অভিভাবকেরা।

The State Tourism Department has decided to turn each of the well-known historical towns of Bengal into a ‘heritage city’.

Cooch Behar, with its royal palace and famous lake (Lal Dighi), and 2, with its cultural heritage linked to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, are first on the list.

The State Government has appointed IIT Kharagpur (for Cooch Behar) and IISER Shibpur (for Nabadwip) to prepare detailed project reports (DPR). The renovations and modernisations of the tourist sites and facilities would be taken up based on the DPRs.

Work is expected to begin this year itself. Among the areas to be looked into are the electricity and sewage systems of the places. Similar steps would be taken up gradually for the other famous places in the state.

পর্যটনে সুদিন আনতে ঐতিহ্যের শহরে রুপটান

মাথায় মহামহিম হিমালয়। পদতল ধুয়ে দিচ্ছে বঙ্গোপসাগর। এহেন প্রাকৃতিক ঐশ্বর্যের পশ্চিমবঙ্গে ছড়িয়ে আছে সাংস্কৃতিক আর ঐতিহাসিক সম্পদ। পর্যটন জোয়ার আনতে এ বার রুপটান পড়তে চলছে সেই সব ঐতিহ্যবাহী অঞ্চলে।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্ধোপাধ্যায় ঠিক করেছেন ,পর্যটক টানতে রাজ্যের বিভিন্ন ঐতিহ্যবাহী শহরে সংরক্ষণ ও সংস্কারের ব্যবস্থা করা হবে। উত্তরে কোচবিহার এবং দক্ষিণে নবদ্বীপকে দিয়ে শুরু হচ্ছে সেই কাজ।

ব্রিটিশ আমলের বাংলার একমাত্র রাজন্যশাসিত রাজ্য কোচবিহারের অন্যতম ঐতিহ্য তার দিঘি ,প্রাসাদ ও বাড়ি।আর গৌড়ীয় সংস্কৃতির পীঠস্থান নবদ্বীপের ঐতিহ্য তার মন্দিরে ,তার চৈতন্যসংস্কৃতিতে। এসবই সংরক্ষণ করে দুই শহরের প্রাচীন রূপ ফিরিয়ে আনার কাজ করবে সরকার।

কি ভাবে তা করা হবে ,তার সবিস্তার রিপোর্ট তৈরির দায়িত্ব পেয়েছে আইআইটি খড়্গপুর এবং আইআইএসটি শিবপুর। প্রাথমিক ভাবে ঠিক হয়েছে ,ঐতিহ্যবাহী শহরের সার্থক রূপ দিতে মাটির তলা দিয়ে শহরের বিদ্যুতের সংযোগ এবং নিকাশির ব্যবস্থা হবে।

এর পর ধাপে ধাপে বিষ্ণুপুর-সহ ঐতিহ্যবাহী সব শহরকেই সংরক্ষণের আওতায় আনার পরিকল্পনা আছে।

A special procession of more than 60 Durga Puja committees who have won the Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman was organised today on Red Road on the way to the bisarjan, or immersion from 5 PM. The Carnival was live telecasted on Mamta Banerjee’s Facebook page.

This bisarjan carnival, initiated by Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee last year, was a unique show that gave an opportunity to all to see the best pratimas at one place.

From the beautiful dance movements to the rhythmic beats of dhaks to the soul-stirring sounds of dhamsas and madals; from frames that captured Kolkata’s built heritage of a bygone era to the memories of the past – the bisarjan carnival on Red Road last year was a riot for the senses.

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wrote on her Facebook page that:

” The unique Carnival after Durga Puja, the biggest festival of the world, was held today at Red Road, Kolkata.

This is being organised by our government for the second time after its phenomenal success last year.

Noted puja organisers with idols of Ma Durga took part in this colourful programme accompanied by beautiful processions depicting the rich cultural heritage of Bengal, the harmony and unity of Bengal, the pioneering state government schemes like Kanyashree, Sabuj Sathi, the forthcoming U-17 World Cup and many, many interesting themes.

Thousands and thousands of visitors along with dignitaries from all walks of life and distinguished guests from the country and abroad witnessed this spectacular event.

Millions of viewers all over the world also saw live streaming of the event on Facebook and online coverage.

রেড রোডে দুর্গা বিসর্জনের বর্ণাঢ্য শোভাযাত্রা

কলকাতার রাজপথে বিশ্ববাংলা শারদ সম্মান পুরস্কার জয়ী প্রায় ৬০টির ও বেশি দুর্গাপ্রতিমা বিসর্জনের এক বিরাট শোভাযাত্রার আয়োজন করা হল।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের অনুপ্রেরণায় এই অভূতপূর্ব শোভাযাত্রার আয়োজন করা হয়েছে গত বছর থেকে যাতে একই জায়গায় মানুষ এবারের সবকটি উত্কৃষ্ট প্রতিমা দেখার সুযোগ পান ও কার্নিভালের আমেজ উপভোগ করেন।

গতবছরের মতো এবছরেও এই শোভাযাত্রায় ছিল বিভিণ্ন নৃত্য, ঢাকের তালের সঙ্গে ছিল ধামসা-মাদল। কলকাতার আভিজাত্যের সঙ্গে ছিল অতীতের স্মৃতি। সব মিলিয়ে এই শোভাযাত্রাটি প্রাণোচ্ছল হয়ে উঠেছিল।

বিসর্জনের এই শোভাযাত্রা নিয়ে মমতা বন্দোপাধ্যায় ফেসবুকে কিছু ছবিও পোস্ট করেন, যা দেখা যাবে এখানে।

Bengal CM took to her Facebook page to thank the crores of people who participated in the festivities of the Durga Puja, the Puja committees for their cooperation and the police and the administration for maintaining discipline and smoothness.

At the end of Durga Puja, the biggest festival in the world, I would like to thank the crores of people who visited the puja mandaps and participated in the festivities and made the festival celebration so joyful.

I would also like to thank the puja committees, clubs and all communities for their total cooperation and overwhelming support.
I thank the police and civil administration for their tireless endeavour to make the puja celebration smooth, peaceful and disciplined.

Some of the noted puja organisers will be participating in the carnival at Red Road on 3 October, being organised by the state government for the second time.

I invite all of you to come and witness the beautiful event.

Elaborate security arrangements were made by Kolkata police as well as the civic authorities for the peaceful conduct of the immersion processions to the various ghats and the ceremonies thereon.

Officers of the Kolkata Police manned the riverfront to prevent onlookers from getting too close to the river. Special vigil was being maintained from a watch tower near the ghat.

Cranes were deployed at certain ghats to lift and extricate the remains of idols from the river to avoid pollution. Additional lights were put up at the immersion ghats and the flowers, levers and metallic weapons were dumped in separate vats to avoid polluting the river.

Other than maintaining law and order during immersion, teams of river police and disaster management groups patrolled the river. Closed-circuit television cameras were installed at certain ghats too.

শান্তিপূর্ণভাবে দুর্গা প্রতিমা বিসর্জনের জন্য সবরকম ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণ করেছে রাজ্য সরকার

 

দুর্গা প্রতিমার বিসর্জন যাতে শান্তিপূর্ণভাবে হয় সেজন্য প্রতিবারের মত এবারও কলকাতা পুলিশ বিশেষ নিরাপত্তা ব্যবস্থার আয়োজন করেছে।

বিশেষ পুলিশ বাহিনী মোতায়েন করা হয়েছে। বিসর্জন দেখার জন্য প্রতিটি ঘাটে সাধারণ মানুষের জন্য একটি নির্দিষ্ট জায়গা তৈরি করা হয়েছে। বিশেষ ওয়াচ টাওয়ারও বসানো হয়েছে এর মাধ্যমে নজর রাখা হবে সমগ্র পদ্ধতির ওপর।

দূষণ প্রতিরোধের জন্য প্রতিটি ঘাটে ক্রেন রাখা হয়েছে। প্রতিমা বিসর্জনের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে মূর্তি ও অন্যান্য জিনিস জল থেকে তুলে নেওয়া হবে ক্রেনের মাধ্যমে। অতিরিক্ত আলো লাগানো হয়েছে। ফুল ও পুজোর অন্যান্য সামগ্রী ফেলার জন্য আলাদা জায়গার ব্যবস্থা করা হয়েছে।

বিসর্জনের সময় আইন-শৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতির ওপর নজর রাখার জন্য বিশেষ পুলিশ বাহিনী চারদিকে টহল দেবে। এছাড়া প্রতিটি ঘাটে ক্লোজ সার্কিট ক্যামেরাও বসানো হয়েছে।

প্রতিমা বিসর্জনের পাশাপাশি পর্যটকদের জন্য রাস্তায় ও ঘাটে পর্যাপ্ত ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হয়েছে।
