Products from the Bengal Government-owned brand Haringhata Meat, which sells raw, processed and cooked meat, meat products, eggs and other poultry items, can soon be ordered from the comfort of one’s home, courtesy a mobile app being developed under the aegis of the Animal Resources Development Department. The app is being developed by West Bengal Electronics Industry Development Corporation Limited (WEBEL), the government agency responsible for technology development in Bengal.

Through the app, initially only raw meat can be ordered. Ready-to-eat stuff would be added to the list of products later on. Products sold under the brand are all sourced from the government farm in Haringhata in Nadia distirct.

শীঘ্রই প্রানিসম্পদ বিকাশ দপ্তরের পক্ষ থেকে একটি মোবাইল অ্যাপ আনা হচ্ছে। এর মাধ্যমে গ্রাহকেরা এবার বাড়ি বসেই হরিণঘাটা মিট ব্র্যান্ডের মাংস ও মাংসজাত সব পণ্য পেয়ে যাবেন। এজন্য কোন অতিরিক্ত টাকাও খরচ করতে হবে না গ্রাহকদের।

রাজ্য সরকারের এই উদ্যোগের ফলে এখন আর হরিণঘাটার চিকেন সসেজ কিংবা টার্কি রোস্ট কিংবা হ্যাম ফিলেট খাতে আর দোকানে ছুটতে হবে না। মোবাইলের মাধ্যমে অর্ডার দিলেই তা হাজির হবে দোরগোড়ায়।

এতদিন একটি ই-কমার্স সংস্থার অ্যাপের মাধ্যমে এই খাবার অর্ডার করা যেত। এখন সংস্থা নিজেদের অ্যাপ আনছে। রাজ্যের তথ্য প্রযুক্তি সংস্থা ওয়েবেল এই অ্যাপ তৈরি করছে।

আপাতত এই অ্যাপের মাধ্যমে হরিণঘাটা ব্র্যান্ডের কাঁচা পণ্যই পাওয়া যাবে। পড়ে অবশ্য ‘রেডি টু ইট’ পণ্যও অনলাইনে বিক্রি করার উদ্যোগ করা হবে। ইতিমধ্যেই কলকাতা শহরে হরিণঘাটা ব্র্যান্ডের চলমান বিপণী খোলা হয়েছে, সেখানে কাঁচা মাংসের পাশাপ্সহি রান্না করা মাংসও পাওয়া যায়।
