We are working for the benefit and development of all – Mamata Banerjee at Barasat

The West Bengal Chief Minister convened a high level administrative meeting with all ministers and district officials in North 24 Parganas today to monitor the development projects and addressed other issues in the district. 
She later addressed a public meeting where she said “ I conduct such meetings and organize these programmes to create awareness among the public so that they come to know about the initiatives the government is taking for them to help them raise their heads high and live life better. The government is working for the people and the people must be aware of the facilities that are being made available to them. “
“Right from constituting disaster management teams to allotting carts to the vegetable vendors, Swarojgar yojana, Gramonnayan yojana, cycle and scholarship distribution, the facilities for fishermen and artisans, we have not left out any sector. We are working for the benefit and development of all“ She added.
The Chief Minister said, “we have increased the subsidy for self-help group from 20% to 30% and we are creating 100 markets all over the state so that the self-help groups can sell their products easily. We have taken the initiative to create 341 kisan bazaars in all the districts. We have announced 2 more fair price medicine shops in this district at Bhatpara and Baranagar. Our fair price projects are a model for the entire country now. We are giving 50-60% concession so that the poor people can avail medicines and sustain treatments. We are also giving stents required for heart operations, at government hospitals for Rs. 40,000 which is otherwise sold for Rs. 1.5 lakh. We are planning to establish 51 fair price diagnostic centers in the state. We are also planning to include insulin in fair price medicine shops at 54% rebate. We are distributing cancer medicines for free in various districts. “
Ms Banerjee said, “ as par my promise, we are implementing the Kanyashree project from October 1st, 10000 girls who are 18 years and above will receive Rs. 25,000 each. 13 -17 years old girls will get Rs 500 scholarship each. 1 lakh unemployed youth will get Rs. 1500, this scheme will be implemented from October 3rd this year. Minority girls received 1 lakh 60 thousand cycles, plus the Jangalmahal and Sundarban region girls have also got 45,000 cycles. “
“ We are creating a Brand Bangla for the MSME sector, where thousands of youth will get employment. Fishermen will receive identity cards. Artisans will be given work for government scheme publicity which will fetch them some income“ She added.
The Chief Minister requested, “Do not indulge in or support partition, violence or any other anti-social activities. Work for good, be at peace and be healthy, that will help the society at large to excel. I would like to congratulate the District Magistrate for the developmental initiatives implemented in North 24 Parganas. For the development of panchayats, `Mission Drive` has been started from September 1st, please be a part of the programme and help develop your region. “
“I would like the police to increase their mobility in the region and control the border regions well.  To politicians, I would like to say that resort to developmental politics only. Bengal has to be taken to the international podium, let us all work together towards achieving this supreme goal“ she concluded.
