WBSEDCL gets SKOCH Award for hydel project in Purulia
After winning the IPPAI Power Awards, given by the Independent Power Producers Association of India (IPPAI), on November 24, the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) has won another prestigious award – the SKOCH Silver Award, in the ‘Energy’ category.
WBSEDCL won the award for its Purulia Pumped Storage Project (PPSP), a 900 megawatt (MW) hydel-power project – the same project for which it won the IPPAI Power Award.
The State electricity distribution company has also been conferred the SKOCH Order of Merit for qualifying among the top 20 energy projects in the country.
The Silver Award is based on achievements like spot master card preparation through an Android-based mobile app, mobile internet-based cash collection system and in-house development of accident module for reporting, inspection and compensation in SAP-ERP.
These awards are yet another recognition of the Bangla power sector, of the pioneering projects undertaken by WSEDCL to provide 24×7 quality and uninterrupted power supply to over 1.85 crore consumers.
