WB CM to inaugurate Kolkata Book Fair on Jan 27
Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banerjee will be inaugurating the 39th Kolkata International Book Fair on January 27, 2015. The book fair will be held from 28 January to 8 February 2015 and the focal theme will be Great Britain.
A bus terminus will be set up near Milan Mela ground for the convenience of people heading to Kolkata Book Fair. This was decided at a meeting held by WB CM and Publishers and Booksellers Guild at Nabanna.
The bus terminus will be located opposite PC Chandra Gardens and buses will ply to five routes from here.
Till now, the area around PC Chandra Gardens had been used as a parking lot wherein space was allotted for accommodating around 150 cars.
There is sufficient space to set up the bus terminus, said a member of the Publishers and Booksellers Guild adding that it had been a long-standing demand of the Guild.
Apart from buses plying to five routes from this terminus, the state corporations will ply an additional fleet of buses for the fair like previous years.
