UNICEF praises Bangla’s social welfare schemes
The India head of the United Nations children’s welfare organisation, UNICEF recently praised highly the social welfare schemes run by the Bengal Government.
The Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress Government has been a leading light in the creation and implementation of social schemes.
The country head said that the organisation was very happy with the progress of Kanyashree Scheme, institutional delivery and prevention of child marriage, among other things.
She also gave a few suggestions to concerned officials, whose roles she praised too.
