Trinamool chief visits Nanoor

Addressing a rally at Nanoor’s Basapara on Sunday, Trinamool chief Ms. Mamata Banerjee defined her idiom of politics without mincing words: “We are not ‘dumurer phool’. Throughout the year I am always with people. I do not come to you just during elections. I don’t do politics seated on a ‘sonar palanka’. We hold meetings throughout the year for the sake of people,” she said. The Trinamool supremo came to Nanoor’s Basapara, walking all the way from Natunhat – five km away. Thousands of supporters from violence-hit Mangalkote in Burdwan marched up to Basapara with her. At Nanoor, a place which has seen enough political violence, she said CPM will not be able to stop Trinamool by violence. She also reiterated and re-emphasised her demand for withdrawal of joint forces from Jangalmahal. Speaking on the administrative system, especially the police force she said, all policemen are not bad. In fact, they are still the pride of Bengal. However the good elements are never allowed to function properly, courtesy the goons of CPM. “Whenever I start moving around the state, they plan some sabotage. That will not be for long,” she said. She also hinted that she will not accept the CID report on Sainthia train accident. “They have prepared a report. Viscera report. What viscera report are they talking about? I know everything. I have enough information and will disclose those in time. They are mistaken if they feel I will accept any report prepared by them,” she said. Ms. Banerjee asked the Trinamool supporters to hold patience. “Wait for three months. Keep patience. On December 11, the state administration will go under the control of the Election Commission. Just two months and 20 days more for that to happen. When we come to power we will review all the political murders. Plots handed over during the Left Front’s tenure would also be reconsidered,” she said.
