State Govt to help popularise e-buses
The Bangla Government, as per a new scheme, has decided to give special facilities to e-bus-owners so that they don’t run into losses. This move is aimed at making electric buses (e-bus), which are environment-friendly, more popular.
The State Government would pay a certain amount, calculated per kilometre, to the bus-owners, provided the latter adhere to certain conditions.
Among the conditions are each bus running a minimum of 5,000km per month and 60,000km per year, the buses being neat and clean, the owners having sheds for parking the buses, etc.
The contract with the State Government would run for a period of 10 years, during which period the buses have to charge fares as decided by the government.
