Series of development initiatives for Indo-Bhutan border town Jaigaon
Bengal government will set up a state-of-the art bus terminal at Jaigaon situated in the Indo-Bhutan border at an estimated cost of Rs 7 crore, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced on Wednesday.
She will inaugurate a gate in Jaigaon on Thursday and the area would be developed into a commercial hub. The Urban Development department has chalked out a comprehensive scheme for the development of Jaigaon which is a thickly populated area.
The state government is now engaged in the improvement of infrastructure building of Jaigaon. The Public Health Engineering department has chalked out a scheme worth Rs 91 crore to provide drinking water to the area. This will solve the drinking water crisis in the area.
The state government has also proposed to set up an economic area development zone in Jaigaon along the international road connecting India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. This will increase the economic activities of the area.
ভারত-ভুটান সীমান্ত শহর জয়গাঁর উন্নয়নে নানা উদ্যোগ রাজ্যের
ভারত-ভুটান সীমান্ত এলাকায় অবস্থিত জয়গাঁতে বাস টার্মিনাস তৈরী করা হবে। এজন্য ৭ কোটি টাকা বরাদ্দ করা হয়েছে। গতকাল একথা ঘোষণা করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।
বৃহস্পতিবার জয়গাঁতে একটি প্রবেশদ্বারের উদ্বোধন করবেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। এই এলাকাটি বাণিজ্যিক কেন্দ্র হিসেবে উন্নীত হবে। পুর ও নগরোন্নয়ন দপ্তর জয়গাঁর উন্নয়নের জন্য বিভিন্ন প্রকল্প গ্রহণ করেছে।
জয়গাঁর পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়নের জন্য বদ্ধপরিকর রাজ্য সরকার। জনস্বাস্থ্য কারিগরি দপ্তর ৯১ কোটি টাকার একটি জল সরবরাহ প্রকল্প বাস্তবায়ন করেছে। এর ফলে এই এলাকায় পানীয় জলের সংকট সমস্যারও সমাধান হবে।
যেহেতু জয়গাঁ ভারত, বাংলাদেশ, নেপাল ও ভুটানের সংযোগস্থল তাই এই এলাকার অর্থনৈতিক উন্নয়নে জোর দিচ্ছে রাজ্য সরকার।
