Saket Gokhale’s supplementary question on the reason for the government’s stepmotherly treatment of Bengal when it came to providing funds

Sir, my question is about the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment, as they say, the SASCI Scheme. So, under this Scheme, the Union Government has given Rs. 172 crores to Andhra Pradesh, Rs. 147 crores to Bihar, Rs. 151 crores to Gujarat, Rs. 200 crores to Madhya Pradesh and Rs. 154 crores to Uttar Pradesh. This is according to an answer tabled by the hon. Minister in the Lok Sabha. Sir, not a single rupee has been given to the State of West Bengal and the Union Government has not … Let me come to my question. The Union Government has not covered a single tourism site in Bengal under this. My overall question to the Minister is, please state why the Union Government is constantly ignoring Bengal and giving a step-motherly treatment when it comes to giving Union Government’s funds, not just funds we deserve but also our dues from the Central Government.
