Rajarhat will become a global destination: WB CM
Novotel Kolkata will serve as a destinationfor guests attending the Biswa BangaSammelan scheduled in January 2015, said Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee onMonday. She also said that Rajarhat will become a global destination.
An entire day has been reserved forbusiness-oriented discussions during the Sammelan,which will be held on 7-9 January. The state government plans to host the Biswa Banga Sammelan in a grand manner thisyear.
Invitations have already been extended tomany industrial heads of the country as well as a few from abroad to attend thebusiness meet. Sources at Nabanna said several guests are expected to reachKolkata for the two-day programme.
While inaugurating the European hotelmajor, Accor Group's Novotel Hotels in New Town, Ms Banerjee said it was aprivilege to have one of the biggest hotels in the city.
“The hotel is open from today and itwill help in accommodating the guests who reach the city to attend the BiswaBanga Sammelan,” she said. Thehotel has accommodation facilities with 347 guest rooms and suites including 48serviced apartments.
Appreciating the break-neck speed in whichthe occupancy certificate was received, Mr Apurva Salarpuria, executivedirector Salarpuria Sattva Group, said that best days for industrialisation inthe state were ahead.
