Puja edition of Jago Bangla released by WB CM

The Puja edition of Jago Bangla, the official mouthpiece of Trinamool Congress, was published ceremonially by party Chairperson Ms. Mamata Banerjee at Nazrul Mancha on the day of Mahalaya. She also ceremonially unveil her latest book Kutsapokkho.

A memorable cultural programme

The colourful programme saw the presence of legendary singers Geetashree Sandhya Mukharjee and Dwijen Mukherjee, who were a part of the Mahishashur Mardini aired on All India Radio on the dawn of the Mahalaya. Both the legands sang a bit of their parts from the original Mahishashur Mardini today, enthralling the audience present.

Performances by Indranil Sen, Nachiketa and the Mahul poetry band along with a dance performance by Ananya Banerjee added flavors to the programme.

The programme concluded with the singing of `Dhano Dhanyo Puspa Bhora` by the guests like MPs Arpita Ghosh, Jogen Chowdhury, poet Subodh Sarkar and others along with the party Chairperson being present on the stage.

The Jago Bangla Puja edition has the it’s cover illustrated by the Chairperson herself, which shows the `Avahan of Devi Durga along with her son Ganesh`, the elephant God`. Besides her articles, the issue carries an essay – Rituraj, to pay homage to the late film director Rituporno Ghosh.
The issue contains articles by the party Secretary General Dr Partha Chatterjee, party State President Mr Subrata Bakshi, senior leaders like Subrata Mukherjee, Firhad Hakim, Derek O’Brien, Abhishek Banerjee, Purnendu Bose, Dola Sen, Bratya Bosu, Aroop Biswas and the likes of Indranil Sen, Moonmoon Sen, Subodh Sarkar, Avirup Sarkar and many other celebrated writers.
