Parliament Winter Session | Week 3 – Trinamool champions privacy and gender justice

The Parliament met for two days in the third week of the Winter Session, owing to the holidays due to Christmas festivities. Playing a responsible Opposition, Trinamool raised matters concerning the people and their rights in both the Houses.

Speaking on the Triple Talaq Bill, Sudip Bandyopadhyay said that there was no debate on the legality of triple talaq, after the Supreme Court judgment. However, the party was opposed to the jail term for the husband. He suggested that the Bill be sent to a Joint Parliamentary Select Committee. Click here for details.

Trinamool gave a notice under Rule 267 to take up discussion today on ‘Home Ministry notification which seeks to invade the privacy of all computers’. However due to disruptions, the House could not run.
