Mamata on new Metro Railway project:
Speaking at a ceremony today, on the new Metro Railway project, at Joka, the Trinamool chief Ms. Mamata Banerjee announced the details of the new Metro Rail route from Joka to B.B.D Bag via Majherhat. “From Joka to Majherhat, the train will move above ground, while the rest of the route from Majherhat to BBD Bag will be under ground. There will be 13 stations. The stations will be named after luminaries and legends. The project involves 2619 crore rupees. The project is expected to finish within the stipulated time period,” she said. The President, the Governor, and other dignitaries were also present at the foundation-stone laying ceremony along with the Honourable Minister of Railways Ms. Mamata Banerjee, here at Joka.
