Mamata Banerjee to make her first visit to New Delhi as CM

Kolkata, June16: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is to visit the capital in a few days, to meet the Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee. This is the first time Ms. Banerjee is going to Delhi after she became Chief Minister. The meeting is to find ways on how to bring the state out of the current financial crisis and also to discuss about the proposed bailout package for the state.

Incidentally Bengal Finance Minister Amit Mitra had met the Union Finance Minister last Monday to discuss the proposed bailout package.

She is also likely to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi during her stay. She is also to sit for a meeting with the Deputy Chairperson of the Planning Commission Montek Singh Aluwalia to finalize the State`s plan size.
