Empowerment of youths through cooperatives
At the inaugural session of the 12th State Cooperation Congress on August 6, the Cooperaton Minister said that the 43,000 cooperatives in the State will be taking more initiatives to empower the rural youth of Bangla.
He said that 1 lakh families have been given Rs 18,000 each for rearing ducks and hens. Similar types of monetary help would be extended to others across the State.
Along with 28,000 general cooperatives, there are 10,000 fishery cooperatives and 5,000 milk cooperatives. The minister also said that all the cooperatives are being gradually digitalised to improve operations.
