Durga Puja – WBKVIB introduces latest khadi designs

With the aim of increasing sales during this festive season, the West Bengal Khadi and Village Industries Board (WBKVIB) has decided to introduce the latest designs and cuts to make khadi dresses more popular.
Durga Puja is the biggest shopping festival, so to say, in Bangla and the WBKVIB is making big plans to capture a bigger share of the market.
According to the project executive officer (PEO) of WBKVIB, the latest designs of fashionable dresses will be introduced for dresses for both men and women made with cotton khadi, silk khadi and muslin khadi. Sarees made of tassar and matka silk, and of fine-quality muslin, will also be introduced.
The PEO also said that the production target for this financial year (FY) is of 5.3 million square metres of khadi cloth and the business target is Rs 95 crore. There has been a 15 per cent increase in total production target and a 25 per cent increase in business in FY 2017-18 as compared to FY 2016-17.
