Despite the debt, there has been no brake on development: Mamata Banerjee
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee congratulated the people and the organisers for a successful Durga Pujo Carnival. She also conveyed her Bijoya greetings to the people of Bangla.
Highlights of her address to the media at Soujanya:
The Durga Pujo Carnival has been held with much fanfare. Benefits of schemes like Kanyashree, Sabooj Sathi and Utkarsh Bangla have been presented. The e-vehicle project of Kolkata has been awarded in Denmark.
The good things should be appreciated. Our sole aim is to take Bangla forward.
Durga Pujo has been celebrated with much success. There were no untoward incidents. The police administration has done its work well.
Congratulations to Abhijit Banerjee for winning the Nobel Prize. It is a matter of pride for Bangla. I have spoken to Sourav also. He is Bangla’s own.

Capital investment: In 2018-19, it became Rs 23,727, an almost 11 times increase over 2010-11
Tax collection: From Rs 21,000 crore in 2010-11, it rose to by more than three times to Rs 65,341 crore in 2018-19.
GSDP: From Rs 4.74 lakh crore in 2010-11, it rose by about tw-and-a-half times to Rs 11.55 lakh crore in 2018-19
Plan Budget: From Rs 11,837 crore in 2010-11, it rose by around six times to Rs 71,113 crore in 2018-19
Agricultural production has risen by nine times.
