Crafts by inmates of correctional homes at State Govt-organised winter carnival
Crafts and other products made by inmates of correctional homes will be showcased at a winter carnival to be organised by the State Government on December 22 and 23. It will be held outside the Presidency Correctional Home.
Handmade products made by inmates from more than 50 correctional homes across Bangla will be available, said the State Correctional Administration Minister, while announcing the carnival. He said that, through this, the common people will also get to see how the inmates are actually correcting their lives with the support of the government.
Apart from beautifully stitched garments and crafts, the inmates will sell bakery products during the two-day carnival. The inmates of women’s correctional homes make bakery products inside the jail; for the first time they will be able to sell them as well. Cultural programmes will also be held during the two-day event.
