CM meets GJM leaders, polls in Hills expected in July

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met a delegation of Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM) led by its president on Saturday and held talks for more than half an hour over several issues like holding elections of the newly formed Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA) .
After the meeting the GJM President told reporters that "I am happy with today's meeting with the chief minister. Elections to the GTA will take place in July this year."
GJM President said, “There is no question of launching a fresh agitation in the hills as the state government has agreed to the demands. We want the high-power committee to submit its report fast.”
The GJM President and his men had responded positively to CM's appeal and held a meeting with her at the state administrative headquarters in Writers' Buildings on Saturday.
