CM forms Special Committee to monitor natural disaster
Kolkata, June 17: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stressed on improving the state`s infrastructure to fight against natural disasters with monsoons knocking at the doors. With an aim to improve the state`s infrastructure Chief Minister also initiated steps to set up a Special Committee in the state comprising of members from various departments including Disaster Management, Fire, Fisheries, Irrigation, Civil Defense and Coast Guard. This Committee will meet every day at eleven in the morning and discuss steps to fight natural disasters in the state. The Committee will coordinate with various departments of the state to improve the state`s infrastructure.
