CM attends State Planning Board meeting

West Bengal Chief Minister Ms Mamata Banjeree convened a meeting with the State Planning Board on 16th September 2013 at Writers` Building. Although the department held regular meetings, it was after 41 long years that a Chief Minister was also present.
Ms Banerjee not only preceded the meeting but also took an active participation. She asked intellectuals, former IASs and ministers to present proposals for the short-mid-term and long-term planning for the development of the state. Suggestions and opinions were also exchanged.
The Chief Minister`s presence in the meeting not only boosted the enthusiasm of the members but also elevated the level of the meeting.
Former IAS officer and MP Mr Nitish Sengupta, physicist Mr Bikash Sinha, planning and development minister Mr Rachpal Singh, state power minister Mr Manish Gupta, and PWD minister Dr Sudarshan Ghosh Dastidar were present in the meeting.
