Bengal Govt to extend infrastructural and marketing help to potters

The State Government has come forward to help potters. West Bengal Khadi and Village Industries Board (WBKVIB), which works under the aegis of the State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Textiles Department, will be implementing certain programmes.
WBKVIB is building modern infrastructure to help potters, on plots handed over to it by the potters themselves. For a start, 260 potters would be getting the help.
A museum would also be built to preserve pots of various sizes and types (hnari, kolshi)
The government will also make arrangements so that the potters can sell their wares at better prices. A lot of attention is being given on packaging.
The government would be extending financial aid to help the potters market their goods. Fifty per cent of the funds would be given to them to start with. The rest would be given after judging quality of the goods and their sales.
