Bengal Govt stresses on agri-research to ensure better yield
The West Bengal Government is giving stress on agricultural research to find new techniques that will ensure a good yield of crops even in case of natural disasters.
A two-day conference attended by the representatives of all the seven agriculture research stations of the State ended on Tuesday.
The major thrust area of the conference was the development of techniques and new types of seeds using which cultivation would be possible even if there was excess rainfall up to a certain limit or even if there was comparatively lesser rainfall during the monsoon season.
The researchers also discussed how to develop newer methods of cultivation so that the farmers can make more profit.
It had always been the target of the present Government to help farmers get some more money after toiling a lot to ensure an increase in cultivation.
Besides discussing on the development of new methods of cultivation, the researchers have also pointed out the need for proper soil testing so that the farmers do not suffer losses. Stress has also been given on development of new types of seeds that can be used to increase yields or to grow better quality crops.

কৃষি উত্পাদন বাড়াতে গবেষণায় জোর রাজ্যের
কৃষি উৎপাদন বৃদ্ধি করার জন্য নতুন নতুন পদ্ধতি খুঁজে পাওয়ার লক্ষ্যে রাজ্য সরকার গবেষণার ওপর জোর দিচ্ছে যা এমনকি প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগেও ফসলের ভাল ফলন নিশ্চিত করবে।
দুই দিনব্যাপী এই কৃষি সম্মেলন মঙ্গলবার শেষ হয়েছে, রাজ্যের সাত কৃষি গবেষণা কেন্দ্রের প্রতিনিধিরা এই সম্মেলনে অংশগ্রহন করেছিলেন।
বর্ষায় অতিবৃষ্টি বা তুলনামূলকভাবে কম বৃষ্টিপাত হলেও যাতে উন্নতমানের বীজ ব্যবহার করে নতুন পদ্ধতিতে ফসলের ফলন বৃদ্ধি করা যায় এই ছিল সম্মেলনের মূল আলোচ্য বিষয়।
নতুন পদ্ধতিতে চাষ করে কৃষকরা যাতে অধিক মুনাফা অর্জন করতে পারে সে বিষয়েও গবেষকরা আলোচনা করেছেন।
বরাবরই বর্তমান সরকারের লক্ষ্য ছিল কিভাবে ফসলের উৎপাদন বৃদ্ধি করে কৃষকরা যাতে আরও বেশি টাকা রোজগার করতে পারে তা নিশ্চিত করা।
চাষের নতুন পদ্ধতি নিয়ে আলোচনার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে গবেষকরা সঠিক মাটি পরীক্ষার প্রয়োজনও উল্লেখ করেছেন এই আলোচনায় যাতে কৃষকরা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত না হন।ভালো মানের ফসলের ফলন যাতে বাড়ানো যায় তাই নতুন ধরনের বীজ ব্যবহারের ওপরও জোর দেওয়া হয়েছে।
