Trinamool Congress on Sunday wrested the Behrampore municipality from the Congress after three decades. Seventeen councillors from INC joined Trinamool in the 28-member strong Behrampore municipality. Trinamool’s strength in the municipality now stands at 18.

Trinamool Youth Congress President and MP Abhishek Banerjee announced the joining of the Congress councilors at Trinamool Bhavan. He said that more councillors of the Congress from two other municipalities will soon join Trinamool Congress.

“People are accepting the ideology of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Congress councillors who joined the Trinamool said that they have full confidence in Banerjee for her initiative to develop the state,” he said.

The TMYC President said that Congress will be nowhere in Murshidabad as people believe that the TMC is the real Congress and Mamata Banerjee is the ideal leader. “The Congress has become a Marxist party,” he said. “The Congress’ decision to align with the CPI-M during the last Assembly polls had proved to be a political suicide as the rank and file of the Congress did not accept the alliance. By the end of this year, there would be no sign of political presence of Congress and CPI-M in Bengal, Abhishek said.

“While people have rejected this unholy alliance, those who are joining TMC want to be part of the development process started by Mamata Banerjee,” he said.

 

সকলেই মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের উন্নয়নের যজ্ঞে সামিল হতে চান: অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়

দীর্ঘ তিন দশক পর গত রবিবার কংগ্রেসের হাত থেকে বহরমপুর পুরসভার দখল নিল তৃণমূল। তৃণমূল যুব কংগ্রেসের সভাপতি ও মাননীয় সাংসদ অভিষেক ব্যানার্জীর উপস্থিতিতে এদিন ১৭ জন কংগ্রেস কাউন্সিলর যোগ দেন তৃণমূলে। ২৮ সদস্যের এই পুরসভায় এই মুহূর্তে তৃণমূলের কাউন্সিলর সংখ্যা হল ১৮ জন।

অভিষেক ব্যানার্জি বলেন মুর্শিদাবাদ জেলার আরও দুটি পুরসভার আরো অনেক কংগ্রেস কাউন্সিলর খুব শীঘ্রই তৃণমূলে যোগ দেবেন।

তিনি জানান, মানুষ মমতা ব্যানার্জীর আদর্শে অনুপ্রাণিত। যে সকল কংগ্রেস কাউন্সিলর তৃণমূলে যোগ দিলেন তাদের পূর্ণ আস্থা আছে মমতা ব্যানার্জীর উন্নয়নমূলক কর্মযজ্ঞে।

অভিষেক বলেন, “মুর্শিদাবাদে কংগ্রেসের অস্তিত্ব থাকবে না, কারণ মানুষ বুঝে গেছেন তৃণমূল হল আসল কংগ্রেস ও মমতা ব্যানার্জী হলেন আদর্শ নেত্রী। কংগ্রেস সিপিএমের দোসরে পরিণত হয়েছে। বিধানসভা ভোটে কংগ্রেসের বামপন্থীদের সঙ্গে জোট করার নীতি আত্মঘাতী ছিল যা কংগ্রেসিরা গ্রহণ করেননি। সিপিআইএম ও কংগ্রেসের অস্তিত্ব বাংলা থেকে মুছে যাবে।”

The state government will give away ‘Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman’ to the best Durga Puja organisers across the globe. Along with the best pujas of Kolkata and Bengal, the overseas Puja organisers will also get the Biswa Bangla Sharad Samman-2016.

The categories – idol, pandal, theme, lighting, eco-friendly Puja, year’s invention, Puja atmosphere, artists, Dhakishree, Biswa Bangla Branding and the best of the best – will be the categories from which the best competitors will be chosen for the awards.

The prizes will be distributed in next November. The website will give detailed information to the participants.

The application forms can be downloaded from the website, but anybody can collect it from the third floor of Kolkata Information centre at Nandan. The distribution of the forms will start today. The distribution of forms will conclude on September 28.

 

বিশ্ব বাংলা শারদ সম্মান প্রদান করবে রাজ্য সরকার

প্রতি বছরের ন্যায় এবারেও রাজ্য সরকার প্রদান করবে বিশ্ব বাংলা শারদ সম্মান। কলকাতা ছাড়াও দেশের ও বিদেশের নানা পুজোর সেরাগুলিকে সম্মাননা প্রদান করা হবে এবছর।

এবছরের পুরস্কারের নানা বিভাগ আছে, যেমন – প্রতিমা, মূল ভাবনা, আলোকসজ্জা, পরিবেশবান্ধব পুজো, বছরের সেরা আবিষ্কার, ঢাকিশ্রী, বিশ্ব বাংলা ব্র্যান্ডিং, সেরার সেরা।

বিশ্ব বাংলা শারদ সম্মান প্রদান করা হবে নভেম্বরে। ওয়েবসাইটে পাওয়া যাবে সমস্ত তথ্য।

আবেদন পত্র পাওয়া যাবে ওয়েবসাইট থেকে কিংবা নন্দনে কলকাতা তথ্যকেন্দ্র থেকে। আজ থেকে আবেদন পত্র দেওয়া শুরু হবে, চলবে ২৮শে সেপ্টেম্বর পর্যন্ত।

Sukanya, the dream project of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to provide self defence training to girl students, has reached a new height with five of its participants selected to represent India in Kick Boxing World Cup 2016 to be held in Russia.

Sukanya was initiated in 2014 by the Kolkata Police in collaboration with Women Development and Social Welfare department. On Friday, 2,500 girls, who underwent training on self defence in the third year of the project, received their certificates.

The five students who have been selected to represent India in the Kick Boxing World Cup are from four schools and one college in the city. Priya Das, a first year student of Behala College, Class X student Sahisnuta Sinha of Brahmo Balika Shikshalaya, Anushka Nath of Taki Government Girls’ High School, Dipanita Roy of Surah Kanya Vidyalaya and Alisha Khan of St Thomas’ Girls’ School were felicitated for success in Friday’s programme.

The Sukanya project had started with 646 students in some schools in the city. The number had gone up to 2,248 in the second year and in the third year some students from some colleges have joined the programme besides the school goers which took the number of participants to 2,500.

 

বাংলার ‘সুকন্যা’রা যোগ দেবে কিকবক্সিংয়ের বিশ্ব চ্যাম্পিয়নশিপে

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দোপাধ্যায়ের স্বপ্নের সুকন্যা প্রকল্পের মাথায় নতুন পালক। এই প্রকল্পের আওতায় আত্মরক্ষার প্রশিক্ষণপ্রাপ্ত পাঁচ কন্যা কিকবক্সিং বিশ্বকাপে দেশের প্রতিনিধিত্ব করবে।

বেহালা কলেজের প্রথম বর্ষের ছাত্রী প্রিয়া দাস, ব্রাহ্ম বালিকা শিক্ষালয়ের দশম শ্রেণীর ছাত্রী সহিষ্ণুতা সিনহা, টাকি গভর্নমেন্ট গার্লস হাই স্কুলের অনুষ্কা নাথ, শুঁড়া কন্যা বিদ্যালয়ের দীপান্বিতা রায়, সেন্ট থমাস গার্লস স্কুলের আলিশা খান রাশিয়ায় এই প্রতিযোগিতায় অংশগ্রহণ করবে।

রাজ্যের নারী কল্যাণ দপ্তরের সহযোগিতায় কলকাতা পুলিশের উদ্যোগে ২০১৪ সালে শুরু হয় সুকন্যা প্রকল্পটি। গত শুক্রবার এই প্রকল্পের তৃতীয় ব্যাচের ২৫০০ ছাত্রীকে শংসাপত্র দেওয়া হয়। প্রথম বছরে কলকাতার কয়েকটি স্কুলের ৬৪৬ জন ছাত্রীকে নিয়ে পথ চলা শুরু এই প্রকল্পের। দ্বিতীয় বর্ষে সেই সংখ্যা পৌঁছায় ২২৪৮য়ে আর তৃতীয় বর্ষে কলেজ পড়ুয়ারাও যোগ দেওয়ায় এখন মোট সুকন্যার সংখ্যা ২৫০০।

New Town is a popular destination where, apart from commercial establishments, many residential flats have come up. The area is also gaining popularity as a cultural and tourist hub, where thousands come on weekends and holidays.

In view of this, it is extremely crucial that the area is kept clean and green. To inculcate good habits amongst the residents, it was decided at a recent joint meeting of West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (WBHIDCO) and New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) that the employees of employees of Solid Waste Management (SWM) scheme in New Town would be used to create awareness amongst the people through posters and leaflets.

New Town will be divided into 165 clusters of 500 sq m each, and one officer either from WBHIDCO or NKDA would be responsible for looking after the cleanliness drives in a particular area.

The residents would be requested to use bins and not to throw solid waste on the road. The number of bins would be increased from 150 to 450. The number of sweeping groups will be increased and they would be properly monitored through GPS. There are plans to create a robust market framework for buying municipal waste.

The residents would also be made aware of the penal measures which might be needed to be invoked in order to make the scheme effective.

People would be encouraged to do rooftop organic farming and to compost household waste into fertilizers.

The area under New Town would be divided and given to two agencies to foster healthy competition over keeping their respective areas clean. Special attention will be given to areas where markets, food stalls and hotels are situated.

Among the plans proposed at the meeting are a fine of Rs 100 for littering in the open and a fine of Rs 5,000 per day for delay in removal of construction materials from roads.

 

সবুজে সাজানো হবে নিউ টাউনকে

শহরের সৌন্দর্য ও সবুজায়ন চান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর সেই নির্দেশ মাথায় রেখেই ছোট ছোট শহরে সবুজায়ন করার পরিকল্পনা নিয়েছে পুর ও নগরোন্নয়ন দফতর।

বর্তমানে কলকাতায় বাণিজ্য ক্ষেত্রের একটি জনপ্রিয় গন্তব্য নিউ টাউন, তার পাশাপাশি এখানে বেশ কিছু আবাসনও তৈরি হচ্ছে। এখানে একটি সাংস্কৃতিক ও পর্যটন হাব তৈরি হয়েছে যা অল্প সময়ের মধ্যেই খুব জনপ্রিয়তা অর্জন করেছে। ছুটির দিনে প্রায় হাজার খানেক মানুষের গন্তব্যস্থল এই জায়গাগুলি।

এই পরিপ্রেক্ষিতে, অধিবাসীদের মধ্যে ভাল অভ্যাস তৈরি করার জন্য WBHIDCO এবং NKDA যৌথভাবে পোস্টার ও লিফলেটের মাধ্যমে মানুষের মধ্যে সচেতনতা তৈরি করার পরিকল্পনা নিয়েছে।

৫০০ বর্গ মিটার জায়গার মধ্যে ১৬৫ টি ক্লাস্টারে ভাগ করা হবে নিউ টাউনকে। WBHIDCO বা NKDA থেকে একজন করে কর্মকর্তা ওই এলাকাগুলির পরিচ্ছন্নতার দায়িত্বে থাকবে।

ময়লা রাস্তায় না ফেলে ডাস্টবিনে ফেলার জন্য অনুরোধ করা হবে এলাকাবাসীদের। ডাস্টবিনের সংখ্যা ১৫০ থেকে বাড়িয়ে ৪৫০ করা হবে। ঝাড়ুদারদের সংখ্যাও বাড়াতে হবে এবং GPS এর মাধ্যমে তাদের ওপর নজর রাখা হবে। পৌরসভা এই সব বর্জ্য কিনবে সেজন্য একটি কাঠামো তৈরি করার পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে।

বাসিন্দাদের এব্যাপারে সচেতন করা হবে এবং নিয়ম মেনে না চললে শাস্তিমূলক ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হবে।

বাড়ির ছাদে জৈব পদ্ধতিতে চাষ করা এবং বাড়িতেই জৈব সার তৈরি করার জন্য মানুষকে উৎসাহিত করা হবে।

নিউ টাউন অধীনের এলাকাগুলিকে ভাগ করা হবে এবং তাদের নিজ নিজ এলাকার পরিচ্ছন্ন রাখার দায়িত্ব দুটি সংস্থার ওপর দেওয়া হবে। যেসব জায়গায় বাজার, খাবারের দোকান, হোটেল রয়েছে সেগুলির ওপর বিশেষ মনোযোগ দেওয়া হবে।

Durga Puja has long been an attraction for tourists visiting Bengal. But the idol immersions, on the contrary, are never seen in such a way.

This year, the Bengal government have come up with an idea to showcase the immersion ceremonies of Durga idol across the state, to the rest of the world.

The government is planning to not only brandish the different Pujas but also highlighting the immersion process too.

According to government plans, the idol immersing procession will proceed through Red Road on October 14 from 6 pm till midnight. Adequate measures will be taken for the tourists to witness the immersion alongside the roads and ghats.

Some cultural shows are also being planned at the venue. The state tourism department will also display various pictures to capture the moments of the Puja and immersion in temporary gallery on both sides of the roads.

 

এ বছর দুর্গাপূজা প্রতিমা বিসর্জন পর্যটকদের বিশেষ আকর্ষণ

বাংলার দুর্গাপূজা পর্যটকদের জন্য এক বিশেষ আকর্ষণ। পক্ষান্তরে, প্রতিমা বিসর্জনের অনুষ্ঠান এমনভাবে আগে কখনো হয়নি।

এই বছর সরকার সারা রাজ্য জুড়ে দুর্গা প্রতিমা বিসর্জনের অনুষ্ঠান করার নতুন পরিকল্পনা নিয়েছে।

শুধুমাত্র পুজো নয়, প্রতিমা বিসর্জনক প্রক্রিয়াকেও যথেষ্ট লক্ষণীয় করতে চায় রাজ্য সরকার।

সরকারি পরিকল্পনা অনুযায়ী, প্রতিমা বিসর্জনের শোভাযাত্রা হবে ১৪ অক্টোবর সন্ধ্যে ৬টা থেকে মধ্যরাত পর্যন্ত। প্রতিমা বিসর্জনের পাশাপাশি পর্যটকদের জন্য রাস্তায় ও ঘাটে পর্যাপ্ত ব্যবস্থা নেওয়া হয়েছে।

বেশ কিছু সাংস্কৃতিক শো ও প্রদর্শিত হবে। রাজ্য পর্যটন বিভাগ পুজোর বিভিন্ন মুহূর্তের ছবি রাস্তার দুপাশে গ্যালারির মাধ্যমে প্রদর্শিত হবে।

In order to make fresh and non-toxic food items available to residents, the West Bengal Agricultural Marketing department is going to set up an organic market. The market will be established in one of the most popular places near Kolkata, the Eco Park in New Town.

An 18 cottah plot beside the township’s major arterial road was allotted by Hidco to the State Agricultural Marketing department for setting up an organic market in New Town. The market will be large since the size of the land allotted is huge.

The market will be set up at Eco Park in New Town, near the park’s gate number 4. Various products such as vegetables, rice, dal, tea, spices and other edible products, all organically grown, will be sold at this market. The state government’s idea is to reach out to people with these healthy food items. Only government approved quality organic food, grown by farmers across the State, will be sold at this particular market, therefore they will be healthy. Organic manure and organic pesticides are only used to make these products and no chemical pesticides are used.

The idea has been floated and approved as a pilot project. The project is expected to be completed in more than one year.

 

 

নিউ টাউনের ইকো পার্কে অর্গানিক মার্কেট তৈরি করছে রাজ্য সরকার  

রাজ্যবাসী যাতে টাটকা ও বিষমুক্ত খাবার পেতে পারেন তাই কৃষি বিপণন বিভাগ একটি অর্গানিক মার্কেট চালু করছে। এই বাজারটি তৈরি হবে কলকাতার কাছে জনপ্রিয় জায়গা নিউ টাউনের ইকো পার্কে।

নিউ টাউনে এর জন্য বরাদ্দ জমির পরিমান ১৮ কাঠা। ভবিষ্যতে আরও বেশি জমি পাওয়া গেলে বাজারের আয়তনও বৃদ্ধি করা হবে।

ইকো পার্কের ৪ নম্বর গেটের কাছে এই মার্কেটটি তৈরি হবে। বিভিন্ন রকমের পণ্যদ্রব্য – যেমন শাক-সবজি, ডাল, চা, মশলাপাতি – সহ আরও অনেক জৈব পদ্ধতিতে তৈরি পণ্যদ্রব্য বিক্রি হবে এই বাজারে।

রাজ্যবাসীর কাছে স্বাস্থ্যসম্মত খাবার পৌঁছে দেওয়াই রাজ্য সরকারের উদ্দেশ্য। জৈব পদ্ধতিতে রাজ্যের চাষীদের তৈরি খাদ্যশস্য যা সরকার দ্বারা অনুমোদিত দ্রব্যই বিক্রি হবে এই বাজারে।

একমাত্র জৈব সার ও জৈব কীটনাশকই ব্যবহার করা হবে এই খাদ্যশস্য উৎপন্ন করতে, কোনরকম রাসায়নিক সার ব্যবহার করা যাবে না।

এটি একটি পাইলট প্রকল্প। আগামী এক বছরের মধ্যে এই প্রকল্পের কাজ সম্পূর্ণ হয়ে যাবে।

In the course of a press conference at Nabanna today, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee came down strongly on the incidents reported from several places last night of vigilante groups going around looking for cows tied up to be slaughtered for Bakr Eid, and releasing them.

She said, this is an attempt to create disharmony among the people on the basis of religion, and warned everyone against playing such dirty games.

The Chief Minister said that all festivals are celebrated in Bengal with equal fervour and that, India being a secular country, no one will be allowed to spread violence in the name of religion. She requested everyone to refrain from getting provoked by untoward elements bent on spreading hatred.

Mamata Banerjee has always stood for the equality of all religions. As she said, “Everyone has the right to follow any religion”, and also eat according to one’s wishes.

 

ধর্মের নামে হিংসা বরদাস্ত করব নাঃ মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

আজ নবান্নে সাংবাদিকদের মুখোমুখি হন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। বখরি ঈদে সকলকে অভিনন্দন ও শুভেচ্ছা জানিয়ে তিনি বলেন সামনেই বখরি ঈদ আর তার আগেই কিছু মানুষ গরু নিয়ে রাজনীতি করছে।

তিনি বলেন, “মানুষ কি খাবে কি পরবে সেটা তার গণতান্ত্রিক অধিকার, তাতে কেউ হস্তক্ষেপ করতে পারে না। প্রত্যেকের অধিকার আছে তাদের নিজ নিজ ধর্ম পালন করার”।

তিনি আরও বলেন, “ভারতবর্ষের ধর্ম সনাতন ধর্ম। সবাইকে ভালবেসে সবাইকে আপন করে নেওয়ার নাম মানবিকতা। আদর্শ নিয়ে রাজনীতি হওয়া উচিত। কিছু কিছু রাজনৈতিক দলের কোন দায়বদ্ধতা নেই, তারা দেশকেও ভালোবাসে না, মানুষকেও ভালোবাসেনা। তারা শুধু হিংসার রাজনীতি করে”।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “ভারতবর্ষ ধর্মনিরপেক্ষ দেশ। আমরা ধর্মনিরপেক্ষতায় বিশ্বাস করি,এখানে সকলের সমান অধিকার। এখানে ধর্মের নামে হিংসা আমরা বরদাস্ত করব না”।

There’s good news for the residents of New Town and the domestic and foreign flyers who want to buy branded sweets for their near and dear ones.

The West Bengal Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation (WBHIDCO) has planned to open a hub to sell mouth watering traditional Bengali sweets in the area.

The proposed cluster of shops set up as per the “shop in shop” concept will come up near the gate number I of Prakriti Tirtha also known as Eco Park. The hub has not yet been named and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be approached to give it a suitable name.

On the first floor, there will be an open terrace where people can sit and taste Bengali sweets and snacks and enjoy the beautiful environment surrounding Prakriti Tirtha. Best quality traditional Bengali sweets will be available in the shops along with their history.

As sweet is an integral part of Bengal’s culture which Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wants to project globally through Biswa Bangla, the centre is likely to gain popularity soon after it is inaugurated.

নিউটাউনের বাসিন্দারা যারা ব্র্যান্ডেড মিষ্টি কিনতে চান তাদের জন্য সুখবর। WBHIDCO নিউটাউনে বাংলার মিষ্টি  হাব খোলার পরিকল্পনা করছে।

প্রস্তাবিত ক্লাস্টারটি কেনাকাটার দোকান হিসেবে তৈরি হবে। এটি তৈরি হবে প্রকৃতি তীর্থর (যা ইকো পার্ক নামেও পরিচিত) ১ নম্বর গেটের কাছাকাছি। হাবটির নামকরণ এখনও করা হয়নি। মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এর নামকরণ করবেন।

এই মিষ্টি হাবে একটি খোলা জায়গা থাকবে যেখানে মানুষ বসে বাংলার বিভিন্ন মিষ্টি ও অন্যান্য খাবারের স্বাদ গ্রহণ করতে পারবেন এবং সঙ্গে প্রকৃতি তীর্থর সৌন্দর্য উপভোগ করতে পারবেন। শ্রেষ্ঠ মানের সব রকম ঐতিহ্যবাহী বাংলার মিষ্টি এই দোকানে পাওয়া যাবে সঙ্গে এই সব মিষ্টির ইতিহাসও বর্ণিত থাকবে।

The preparations for celebrating the Singur Diwas on September 14 are going on in full swing.

The state government has been working on the land survey work on a war footing following the order of the Chief Minister, who before undertaking her Europe tour had instructed the senior ministers to visit the place to inspect the progress in work.

During her absence, senior ministers had visited the spot and inspected the progress of land survey. They also reviewed the arrangements for the victory day celebration on September 14 when the Chief Minister is scheduled to take part in rally in Singur.

It may be mentioned here that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will hold a high level meeting with the senior ministers and the officials of the government at Nabanna to take a stock of the progress in the work.

মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর নির্দেশে প্রায় যুদ্ধকালীন তত্পরতায় জমি পর্যবেক্ষণের কাজ চলছে, উনি ইউরোপ যাওয়ার পূর্বেই মন্ত্রিদের নির্দেশ দিয়েছিলেন সিঙ্গুর গিয়ে কাজের গতি সরেজমিনে পরিদর্শন করতে।

গত এক সপ্তাহে বিভিন্ন মন্ত্রীরা সিঙ্গুর দিবস পালনের প্রস্তুতিও তদারকি করে এসেছেন।

আজ মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী নবান্নে মন্ত্রী ও আধিকারিকদের সঙ্গে উচ্চপর্যায়ের একটি বৈঠক করবেন। সেই বৈঠকে সিঙ্গুরে জমি জরিপের কাজের অগ্রগতির খতিয়ান দেবেন আধিকারিকরা।

Just before the Durga Puja, the state government is all set to organise another edition of ‘Banglar Tanter Haat’ – a fair, where the weavers of Bengal will showcase their amazing creations.

The organiser is the state micro, small and medium enterprise and textiles department. The minister of micro, small and medium enterprise, will inaugurate the fair on Sunday.

The fair has been the centre of attraction for women, as various varieties of Saaris and Salwar and other traditional apparels are showcased here. Milan Mela – the state government’s designated fair zone just off to Eastern Metropolitan Bypass – is the venue of Banglar Tanter Haat.

The weavers across the state will participate in the Haat and will sell their product. The urban population is in love with their production. A huge turnout in the fair is expected this year as it is being held just before the festive season.

But not only the woman but the men would also be happy with variety of the clothes in the haat. Various men apparels including Dhuti, Punjabi and wide variety of Fotua will be displayed.

 

পুজোর আগে শুরু হচ্ছে ‘বাংলার তাঁতের হাট’

পুজোর আগে সুখবর। রাজ্য সরকারের উদ্যোগে এ বছর দুর্গা পুজোর আগেই আবারও আয়োজন করা হচ্ছে “বাংলার তাঁতের হাট” মেলার।

বাংলার তাঁত শিল্পীরা যাতে নিজেদের শিল্পশৈলী দেখানোর সুযোগ পায়, তাই এই মেলার উদ্যোগ ক্ষুদ্র ও কুটিরশিল্প দফতর ও বস্ত্রশিল্প দফতর। রবিবার ক্ষুদ্র ও কুটিরশিল্প মন্ত্রী এই মেলার উদ্বোধন করবেন।

মেলাতে থাকবে বিভিন্ন ধরণের শাড়ি, সালোয়ার ও ঐতিহ্যবাহী বস্ত্রসমূহ। ই এম বাইপাসের ধারে অবস্থিত মিলন মেলা প্রাঙ্গনে এই মেলাটি অনুষ্ঠিত হবে।

সারা রাজ্যের সমস্ত তাঁত শিল্পী এই মেলায় অংশ নেবেন ও নিজেদের জিনিসপত্র বিক্রি করতে পারবেন। বিগত কয়েক বছরে দেখা গেছে শহরের মানুষ ওনাদের কাজকে খুব পছন্দ করছেন, তাই, আশা করা যায় পুজোর আগেই এই মেলাকে কেন্দ্র করে ভালো সাড়া পাওয়া যাবে।

শুধু মহিলা নন, পুরুষদের জন্যও মেলাতে থাকবে নানা সমাহার। যেমন ধুতি, পাঞ্জাবি ও প্রচুর ধরণের ফতুয়া মেলায় পাওয়া যাবে।
