Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated and laid the foundations stones for a bouquet of developmental projects for Hooghly district today during an administrative review meeting in Chinsurah at 4 pm.

The projects that were inaugurated by the Chief Minister today included new administrative buildings for the district, water projects, irrigation projects, road projects, bridges, parks, hostels and police stations, among others.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones for numerous projects including hostels, roads, administrative buildings and Karma Tirthas, among others.

She distributed cycles under Sabuj Sathi, Kanyashree, Yubashree and Sikshashree benefits, agricultural machinery and land pattas.

আজ বৃহস্পতিবার হুগলি জেলার চুঁচুড়ায় প্রশাসনিক বৈঠক করলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

চুঁচুড়ায় সার্কিট হাউসের উল্টো দিকে নবনির্মিত প্রশাসনিক ভবনে বৈঠকটি হয়। বিভিন্ন দফতরের মন্ত্রীরা ছাড়াও পুলিশ এবং প্রশাসনের আধিকারিকেরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন বৈঠকে। আগের প্রশাসনিক বৈঠকে যে সব সিদ্ধান্ত হয়েছিল, সেই সব কাজের অগ্রগতি কতদূর হল, তার হিসাব এবং হাল-হকিকত মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর কাছে পেশ করেন প্রশাসনের কর্তারা।

বৈঠকের পরে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী চন্দননগরের উড়ালপুল-সহ কিছু সরকারি প্রকল্পের উদ্বোধন করেন। প্রথামাফিক নানা সরঞ্জাম সহ বিভিন্ন সরকারি পরিষেবা প্রদান করেন তিনি।

The state government has decided to install monorail from Budge Budge to Ruby Connector, said Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The CM said: “We have taken decision to install monorail in the city. It will connect Budge Budge to Ruby via Taratala, New Alipore and Prince Anwar Shah Road. It will come up at a cost of Rs 4,216 crore.”

She further said that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed between Burn Standard Company Limited and the state transport department for execution of the project to install the monorail.

“Burn Standard Company Limited will be funding the project and the state government will provide land,” she said adding that there would not be any problem over land acquisition as minimum land would be required to construct pillars and elevated tracks would be laid connecting them.

 

বজবজ থেকে রুবি চলবে মনোরেল, জমি দেবে রাজ্য, বললেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

বজবজ থেকে রুবি মোড় পর্যন্ত মনোরেল চালু হতে চলেছে। বার্ন স্ট্যান্ডার্ড কোম্পানি ৪২১৬ কোটি টাকা খরচ করে তা তৈরি করবে। এর জন্য তারা একটি প্রস্তাব রাজ্য সরকারকে দিয়েছে। তা বিবেচনা করে মনোরেল তৈরির ব্যাপারে সিদ্ধান্ত নিয়েছেন মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। এর জন্য পরিবহণ দপ্তরের সঙ্গে বার্ন স্ট্যান্ডার্ড কোম্পানির একটি ‘মউ’ স্বাক্ষর হবে। এর জন্য যে জমি লাগবে, তা রাজ্য সরকার ব্যবস্থা করবে বলে জানান মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী জানিয়েছেন, বজবজ থেকে তারাতলা, নিউ আলিপুর, প্রিন্স আনোয়ার শাহ রোড হয়ে রুবি মোড় পর্যন্ত যাবে মনোরেল। রেলের অধীনস্থ বার্ন স্ট্যান্ডার্ড কোম্পানি সেটি তৈরি করবে।

এদিন নবান্নে শিল্প উন্নয়ন এবং প্রোমোশনাল বোর্ডের বৈঠক করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। সেই বৈঠকে শিল্প ও অর্থমন্ত্রী অমিত মিত্র, বিদ্যুৎ মন্ত্রী শোভনদেব চট্টোপাধ্যায়, ক্ষুদ্রকুটির শিল্প দপ্তরের মন্ত্রী স্বপন দেবনাথ, মৎস্যমন্ত্রী চন্দ্রনাথ সিনহা, খাদ্য প্রক্রিয়াকরণ মন্ত্রী রেজ্জাক মোল্লা ছিলেন। এছাড়াও সংশ্লিষ্ট দপ্তরের প্রধানসচিবরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। সেখানে মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় শিল্প প্রস্তাব নিয়ে আলোচনা করেন। যে কোনও শিল্প প্রস্তাবে সব দপ্তরকে সাহায্য করতে নির্দেশ দেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী। আলোচনা হয় মনোরেল নিয়েও।

Bringing under one roof the whole gamut of the creative genius of Bengal – ranging from handloom-handicrafts to literature – a new “Biswa Bangla” store was thrown open to the public today at Park Street, Kolkata.

Traditional sarees, beautiful handloom products and hand-crafted marvels of Bengal, and Darjeeling tea as well as Bangla books, CDs of Bengali music and classic films will be available at the Biswa Bangla store.

It is expected to be the one-stop shop for everything Bengali – an initiative that is aimed at catering to domestic consumers as also building brand Bengal in the international market.

This is the eighth showroom of ‘Biswa Bangla’. Other showrooms are located at Dumdum Airport (domestic and international), Dakshinapan Shopping Complex, Bagdogra Airport, Rajarhat, Darjeeling and New Delhi.

 

 

পার্ক স্ট্রিটে যাত্রা শুরু নতুন বিশ্ব বাংলা শোরুমের

পুজোর আগে পশ্চিমবঙ্গবাসীদের জন্য সুখবর। কলকাতার প্রাণকেন্দ্র পার্কস্ট্রিটে খুলে গেল বিশ্ব বাংলার নতুন শোরুম। এবার  এক ছাদের তলায় পেয়ে যাবেন বাংলার হস্তশিল্প থেকে শুরু করে তাঁত, বই এমনকি আকর্ষণীয় খাদ্যসামগ্রীও।

বাংলার ঐতিহ্যবাহী শাড়ি, সুতির বস্ত্র, হস্তশিল্প থেকে দার্জিলিংয়ের চা, বাংলা বই, গানের সিডি, পুরোনো দিনের সিনেমার ডিভিডি সবই পাওয়া যাবে এখানে।

আশা করা যায় পর্যটকদের অন্যতম গন্তব্য হয়ে উঠবে বিশ্ব বাংলার এই শোরুম। দমদম বিমানবন্দর (আন্তঃদেশীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক), দক্ষিণাপন শপিং কমপ্লেক্স, বাগডোগরা বিমানবন্দর, রাজারহাট, দার্জিলিং এবং দিল্লির পর বিশ্ব বাংলার অষ্টম শোরুম এটি।

In a unique move, the Bengal Government has taken up a host of new initiatives to improve the socio-economic condition of people in Sunderbans. Various skill development programmes have been initiated at various villages in Sunderbans and some parts of North and South 24 Parganas.

Three hospitality management courses are being conducted by the State Government for the past one year to train many educated but unemployed youths in these areas so that they can start their own business. Initiatives are being taken to include the youth in various self help groups operating in the State. Three courses on plumbing and for electricians have already been started each at Kakdwip and Canning in South 24 Parganas and Hasnabad in North 24 Parganas, so that the youth can develop skills, thereby creating employment in the distant areas of Sunderbans.

Various hospitality management courses have already been started at Sunderbans, keeping in mind the boom in the retail sector. In small towns, young men are getting employment after going through the skill development programmes. The retail sectors that are coming up in small towns also have requirement for skilled workers. With various hotels coming up at different locations across the state, trained persons are needed for hospitality management. Hence, the state government tied up with several skill development partners, accredited by the National Skill Development Council.

People in Sunderbans have already started producing various handicraft items by forming self help groups. Many of the family members of victims of tiger attacks in the forest-adjoining villages, like Jhorkhali, are engaged in production of various food items and other products to earn a better livelihood. The local administration is also creating a market where these people can sell their goods and get a good amount against their products.

The State government has also been focusing on the building of infrastructure to improve connectivity, for which around Rs 400 crore would be allotted. The state government has taken up the project to improve connectivity between the islands in Sunderbans.

There are around 104 islands in Sunderbans, among which half are inhibited by people while the rest are dense forest areas. Around 50 lakh people are currently living in the Sunderbans. This is for the first time that the State Government has allotted a significant amount for development of infrastructure in the islands.

 

সুন্দরবন জুড়ে উন্নয়নের জোয়ার

বর্তমান রাজ্য সরকারের আমলে সুন্দরবন অঞ্চলে এসেছে উন্নয়নের এক নতুন ঢেউ। উত্তর ও দক্ষিন ২৪ পরগনার অন্তর্গত সুন্দরবন অঞ্চলের বেশ কিছু জায়গা নিয়ে তৈরী হচ্ছে নতুন জেলা। এই অঞ্চলে চালু হয়েছে নানা স্কিল ডেভেলপমেন্ট কর্মসূচি, দক্ষ কর্মী গড়ে তুলতে।
রাজ্য সরকার গত এক বছর ধরে শিক্ষিত বেকার যুবক-যুবতীদের জন্য তিনটি হসপিটালিটি ম্যানেজমেন্ট কোর্স চালিয়ে যাচ্ছে যাতে তারা স্বনির্ভর হতে পারে। বিভিন্ন স্বনিভর গোষ্ঠীর সাথে যুক্ত যুবক-যুবতীদেরও এই কর্মসূচির আওতায় আনার পরিকল্পনা আছে।
এছাড়াও প্লাম্বিং ও ইলেক্ট্রিসিয়ানদের জন্য কোর্স শুরু করা হয়েছে দক্ষিন ২৪ পরগনার কাকদ্বীপ, ক্যানিং ও উত্তর ২৪ পরগনার হাসনাবাদে যাতে তারা স্বনির্ভর হতে পারে।
ইতিমধ্যেই খুচরো ব্যবসাকে লক্ষ্য করে সুন্দরবনে অনেকগুলি প্রশিক্ষণ কর্মসূচি শুরু করা হয়েছে। ছোট শহরগুলিতে এই প্রশিক্ষণপ্রাপ্তরা খুব সহজেই কাজ পেয়ে যাচ্ছে। খুচরো বিপণনকেন্দ্র যেগুলো আস্তে আস্তে ছোট শহরগুলিতে আসছে সেখানে প্রশিক্ষণপ্রাপ্ত কর্মীর চাহিদা আছে।
সারা রাজ্যে যেখানে নিত্যনতুন হোটেল খুলছে, সেখানে হসপিটালিটি ম্যানেজমেন্ট প্রশিক্ষণপ্রাপ্তদের প্রয়োজন আছে। ন্যাশনাল স্কিল ডেভেলপমেন্ট কাউন্সিলের অনুমোদিত বিভিন্ন স্কিল ডেভেলপমেন্ট সংস্থাগুলোর সঙ্গে রাজ্য সরকার চুক্তিবদ্ধ হয়েছে।
সুন্দরবনের মানুষজন ইতিমধ্যেই স্বনির্ভর গোষ্ঠীর সঙ্গে যুক্ত হয়ে অনেক হস্তশিল্প দ্রব্য তৈরী করছেন। জঙ্গলের লাগোয়া গ্রামগুলোর বাঘের আক্রমণে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত পরিবারের সদস্যরা অনেকেই জীবিকার জন্য খাদ্যদ্রব্য ও অন্যান্য জিনিস তৈরী করছে। এই সকল দ্রব্য যাতে উচিত মূল্যে বিক্রি করা যায় তার জন্য স্থানীয় প্রশাসন একটি বাজারের ব্যবস্থা করছে।
রাজ্য সরকার যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থার পরিকাঠামো উন্নতির উপর জোর দিচ্ছেন, যাতে করে বিভিন্ন দ্বীপগুলোর সঙ্গে সুন্দরবনের যোগাযোগ ব্যবস্থা ভালো করা যায়; এর জন্য আনুমানিক খরচ হিসেবে ৪০০ কোটি টাকা ধার্য করা হয়েছে।
সুন্দরবনে আনুমানিক ১০৪টি দ্বীপ আছে, যার অর্ধেকে মানুষের বসবাস আছে ও বাকিগুলি ঘন জঙ্গলে ঘেরা। সুন্দরবনে আনুমানিক ৫০ লক্ষ মানুষের বসবাস। এই প্রথম কোনো রাজ্য সরকার এতো টাকা ধার্য করল যাতে করে সুন্দরবনের সার্বিক পরিকাঠামোর উন্নয়ন করা যায়।

Come 2020, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation will introduce a 24X 7 water supply for the citizens.

This was announced on Wednesday after a marathon meeting between the Asian Development Bank officials and a KMC delegation led by city mayor Sovan Chatterjee.

The ADB officials from Manila are currently touring the city with a view to study city’s water supply infrastructure. KMC would take all measures to ensure that the water distribution network is strengthened to meet the 2020 deadline.

The KMC also has plans to map the city’s water distribution network. The digitized mapping will be stored in a centralized server to help it locate vulnerable points and plug the loopholes.

 

২০২০ থেকে ২৪ ঘন্টা জল সরবরাহ করবে কলকাতা পুরসভা

কলকাতার নাগরিকদের জন্য সুসংবাদ – আগামী ২০২০ সাল থেকে ২৪ ঘন্টা জল সরবরাহ করবে কলকাতা পুরসভা।

গত বুধবার মাননীয় মেয়র শোভন চ্যাটার্জীর উপস্থিতিতে এশিয়ান ডেভেলপমেন্ট ব্যাংকের এক প্রতিনিধিদল বৈঠক করেন পুরসভার কর্তাদের সাথে। সেখানেই এই সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া হয়।

আপাতত ওই ব্যাংকের আধিকারিকরা কলকাতার বিভিন্ন অঞ্চল ঘুরে জল সরবরাহের পরিকাঠামো খতিয়ে দেখছেন। ২০২০ সালের মধ্যে যাবতীয় পরিকাঠামো উন্নয়নের কাজ শেষ হয়ে যাবে, জানিয়েছে পুরসভা।

কলকাতা পুরসভা এর পর কলকাতা শহরের জল সরবরাহের একটি মানচিত্র তৈরী করবে বলে জানিয়েছে। এই ডিজিটাল মানচিত্রটি তৈরী হলে তা একটি সেন্ট্রাল সার্ভারে রাখা হবে যাতে যে কোনও সময় যে কোনও ত্রুটি খুব অল্প সময়ে সরিয়ে ফেলা যায়।

On the second day of her three-day trip to the Hills, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated a number of developmental projects.

Among the projects inaugurated today were the eight new cottages of the Kalimpong Tourist Lodge at Morgan House, a treasury building in Kalimpong, a marketing hub at Suruk-Samther in Kalimpong Block –I, the HDU unit at Kalimpong sub-divisional hospital, the office of DSP (Traffic) and police barracks in Vimbore (Bidhannagar), police station and force barracks in Sukhiapokhri, a hall at the Darjeeling minority centre, roads in Phansidewa, beautification project around Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital, and the office of the Tea Directorate on Hill Cart Road.

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stones of the New Jalpaiguri police station and the community hall at Lorungdhura in Jorbungalow .

She also distributed services like cheques for Geetanjali scheme and scholarships for Kanyashree, among others.

The Chief Minister began her speech by extending her greetings to the members of the development boards of the various Hills communities. She congratulated the Lepcha Board, whose foundation day it was today, for its great work in the last four years.  She mentioned the 3,000 homes for the poor which have been built by the Lepcha Board, adding that another 1,000 would be built.

She said that the various development boards must promote cultural activities and make Darjeeling clean and green. “We want the Darjeeling Hills region to prosper and become the best”.

Mamata Banerjee has always supported holistic development, to bring about changes both on the social and infrastructural fronts. She reminded people that “the more you work for development, the more funds we will allocate.” She promised to bring “more tribes under SC/ST list and set up more development boards”.

Keeping the impending municipal elections in the region in mind, she added, “Those who win must work for development”.

She mentioned the fact that her Government has sanctioned “ITIs, polytechnic colleges, medical college and education hub for Darjeeling Hills”.

On shoring up the tourism infrastructure in the Hills too, the Trinamool Congress Government has done a lot: as she said, “We want the tourism industry in the Hills to flourish”. Tourism infrastructure at Tiger Hill and its surrounding areas would be given a boost too.

She pointed out her Government’s efforts towards the welfare of all those linked with the crucial tea industry, the lifeline of the economy of the Hills, too: “We have set a separate tea directorate for north Bengal”. 

She made a crucial announcement during her speech. She announced that Kalimpong will become a new district, adding, her Government has “allotted Rs 6 crore for building infrastructure” for the new district.

The many splendid missionary schools in the Hills region have always attracted students from far and wide. She said, “We are proud of them”.

All-round development of Bengal, taking everyone along – be it her supporters or those opposed to her – has been the fulcrum of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s message of development ever since she came to power in 2011. She made it clear that it is not to change when she said, “So what if you did not vote for us in the elections? We will keep working for the development of Hills”.

She said the development of the Hills region is integral to the development of the State: “If the Hills do not progress, Bengal cannot progress”. 

The Chief Minister turned on her famous charm, that immediately draws everyone towards her, by saying “I am like your sister. We have to live in harmony in the Hills. I will keep coming here”.

She concluded her speech by calling everyone once again to work for the development of the Hills, reminding everyone that “there is no substitute for good work”, and not forgetting to add, “Keep working and we will extend all cooperation”.

 

উন্নয়ন নিয়ে কোন রাজনীতি নয়ঃ কালিম্পঙে মুখ্যমন্ত্রী

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের উদ্যোগে আজ পাহাড় ও সমতল জুড়ে একগুচ্ছ উন্নয়নমূলক প্রকল্পের সূচনা হল।

কালিম্পঙের মরগ্যান হাউস ট্যুরিস্ট লজ কম্পাউন্ডের আটটি কটেজের, কালিম্পঙের ট্রেজারি বিল্ডিং, কালিম্পং-১ ব্লকের সুরুক সাম্থারে মার্কেটিং হাব, কালিম্পং মহকুমা হাসপাতালে এইচ ডি এউ, সুখিয়াপোখরিতে পুলিশ স্টেশন ও ফোর্স ব্যারাক, ভিম্বরে বিধাননগর ইনভেস্টিগেশন সেন্টারে ডি এস পি ট্রাফিকের কার্যালয় ও পুলিশ ফোর্স ব্যারাক, দার্জিলিঙে সংখ্যালঘু ভবনের সভাকক্ষ, ফাঁসিদেওয়া ব্লকের রাস্তা উদ্বোধন করেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী।

জলপাইগুড়ি সদর হাসপাতাল সংলগ্ন এলাকার সৌন্দর্যায়ন প্রকল্পেরও উদ্বোধন করেন তিনি। এছাড়া শিলান্যাস করেন নিউ জলপাইগুড়ি থানা ও জোড়বাংলো সুখিয়াপোখরির লোবুংধুরায় কমিউনিটি হলের।এছাড়াও তিনি নানা পরিষেবা প্রদান করেন। যেমন, গীতাঞ্জলি প্রকল্পের আওতায় গৃহ নির্মাণের জন্য চেক এবং কন্যাশ্রী প্রকল্পের আওতায় ছাত্রীদের বৃত্তি।

বিভিন্ন বোর্ডের সকল সদস্যদের শুভেচ্ছা জানিয়ে তিনি তাঁর বক্তব্য শুরু করেন।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “গত ৪ বছরে লেপচা বোর্ড অনেক ভালো কাজ করেছে, তাই তাদের আমার অভিনন্দন। লেপচা উন্নয়ন বোর্ড প্রায় ৩০০০ বাড়ি তৈরি করেছে, গরীবদের জন্য আরও ১০০০ টি বাড়ি তৈরি করা হবে।বিভিন্ন উন্নয়ন পর্ষদ গুলির উচিত সাংস্কৃতিক বিকাশে জোর দেওয়া এবং দার্জিলিং- কে ‘ক্লিন অ্যান্ড গ্রিন’ বানাতে হবে। আমরা চাই দার্জিলিঙের আরও উন্নয়ন হোক এবং দার্জিলিং সেরা হোক। উন্নয়নমূলক কাজ করলে আমরা বরাদ্দ অর্থের পরিমাণ আরও বৃদ্ধি করব”।

তিনি আরও জানান যে অন্যান্য উপজাতিদের তপসিলি জাতি ও উপজাতি তালিকাভুক্ত করা হবে এবং আরও উন্নয়ন পর্ষদ গঠন করা হবে। সামনেই পাহাড়ের কর্পোরেশন নির্বাচন, যারা জিতবে তাদের অবশ্যই উন্নয়নমূলক কাজ করতে হবে।

ইতিমধ্যেই পাহাড়ের জন্য অনেক উন্নয়নমূলক কাজ করেছে সরকার। পাহাড়ের জন্য আই টি আই, পলিটেকনিক কলেজ, মেডিক্যাল কলেজ, এডুকেশন হাব তৈরি করা হয়েছে।

আমরা চাই পাহাড়ে পর্যটন শিল্পের আরও প্রসার ঘটুক। উত্তরবঙ্গের জন্য একটি আলাদা টি ডিক্টেটরেট তৈরি করা হয়েছে।

মুখ্যমন্ত্রী বলেন, “কালিম্পং নতুন জেলা হবে এবং নতুন জেলার পরিকাঠামো তৈরির জন্য ৬ কোটি টাকা বরাদ্দ করেছে রাজ্য সরকার। টাইগার হিলের পর্যটন পরিকাঠামোকে আরও উন্নত করার পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে।  পাহাড়ের উন্নয়ন না হলে বাংলার উন্নয়ন সম্ভব নয়। পাহাড়ে আমাদের শান্তি বজায় রাখতে হবে, আমি বার বার এখানে আসব।আপনারা আমাদের ভোট দেননি তো কি হয়েছে? তা সত্ত্বেও আমরা দার্জিলিঙের উন্নয়নের জন্য কাজ করে যাব। ভালো কাজের কোন বিকল্প নেই। কাজ করে যান, আমরা আপনাদের সহযোগিতা করব”।

State Agriculture Marketing Minister has instructed cold storage owners to sell off whatever they are storing by November in a measure to rein in prices of potatoes, onions and vegetables.

The Minister said that this will automatically cool the prices in the next few days.

According to the Minister, there are 544 cold storages across the state and in every cold storage officers will give surprise visits to take stock of the situation. At the same time, they will also visit the markets to get details of the retail price.

রাজ্য কৃষি বিপণন মন্ত্রী সমস্ত হিমঘরের মালিকদের নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন আগামী নভেম্বর মাসের মধ্যে তাদের হিমঘরে মজুত রাখা সব খাদ্যদ্রব্য বাজারে বিক্রি করতে হবে, যাতে আলু, পেঁয়াজ ও অন্যান্য শাকসবজির দাম নিয়ন্ত্রণে আসে।

মন্ত্রী জানান, এই পদক্ষেপের ফলে কয়েকদিনের মধ্যেই শাকসবজির দাম কিছুটা নিয়ন্ত্রণে আসবে।

মন্ত্রীর কথা অনুযায়ী এই মুহূর্তে রাজ্যে ৫৪৪টি হিমঘর আছে, যাতে সংশ্লিষ্ট আধিকারিকরা মাঝে মাঝেই ‘সারপ্রাইজ ভিসিটে’ যাবেন। সেই সঙ্গে তারা বাজারে গিয়েও মূল্যবৃদ্ধির খোঁজ নেবেন।

The work for setting up digital libraries in each district will start from November this year. The officers from the state library department are working hard to start the project in time.

The digital library is an upcoming trend, as it reduces space crunch. It is actually the collection of documents in organised electronic form, available on the Internet or on CD-ROMs (compact-disk read-only memory) disks. Depending on the specific library, a user is able to access magazine articles, books, papers, images, sound files, and videos.

The department is also taking several steps to revamp the State Central Library. A vision document of the Mass Education Extension and Library department were made by the department.

 

রাজ্যের প্রতিটি জেলায় ডিজিটাল লাইব্রেরি তৈরি করছে রাজ্য সরকার

 প্রতিটি জেলায় ডিজিটাল লাইব্রেরি স্থাপনের জন্য কাজ এই বছরের নভেম্বর থেকে শুরু হবে। রাজ্য গ্রন্থাগার বিভাগের কর্মকর্তারা সময়মত প্রকল্প শুরু করার জন্য কঠোর পরিশ্রম করছেন।

এই লাইব্রেরির মাধ্যমে ইলেক্ট্রনিক্স ফর্মে নথি সংগ্রহ করা হবে। এগুলি ইন্টারনেটে পাওয়া যাবে। এছাড়া সিডি ফর্মেও পাওয়া সম্ভবপর হবে। একটি নির্দিষ্ট লাইব্রেরির ওপর নির্ভর করে একজন পাঠক সবরকম পত্রিকা নিবন্ধ, বই, কাগজপত্র, ইমেজ, সাউন্ড ফাইল, এবং ভিডিও ইত্যাদি সহজেই পাবেন।

রাজ্যের কেন্দ্রীয় গ্রন্থাগারগুলি পুনর্গঠনের জন্য বিভিন্ন পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করেছে রাজ্য গ্রন্থাগার বিভাগ। গণশিক্ষা প্রসার ও গ্রন্থাগার বিভাগ একটি ভিশন ডকুমেন্টও তৈরি করেছে।

A 21-member Chinese trade delegation on Monday expressed their interest to invest in seven different industrial sectors in the state. The delegation – consisting of chief executive officers, vice-presidents and managing directors of 13 different companies met the local business fraternities on a ‘Business to Business’ gathering to discuss trade and investments in Bengal.

On Monday, Bengal Commerce and Industries Minister Dr Amit Mitra met the Chinese delegates. “They are interested to invest in the sectors of coal machinery and equipments, metallurgy, mining, electrical, chemical productions, pharmaceutical and medical equipments, biological equipments, hydropower and real estate materials,” Dr Mitra said.

The Chinese delegation is interested in manufacturing, infrastructure, real estate and heavy machinery. The scenario of Bengal is business friendly and conducive for investment, the delegation thinks..

The Chinese Vice-President Li Yuanchao had met Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in November 2015, and assured her to send a business delegation to the state.

“Chinese Vice-President had met Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and at the time had assured her to send a business delegation. With a focus on investment, the 13 companies from China have come to explore business opportunities in Bengal, whose aggregated turnover is USD 10 billion,” said Dr Mitra, adding that a delegation comprising top bosses of ‘Fortune 500’ companies is set to visit the state in November this year.

Additionally, the Chinese delegation will have discussions with Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC) and also visit a manufacturing zone at Burdwan’s Panagarh to get exact knowledge of investment opportunities in the state.

“The Chinese delegation will visit the Matix factory at Panagarh. It will give them genuine knowledge of industrialisation in the state. As the first phase of its Panagarh urea plant is ready for commissioning, Matix Fertilizers plans to invest Rs 6,500 Cr in the second phase of the project,” the State Commerce and Industries minister said.

Dr Mitra said the Chinese companies have also shown their interest in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, which will be given support on behalf of the state government as per the industrial policy. The state has 6,000 acre of land in 23 industrial estates. “The huge trade deficit shows us that we should do more business with China,” Mitra added.

“We have invited the Chinese delegation to attend the Bengal Global Business Summit and I hope they will take a firm decision on investments in the state. Chinese do not take much time. Many countries take time to research, Chinese are not like those. They are always quick to grab the opportunities,” Dr Mitra said.

 

বাংলায় বিনিয়োগে আগ্রহী চিনের প্রতিনিধি দল

গতকাল চিন থেকে ২২ জনের একটি শিল্প প্রতিনিধি দল অমিত মিত্রের সঙ্গে বৈঠক করতে আসেন। বাংলায় শিল্পে বিনিয়োগের আদর্শ পরিবেশ তৈরী হয়েছে মমতা বন্দোপাধ্যায়ের আমলেই, জানালেন শিল্প বিনিয়োগের সম্ভাবনা খতিয়ে দেখতে আসা চীন প্রতিনিধি দলের নেতৃত্বে থাকা প্রতিনিধিরা।
চিন থেকে আসা প্রতিনিধিরা  জানান যে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ ক্রমশ উন্নতি করেছে। আগের অবস্থার পরিবর্তন ঘটিয়ে রাজ্য বিনিয়োগের উপযুক্ত হয়ে উঠেছে।  রাজ্যের বিভিন্ন শিল্প সম্ভাবনা খতিয়ে দেখতে এসেছেন তারা।  রাজ্যের শিল্পমন্ত্রী  ডঃ অমিত মিত্র এই সভার প্রতিনিধিত্ব করেন। উপস্থিত ছিলেন অর্থ দফতরের বিভিন্ন আধিকারিকরা। চিন থেকে আসা প্রতিনিধি দলের পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সফর নিয়ে উত্সাহী রাজ্যের শিল্পপতি মহল।
ধাতু বিদ্যা, খনিজ সরঞ্জাম এবং উত্পাদন বিষয়ক বিভিন্ন খাতে বিনিয়োগের ইচ্ছা প্রকাশ করেছেন দলটি।বাংলায় শিল্প বিনিয়োগের রূপরেখা তৈরী করতে তুমুল উত্সাহী  চিন। এই প্রতিনিধি দলকে উপযুক্ত জমি দেখতে পানাগড় নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়।দুদিন ব্যাপী এই সফরে তাদের চাহিদা অনুযায়ী ল্যান্ড ব্যাংকে থাকা বাকি জমিও দেখানো হবে। ১৩টি শিল্প সংস্থার ১৯ জন প্রতিনিধি এখানে আসেন। এই ১৩টি সংস্থার বার্ষিক আয় ১০০০ কোটি ডলারের বেশি। ফরচুন ৫০০ নথিভুক্ত কয়েকটি চীনা সংস্থাকে নিয়ে আগামী অক্টোবর মাসে এই প্রতিনিধিদল আবার আসবেন। সাংজি এনার্জি গ্রুপের পক্ষ থেকে জলবিদ্যুৎতে বিনিয়োগের আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করা হয়েছে।
সিচুয়ান চানকে ইন্ডাস্ট্রিয়াল কোম্পানি লিমিটেডের পক্ষ থেকে রাজ্যের সঙ্গে মৌ সাক্ষরে আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করা হয়েছে। ক্রাউন ইনভেস্টমেন্ট কোম্পানি লিমিটেডের পক্ষ থেকে রিয়েল এস্টেটে স্থানীয় শিল্পপতিদের সঙ্গে চুক্তিতে আগ্রহ প্রকাশ করা হয়েছে।

West Bengal finance minister Amit Mitra is likely to take up the issue of Centre’s “delayed clearance” to the second phase of a loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), amounting to Rs 2,000 crore.

This, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, is “vital” to Bengal’s development and alleged continued “negligence” on the Centre’s part. The issue threatens to become the next flash point between the two governments.

The loan, said the state government, was approved by the board of ADB almost 11 months ago, after the completion of the first phase — in which West Bengal carried out a slew of “people-centric fundamental reforms.”

But while the Centre had approved the loan in the first phase, the proposal for the second installment is yet to be cleared 11 months after it was sent to the Finance Ministry’s department of Economic Affairs. In this time period, the state finance department had written a number of letters to the Centre.

“We have been waiting for the approval of the loan for months. The Government talks about pro-active governance, but in the case of West Bengal’s development, there is continued negligence,” Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said.

The second phase of the loan follows the “successful competition” of the first, in which the state government carried out reforms aimed at transparency and ease of governance.

West Bengal is the only state where payment is completely electronic. West Bengal was the first to use an RBI portal, e-Kuber. All this came out of the ADB’s first phase loan. Also, the State was given the highest award in e-taxation, integrated central finance and for use of information technology by the excise department under the e-abgari loan.
