Two theme parks at Howrah, named after Kaji Nazrul Islam and Bal Gangadhar Tilak, were inaugurated in the past two days by Howrah mayor Rathin Chakraborty.

One of the parks is named after Kazi Nazrul Islam, while the other has been named Bal Gangadhar Tilak park. The parks have been built at a cost of Rs 50 lakh and Rs 1.90 crore respectively.

On the initiative of the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, it was decided that 10 such theme parks will dot the area under the Nabanna Development Zone project to make the place look visually appealing to visitors from India and abroad.

The Nazrul park has come up on a nine-cottah plot located 50 metres away from the secretariat near the Vidyasahgar Setu toll plaza.

The Bal Gangadhar Tilak Park is 150 metres away from Nabanna and has been developed on a plot spread over eight bighas. Both the parks have been built by Howrah Municipal Corporation (HMC) with support from the state government. Both the parks have bronze statues of stalwarts they have been named after.

The Nazrul Park has been decorated with springs, the walls are painted with messages that spread communal harmony. It also has murals portraying Hindus and Muslims participating in each other’s festivals.

The other park is located next to Avani Mal on Foreshore Road. The park has a 4.5 bigha waterbody with boating facilities. The authority has plans to host light and sound shows here.

The parks have been planned by the Chief Minister. Architect Ramratan Chowdhury is designing all the 10 parks. The next two parks will be named Biswa Bangla Park and Sister Nivedita Park.

 

সরকারি উদ্যোগে দশটি থিম পার্ক আসছে হাওড়ায়

গত ২ দিনে হাওড়ায় ২টি থিম পার্কের উদ্বোধন করেন হাওড়া পুরসভার মেয়র রথিন চক্রবর্তী।এর মধ্যে একটি পার্কের নাম দেওয়া হয়েছে কাজি নজরুল ইসলাম এবং অপরটির নাম বাল গঙ্গাধর তিলক। এই পার্ক তৈরি করতে প্রায় ৫০ লাখ টাকা খরচ হয়েছে।

পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী শ্রীমতী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের অনুপ্রেরণায় হাওড়ায় নবান্নর কাছে এরম ১০টি থিম পার্ক তৈরির চিন্তাভাবনা করা হয়েছে। নবান্ন উন্নয়ন জোন প্রকল্পের আওতায় এগুলি থাকবে, এটি বিদেশি পর্যটকদের আকর্ষণের একটি কেন্দ্র হবে।

বিদ্যাসাগর সেতুর টোল প্লাজার কাছাকাছি সচিবালয় থেকে ৫০ মিটার দূরে অবস্থিত ৯ কাঠা একটি জমিতে তৈরি হয়েছে এই নজরুল পার্ক।

নবান্ন থেকে প্রায় ১৫০মিটার দূরে রয়েছে বাল গঙ্গাধর তিলকপার্ক এবং এটি তৈরি হয়েছে ৮ বিঘা জমির ওপর। রাজ্য সরকারের সহযোগিতায় হাওড়া পুরসভা এই ২টি পার্ক তৈরি করেছে। ২টি পার্কেই ব্রোঞ্জের মূর্তি রয়েছে।

নজরুল পার্ক সাজানো হয়েছে।  দেয়ালে বিভিন্ন পেইন্টিং করা হচ্ছে এবং এগুলির মাধ্যমে সাম্প্রদায়িক সম্প্রীতির বার্তা ছড়িয়ে দেওয়া হচ্ছে।

অন্য পার্কটি ফোরশোর রোডের ধারে অবনি মলের কাছে অবস্থিত। পার্কে ৪.৫ বিঘা জমিতে জলাশয় রয়েছে এর সঙ্গে এখানে বোটিং পরিষেবাও আছে। এখানে আলো ও সাউন্ডের আয়োজনের পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে কর্তৃপক্ষের।

পার্কগুলি মুখ্যমন্ত্রী পরিকল্পনা অনুযায়ী তৈরি করা হয়েছে। স্থপতি রামরতন চৌধুরী এই ১০টি পার্কের নকশা তৈরি করেছেন। পরের ২টি পার্কের নাম হবে বিশ্ব বাংলা পার্ক ও নিবেদিতা পার্ক।
