Derek O’Brien raises a Point of Order on additional Bills

FULL TRANSCRIPT
Sir, my Point of Order is Rule 29. Sir, two Bills were listed in the morning, Ram Vilas Paswan ji’s Consumer Protection Bill and the Premises and Eviction Bill. Two Bills. Informally, we agreed that a third Bill would be listed, it’s a one-hour Bill on the National Institute of Design; students can get their certificates.
Now Sir, we need your protection. At 4.30 pm you are again listing two other Bills. Why are you doing this? Is it provoke us? I am saying this with all honesty. Sir, or do you want to take Parliament… We are here trying to work for the integrity of Parliament. You cannot take Parliament for granted. At 4.30 pm, you have announced two more Bills. Either you are doing this with a purpose, or there are typographical errors, in which case I will sit down. Or this is Parliament happening – it’s a Tuesday afternoon, baarish ho raha hai, chalo laga do Bill. Let us know Sir.
Thank You.
