Pratima Mondal speaks on the need for platforms at halt railway stations

Madam, I would like to draw the attention of the House through you that under my Parliamentary Constituency, there is a halt station named Chandkhali on Sealdah-Canning line, which has not started functioning due to non-completion of one side of the platform.
In the year 2014, I personally requested the-then Railway Minister for completion of the said railway station’s platform and I submitted a letter to him and in this context. I contacted the GM of Eastern Railway several times. But, despite all my efforts, I always received the same reply that the work will be completed in the next dry season as waterlogging is one of the main reason in the monsoon season.
Madam, it has been more than five years. The people in my constituency have been waiting for the station. It is something that can easily be accomplished in a few months. I would like to request the honourable Railway Minister, through you, that he should interfere in the matter and instruct the officials so that the halt railway station platform will be completed without any further delay.
