Today, 17 anti-BJP parties met at the Constitution Club in New Delhi today on the call of the Trinamool Congress Chairperson Mamata Banerjee.

Excerpts from her media interaction:

  • We have friends from Congress, CPI(M), CPI and various other parties here today.
  • The two parties which are missing today must be having some special reason; they might have had some other important work.
  • At the meeting earlier, we have jointly come up with the name of Sharad Pawar as our candidate for the presidential election. It was a joint decision.
  • We came together after a long time. We will again come together soon.
